After a half an hour of just normal small talk and Alice revealing her crackhead side to the boys after making Mary repeatedly throw Bertie botts at her while she was sitting on the ground because we ran out of seats, I had to go to the heads meeting. "I have to go, wish me luck". I leave the compartment and pin my badge to my robes which I changed into just before I left. 234, 235, 236 ah here we go compartment 237. I walked in but the head boy isn't here yet. I found out Remus wasnt head boy but he is a perfect which I'm very happy about. I'm scared now, what if it's Snape or that handsome boy Amos Diggory. I cringe at the thought of snape being head boy, my own personal hell. Sev, no Snape I correct my self in my head called me a mudblood in our 5th year right after our O.W.L.S. That one comment destroyed our 7 year friendship. Now him and his little death eater wannabe friends make it their life purpose to torment me. Only Marlene, or Marly as I call her, know about their constant bullying. I dont even care anymore, I'm used to be called names by my sister. I'm so caught up in my own upsetting thoughts I dont even hear the door open. "Evans... Hey Evans.....EVANS!!" This snapped me out of my thoughts. Oh My God James Potter is in front of me with a head boy badge on his robes.

I try to stay as calm as possible. Me and Potter have been closer over the past year still not just friends but close acquaintances you could say. "You're late Potter"
"You're not mad that it's me" he asks in a surprised tone with his eyebrows almost reaching his hair line. Not that you can see has hairline with that mop on his head.
"No. you've been fairly tame the last year. Surprised? Yes I think Albus is off his rocker" I chuckled softly "I mean once a marauder always a marauder!" He laughs at this. The tension in the air is choking me. "Well james I have a proposition for you we could-" he cut me off "You well you called me James!" He says "Yes. Now before I was rudely interupted" I scowled. "If we are going to be working together for the next year might aswell try to be friends"

James POV

Lily Evans.  The Lily Evans wants to be my friend. Me! James potter who basically bullied her for 5 and a half years to the point of a restraining order threat. I look at her obvious surprise written on my face. I take in her appearance for a second aswell. It's no secret that I really like Lily, and it's not because of her long, wavy red hair or her striking emerald coloured eyes, it's because of how kind she is. Always there to help out others in need, and her smarts. She is one of the smartest people I've ever met, she's at the top of every class. Well almost every class. She's a very close second in transfiguration with me on the top. Back to her appearance. She is very short, maybe 5 foot 2, but she has long slender legs but she still looks curvy. She is wearing blue Jeans and a Gryffindor quidditch jumper.  'So cute' I think to myself. I look back up to her eyes but there is something missing they look a bit empty. They don't have there usual sparkle. Just before I was going to ask what was wrong the prefects started to file in. I guess I reall was late.

"Hi everyone I'm Lily Evans your head girl and this" she waved towards me to introduce myself "I'm the one and only James potter"
There was a few gasps of surprise and some whispers "James potter!?" I chuckled at the sight of all these prefects not understanding why I was made head boy and to be honest I dont really know either" I recognised all the prefects here. For Gryffindor there was Remus and a 6th year girl named Emile Vance. She was one of the girls who followed me around like a puppy. For Ravenclaw there was Amos Diggory and one of the Privati twins. For huffle puff there was a fifth year boy. Gilroy Lockhart, he thinks he is the most important person in the world and that girls drool over. Really he's a fifteen year old with bleach blonde hair that looks very unnatural. He also just happens to have a huge crush on Lily. Disgusting. And then there's Tonks. Her names Nymphadora but she hated it so much that her hair goes red when someone says it. Oh yeah shes a metamorphmagus. Basically she can change her appearance. She's a 6th year who hangs out with Lily sometimes. Remus seems fairly fond of her. I think he might like her, then again this is Remus, he wont tell us anything about his love life. I think a game of truth or dare is in order.

For slytherin I look over to see snivellus and some other 7th year girl. I think her name is bonnie or something.

I see Lily sit back down after handing out the timetables. "So, any question?" I ask and 1 hand goes up. Snape. Ew.
"Yes?" Lily asks. "Why on earth would they make a mudblood a prefect. I was about to say something but Lily cut me off. "I don't know? Why would they make an ugly slime ball a prefect?" I bite my lip to hold in a chuckle. "Mudblood slut" I heard him whisper. "Alright you're all dismissed" I say while the laughter dies down from Lily's comment.

"Do you guys want to go back to our compartment. I'm sure Alice and Peter will be waiting for us to come back and take Sirius off Marlene" Remus smirks and then cringes at he thought. "Yeah sure. You coming Lily? Lily?" I look over towards Lily. She is staring out the window, I can just see the tears on her face through her curtain of hair. "Lily what's wrong?" Remus says while going over to sit beside her. "I'm fine Remus. Don't worry go back to the compartment I'll be there in a minute" I don't know how Remus is so calm. Lily Evans does not cry. Even in 1st year when she broke her leg during our first flying lesson. I see her wipe her tears and get up. "Sorry about that. Ready to go" "yeah sure, but are you alright Lily?" I ask with a concerned look plastered on my face. "I'm all good ya toe-rag" she says with a forced smile. "Alright then, let's get going" Remus walked out and Lily followed. There's something wrong and I'm going to find out.
