Finally, giving my take on this after a lots of request on my Instagram DMs!

I shall be dissecting each and everything regarding the most talked about couple of Mahabharat, so grab your seatbelts for this!

Arjun and Draupadi, what is the first thing that comes to your mind hearing about them?

A lot, if I am not wrong....

But one thing which is a common thought is, Arjun 'sacrificed' Draupadi, and Draupadi 'sacrificed' herself to preserve the unity of the Pandav brothers. Right?

Right? 

In short, here begins the ultimate TRAGIC LOVE STORY of your 'beloved' ArDi. 

Okay, so let's begin how this 'TRAGIC LOVE STORY' came into existence. 

Human mind is wild as heck. Unintentionally, always attracted to controversies. Mahaabhaarat is known by all, why not take it with a twist? Definitely! Who will love the goody good on shoes Pandavas, who are always righteous? Right?

B.O.R.I.N.G! 

So let's discuss, how any ArDi author of Mahabharat (not targeting all but, ifykyk  ;) ) looks at Arjun and Draupadi's characters.

An ArDi author's POV

* Flaws in Arjun.

The same words from my parents, look learn from Arjun! Such a dedication! Such passion, and you? (*satire smirk*) All Indian kids can relate right?

Then I think about this particular guy, and bam! I get blown out by the fact that he is such a powerful character, hardly with any follies!

And, and and, ladies and gentlemen, my mind cannot just take it any more! I reread Mahabharat, once again, uff! Again Arjun appearing the epitome of perfection!

So, so, so, after a point, your mind which always desires for fifty shades of grey in any characters, begins to look for flaws in it. 

Umm, umm, you get that, friend of Krishna, obedient, calm, intelligent, passionate, silent observer--oh yes! SILENT OBSERVER! (*eyes twinkle with delight*)

How about I just twist this SILENT OBSERVER thing into him being silent everytime? (*eyes sparkles with even more delight*) 

(*The author goes on making Arjun an introvert, who cannot speak when required*)

Next, next ,next, what do we have from the list? Oh yes, an OBEDIENT BOY! 

An obedient boy listening to Kunti and Yudhishthir and nodding everytime to what they say!

Great!

(*The authors makes Arjun an obedient, foolish boy, who keeps on nodding blindly to anything and everything the elders say*)

Next, what do we have? 

Oh yes, he was Krishna's best friend! Right? So what qualities should he have? Friendly, intelligent, calm, powerful, passionate....

B.O.R.I.N.G!

Let's make Arjun DETACHED from the world! (*eyes sparkle more*)

Like how Krishna is detached......*inserts Samjh rhe ho meme*

Okay! Since he is detached, let's make him HEARTLESS and STONE COLD (*heart eyes x 10*)

(*The author goes on making Arjun a stone cold man devoid of any emotions, and detached from the world*)

But author is like....this much? HOW THE HECK AM I GOING TO SELL MY BOOK IF ARJUN ISN'T FLAWED AF?!

Oh yes yes! Found it!

Arjun has four wives!

WOMANIZER!  (*literally jumping up and down on the sofa by now*)

(*The author proceeds to make Arjun a lecherous man*)

The character of Arjun is sorted!

*Flaws in Draupadi

Uff Draupadi! World's most beautiful woman! The heroine of Mahaabhaarat! 

*Starts reading Mahaabhaarat* Uff, Draupadi was fireborn? Oh my!

Okay, so what should be the qualities of a fireborn? (*Closes Mahaabhaarat by now*)

FEISTY AS HECK! 

Feisty , well, I don't think so only making her feisty will do the work. How am I supposed to give a different point of view about Draupadi then? (*eyes blank*)

Oh yes, ARROGANT! She's fireborn, she has to be arrogant!

And with ARROGANCE comes HOT TEMPERED! Omg yes! She's fireborn, she has to be HOT TEMPERED!

(*practically rolls on bed squealing happily*)

Well, now since she has all these traits, she must be a BICKERING woman as well! (*groans happily since the book is going to make her different than the rest*)

(*The author proceeds to make her an arrogant, hot tempered, bickering woman devoid of self respect as per taste*)

Done!

The character of Draupadi is sorted!

Now, I have two characters, with ample flaws. Now, all I need to do is just SKIM through some verses of Mahaabhaarat lightly. Why should I damn go through one lakh shlokas lol, it's not that I AM GOING TO COPY PASTE the Mahaabhaarat lol!

There has to be some originality, right? 

Mahaabhaarat is known by all, I just need to fit some the VERSES to suite my narrative! 

(*Leaves everything, starts reading the part where Arjun divided Draupadi*)

Oh shit! Shit shit! This man Arjun! (*cups mouth*) What does he think of Draupadi? A prize to be divided? How dare he do so? 

Wait..wait..wait...so does that mean he wasn't attracted to Draupadi? (*thinks*) Well, but she's so damn beautiful! That's very impossible if he isn't attracted to her!

What the heck! IT'S YUDHISHTHIR! OMG IT'S YUDHISHTHIR AND KUNTI! DAMN! MY POOR LITTLE ARJUN! THEY SNATCHED DRAUPADI FROM HIM!

AND ARJUN? OH YES, MY POOR ARJUN IS OBEDIENT! (*sobs*) HE CAN'T EVEN SPEAK NOW! HE CAN'T STAND UP FOR HIS WIFE! SINCE HE NODS HEAD TO EVERYTHING WHAT YUDHISHTHIR SAYS WITHOUT EVEN THINKING!

This is a cowardly behavior Arjun....not expected (*sobs*)

Shit, my heart breaks for Draupadi.... my girl was divided amidst the Pandavas mercilessly! 

Oh God, she was made for Arjun, she only LOVED Arjun, uff! And now....now her love, Arjun deceived her! He did not say a word when Draupadi was getting divided? (*sobs even more*)

This is not right Arjun....but I understand Arjun here as well. What is he supposed to do, in front of his mother and eldest? Poor him, I wish he had been a bit strong and avoided it....(*notes*)

I feel this guy, he must be heartbroken internally, seeing Draupadi getting divided because of his folly (*tsk tsk tsk*) He must be breaking from inside like glasses, yet he kept himself stable with a smile. 

And Draupadi? She was manipulated! MANIPULATED by Kunti! By Yudhishthir! By Ved Vyas! 

But she only loved Arjun! How can her arrogant self bear it? (*sobs*) She must be yearning for Arjun now.....how sad.

But will she leave Arjun like that? How did that guy spoil his life, uff! She must have said something to him, right?

(*The author proceeds to make Draupadi give him snide remarks about her division*)

Suites well....of course! Now, my poor Arjun! Got scolding from Draupadi? How is he going to face her? Make her understand?

Heck....making her understand seems tedious lol.....who is going to think about dialogues of pacification? Let's do one thing, Arjun is DETACHED from the world, so....Let's make him IGNORE Draupadi!

That will help him forget his pain, show his sacrifice, and make him look like, he is keeping his brothers over him! (*dances madly*)

Of course, since he knows Draupadi is inclined to him, he can't AFFORD to come in front of her, and make her attention get entirely diverted to him, right?

It won't look nice :( 

Best thing is, he must hide his feelings from her......wow, my book is turning even more interesting (*heart eyes*) I see silent pain of the eyes, yearningness, oh gosh! I love it!

How about I make Arjun stare at Draupadi from far, and just then when they meet eyes, Arjun looks away with a heavy heart....uff! Heartbreaking! 

And how about I make Draupadi trying to come and seek validation from Arjun, but Arjun being Arjun ignores him for the sake of her well being? Uff! Ultimate sacrifice! 

And oh yes, I need to also degrade the other Pandavas to look Arjun great....(*eyes twinkle with delight*)

And this makes Draupadi very angry, sad, heartbroken....but she can't do anything about it! She is trying to love all the other four husbands, but her heart....her poor heart wants Arjun Arjun Arjun! 

And Kunti, she like every mother in law will force Draupadi to love all her sons equally! Heck, even a mother can't love her sons equally, how will a wife love them all? 

Poor Draupadi gets ridiculed by everyone, for marrying five husbands, and her favorite husband is ignoring her also....even though she can see the yearning and pain in his eyes....she knows he wants to be with him but can't! How, how heartbreaking (*wipes tears*) 

Wow....I AM A GENIUS! This....this is giving a new definition to ArDi! My goodness! (*grows ecstatic*)

Now I should take some rest and think about it tomorrow....
