Yellow and Purple
(Your point of view)
*three year time skip, meaning you're 16 nd Gladion is 18*
Once again, Gladion challenged me. Once again, I defeated him. "I always enjoy battling my strongest rival. Till next time," Gladion said at his departure. I grabbed his hand to stop him from leaving. "(Y/n?)" He gave me a concerned look. "I don't see you a lot," I murmured. I looked at him with sad eyes. "Let's go to the battle tree together. It'll be my first time; I want to share that with you." He seemed to understand me missing him and agreed to go. He never let go of my hand... Gladion's growing out of his sour puss attitude.
When we arrived at the battle tree, we were greeted by two men: one with orange spikey hair and one with black hair. The ginger wore a black shirt and green shorts. The black haired man wore a shirt, skinny jeans and a cap. "Hi, you're the Alola champion right?" The orange haired man greeted. I nodded in response. "I'm Blue and this is Red. We're the Kanto champions." Blue turned to Red, clearly hoping he'd say something. Yet he didn't. "He's the silent type," Blue added. I quickly released Gladion's hand before they noticed. Luckily, we were standing particularly close so it was hard to notice. "If you're Blue and Red, then that makes him Yellow and me Purple." I joked. Gladion sighed and rolled his eyes. Blue gave me a smile.
"Well then Purple... will you fight one of us? I'm pretty eager to fight the champion of Alola," Blue asked. "How about we make it a double battle? You and Red against me and Yellow," I suggested. "Are we really doing this colour thing?" Gladion sighed. I nodded and replied, "We could always be Sun and Moon." Gladion shook his head. Blue cleared his throat. "A double battle it is, then. I'll know if you're a good champ or not after this. Go Alkazam!" Blue called out the psychic pokemon. Red let out a Pikachu, but still said nothing. "Go! Pherosma!" I cheered as I let the ultra beast out of it's ball. "You can do it, Crobat." Gladion encouraged as he let out his Crobat.
*25 minutes later*
Blue had Gyardos on the field, Red had Chaziard, Gladion had dragon-type Silvally and I had Lunala out. We were all down to our last pokemon and about to finish them off. "Lunala! Use moongeist beam on Gyardos!" I yelled. "Silvally! Dodge Charizard's attack and then counter with multi-attack!" Gladion commanded. Lunala's beam rained down on Gyardos, making it faint. Silvally skillfully doged Charizard's attack and, as instructed, countered with multi attack. The Charizard fainted. "We did it Gladion!" I celebrated. I ran over to him to give him a high five, but instead he picked me up and spun me around. There was a genuine smile on his face. "You're right, we really did." He cheered.
I couldn't help but smile even more at that. "You're actually smiled for once," I teased. "I've smiled before!" He retorted. I shook my head. "You smirked deviously before. This is the first time you've smiled," I rebutted. Gladion rolled his eyes said, "Whatever keeps your smile on your face." Since when do you care about my smile? "Looks like someone has already cast their line onto her. We're not getting lucky," I heard Blue whisper to Red. I turned towards them. "What do you mean? I'm single," I inquired. Blue nervously scratched the back of his head. "Don't worry your pretty little head about it," he responded. He looked at Gladion added, "Yellow, you should start fishing. You'll enjoy yourself." Gladion glared back at him. "Anyway, we'll be your last battle in the battle tree. We expect you two to make it that far, so see ya." Blue and Red walked back inside the battle tree.
"Arceus, that took a lot out of me. Let's go get malasadas," I offered. Gladion nodded and said, "I'll pay." I have no objections to that. I'm really hungry, so it'll only be a drain on your wallet. Gladion called his Charizard. I climbed on behind him and wrapped my arms around him for safety. I can feel his heart beat... it's nice. It's always nice. I want to hang around him more. It's always fun. "By the way..." Gladion started. "Lillie and mother return at the end of the week. You should come over for dinner."
