Elsa Arendelle exhaled and tried again.  Her right hand began glowing an icy-blue, before fizzing out yet again.  She groaned in frustration.  It was always like this.  Once minute it would work perfectly fine, and the next it would suddenly just stop altogether.  How was she going to get the hang of this in yet another year's time?

"Elsa!  Hurry up, we're gonna be late!" her little sister, Anna Arendelle, called out from within the house and Elsa hastily pulled on her light blue arm-length gloves to hide the blue hue in shimmering in her fingertips.  Anna already knew about Elsa's powers, but ever since they were children, she had been afraid of using them in front of her anymore.  Let's just say the memory wasn't pretty for either teenager.

"Coming, Anna!" Elsa called back, grabbing her baby blue backpack from the ground next to the tree stump in their backyard, before turning and running inside the house, her long white-blonde hair bouncing over her left shoulder in a tight braid while her short bangs billowed out just shy of her ice blue eyes.

"We're leaving, Olaf!" Elsa called out to their Guardian, a young man with bleach-blonde hair and dark eyes that had taken in Elsa and her sister after their parents had passed away around three years ago.

"See you soon!  Try to make some more friends this year, Elsa!" his high-pitched squeaky voice replied back, and Elsa merely rolled her eyes.  He always said that.

"Bye, Olaf!" Anna called, and waved from the doorway in her blue capris and pink top matched with her pink flats, her strawberry-blonde hair hanging in two separate braids in front of her shoulders.  Elsa was the exact opposite of her younger sister.  Whereas she wore bright colors even throughout Winter, Elsa wore dark colors, or, on some occasions more often than not, she wore a bright cold blue.

Elsa released a heavy sigh and left the small house with Anna in tow as she skipped slightly ahead of her, completely carefree.  Elsa just had to smile at her sister's enthusiasm.  Every year she would get excited, even if they never saw each other during school because of the segregation in their types.  You see, at Disworks High, the school was paired off into two different sections.  The Magicals.  And the Ordinaries.  It was just how the system worked.  Plus, it kept Anna safe from Elsa and her powers.  Elsa liked it that way.

Once they arrived at the school, the two sisters said their goodbyes to one another as Elsa headed off into the Magicals hallway and Anna into the Ordinaries, or as the other Magicals referred to them as, the 'Norms'.  Elsa didn't like calling her sister a 'Norm', because she just wasn't Ordinary no matter how you looked at her, Magic or not.

Elsa entered Homeroom just as the bell rang and sat in between Rapunzel and Hiccup, two of who were surprisingly the only friends Elsa had made in the past three years she had been at school.  "Hey, guys," Elsa gave them a small smile as she pulled down the hood of her black jacket, her jeans trailing along the floor and over her bright blue flats.

Hiccup simply waved since he didn't really have a way with words much, and Rapunzel poked Elsa in the ribs, her long golden-blonde hair braided tightly since it was miles long if it wasn't, flowers tied in with the strands of hair and adorning her purple top with shining suns on it, and shorts that came just above her knees, her feet crossed at the ankles where her bright purple flats stood out from beneath her desk.  "Morning, Els.  You ready for Senior year?" Rapunzel winked her bright green eyes over at Elsa, drawing a chuckled from her while shedding her sweater and allowing her pale blue top covered in snowflakes that Elsa had personally added to it to be seen.

"The sooner we get out of here, the better," Elsa muttered, and turned to Hiccup as he nodded in agreement.

"I agree with you on that one.  Dragon taming isn't easy."  Elsa smiled as Hiccup opened up his notebook to start doodling drawings of his black Night Fury Dragon--Toothless--who he favored most of all.  Disworks High was also known for it's Magical Creatures Stables out in the woods.  It was a fantasy land come true.

"So what's today's subject?" Elsa casually turned to Rapunzel as the peppy blonde pointed to the board.  Elsa turned forward and blinked rapidly at the word written on the board in dry-erase marker, the scent of it still partially lingering in the air.

Mastering the Art of Magic.

Elsa swallowed roughly.  Not good.  She felt a hand on her shoulder and turned to look at Punzie, who offered her a small comforting smile.  "Don't worry.  You'll do fine."  Elsa nodded robotically, but in actuality, she wasn't at all prepared for this.

Once Cinderella finally entered the room to start teaching the class, everyone was paired off into groups of four and, as per usual, Elsa, Punzie, and Hiccup were their regular group of three, letting anyone join them as a fourth member if they so wished.  Elsa glanced around them for anyone that would want to be a part of their group.

Melody, Tinkerbell, Perrywinkle, and Rosetta were already a group.  Silvermist, Vidia, Fawn, and Iridessa were their own Fairy group.  Hercules, Peter Pan, Giselle, and Lumiere were a whole other group, while Cogsworth, Dash, Mulan, and Tiana another group.  The more Elsa looked around, the more she saw other people in their own groups.  Elsa quickly turned back to her friends.  It seems they were going to be yet another group of three just like the last three years.

"Rapunzel, Hiccup, Elsa, is it okay if you add one more to your group?" Cinderella asked them then, and swiftly turned to face her, glimpsing a tall lanky figure standing right behind her.

Elsa shrugged, not really saying anything as she folded her arms over her chest.  Hiccup just smiled, and so Rapunzel answered for the both of them, "It's no problem, Mrs. C.  We'd love to have another person in our group."

Cinderella smiled before stepping aside, finally the tall boy hidden behind her.  The first thing Elsa saw was his hair.  It was an unusual snow-white color that made his blue eyes stand out, the blue hoodie he had on covering half his face with one hand shoved in the pocket of the sweater and the other holding a long curved staff of some kind over his shoulder, his brown pants that stopped just above the ankle revealing his pale bare feet.  Why he didn't have shoes on was beyond her.

"Kids, this is Jack Frost," Cinderella introduced him, and Elsa simply nodded at him in greeting as he just glanced at her, before swiftly looking away.  She didn't blame him.  She was a stranger, so of course he wouldn't befriend her so easily.  Punzie, on the other hand, had other ideas for a greeting.

"Welcome to our group!" the peppy blonde beamed excitedly, and grabbed hold of Jack's sweater as she tugged him over towards them.  Elsa began to lean towards Hiccup, trying her best to hide behind him since she wasn't really a 'social butterfly' herself like Rapunzel was.  "I'm Rapunzel, and this is Hiccup, and that's Elsa hiding over there!"  Gee, thanks, Punz, Elsa thought with a sarcastic roll of her eyes.

Elsa exhaled roughly, fluttering her bangs off her forehead only for them to fall back in place as she glanced over at Jack, noticing the grip he held on that staff of his as the wood began to tinge with a faint blue hue.  Elsa's eyes widened at the familiar color.  Jack noticed her staring at his staff, and quickly flipped it over so that it was hidden from view behind his broad back.  Elsa gulped and gazed down at her glove-covered hands.

Rapunzel and Hiccup eyed Elsa's gloves as well with Jack.  Jack may not have known about her powers, but Rapunzel and Hiccup did.  Closing her eyes, Elsa slowly slipped off one of her gloves as her friends gasped and took a hesitant step back.  They knew she could be dangerous.  After what happened last year, she didn't blame them.

Jack frowned and pulled the blue hood back from his head as he watched Elsa clench her hands into a fist, before slowly opening her fingers as a tinge of blue lit up her fingertips.  Jack's eyes widened, but he didn't say anything.  Elsa guess he was a man of few words.  Raising her own blue eyes to his, Jack suddenly swung his staff up as Elsa flinched, only to feel the smooth freezing wood settle in her palm as something cold expanded from within.

Elsa peeled her eyes open wide and looked up only for Jack to take back his staff just as swiftly, leaving a crystallized rose in the palm of her hand.  Elsa said nothing and peered up through her long bleach-blonde lashes to see him smiling gently over at he.  Then he winked.  Elsa felt heat rise to her cheeks immediately.

"It's about time I found someone like me," his voice was deep, melodic, and just downright attractive.

Elsa swallowed roughly once more, folding her fingers gently over the rose as she added a long thin stem to it with her own Ice Magic.  Elsa found herself smiling down at the Icicle Rose she held gently in her fist.  "You have no idea."
