Whilst investigating the death of a local detective, a cute gardener called Joey Graceffa uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, steamy cup of tea circulating throughout the moon crater where he lived. As soon as anyone uses the cup of tea, he or she has exactly 10 days left to live.

The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day to day life, but when photographed, they look pickled. A marked person feels like a squat chinchilla to touch.

Joey gets hold of the cup of tea, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into his mind: a greasy husky balancing on a melting detective, an old newspaper headline about a horrific golfing accident, a hooded hippo ranting about fingernails and a shack located in a picturesque place.

When Joey notices his ankles have chinchilla-like properties, he realizes that the curse of the steamy cup of tea is true and calls in his boyfriend, a striper ( ;)yes, striper) called Daniel Freda, to help.

Daniel examines the cup of tea and willingly submits himself to the curse to help his lover. He finds that the same visions flash before his eyes. He finds the greasy husky balancing on a melting detective particularly chilling. He joins the queue for a supernatural death.

Joey and Daniel pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded hippo. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?
