James POV

Oh. Oh noo. What the hell do I do Lily is having a full blown mental breakdown and all I'm doing is staring. I go over the story I heard. It was quite broken up and she said it very fast due to her panicking. What I got from it was
1. There was a death eater attack on Lily and her cousin Rachel.
2. Lily was under the cruciatus curse.
3. While Lily was down she couldn't protect her cousin and they killed her

Poor Lily. Once Lily calmed down we went back to regular conversation. It was obvious she was embarrassed and didnt wantnto talk about it anymore.

We reached Hogwarts and entered the great hall. I sat down with Sirius on my left Remus on my right and Lily directly across from me. Alice went to go sit with Frank. It's a miracle they aren't going out yet. Frank is in love with Alice and he thinks that she doesn't feel the same way. Like honestly is he that daft? She blushes like a tomato whenever he's near her. Oblivious idiots.

All the little first years file in all looking really nervous. I remember my first year sorting. Huh

*flash back to 1st year*

I entered the great hall with my new best friend Sirius. He told me that all his family was in Slytherin but he wants to be a Gryffindor. I like him a lot. On the train we met a girl with bright red hair and green eyes that sparkle like a thousand emerald. She was with a boy with long, black, greasy hair with a long crooked nose. He told the pretty girl with the red hair he wanted to be a slytherin. And she just agreed with him!!. That lead to Sirius and I throwing some insults and the pretty girl and the not so pretty boy, who's name is Sev I think? To leave. At the sorting Sirius was sorted into Gryffindor along with a chubby boy named Peter and a really tall boy with multiple scars on his face. "Potter James!" Old Minny called out. I sat down and then I head a whispering voice in my ear. "Hmm Mr.Potter, a trouble maker I see. You and mr.Black would get along splendidly" I laugh slightly knowing that already. "Brave, and very arrogant might I add" "hey" that was a bit rude "you belong in" the voice left my ear "GRYFFINDOR" it's voice projected throughout the whole great hall. The fiesty red head was put in Gryffindor and her slime ball friend was put in Slytherin (no surprise there)

*end of flashback*

I was shaken from my thoughts my Dumbledores voice booming through the great hall."Welcome students to a new year at hogwarts I will now say a few words just before the feast begins" "Cut the crap Albus I'm hungry" Dumbledore chuckled at Sirius' already used to his never ending antics. He waved his hand and sat down. I looked around and saw all the tables filling with the food that I've longed for all summer. Sirius immediately grabs for the chicken and potatoes. I wouldn't be surprised if he left nothing for everyone else. "Dis ish ta Besht fohd I've evah ad" Sirius exclaims spitting food directly at Marly and Lily. "Charming like always Sirius" marlene says looking away in disgust. "Are you too together yet? or are still just fuck buddies" we all look up Remus. It's so unlike him to say something like that. And when I say we have to look up we we really do. He's I think around 6ft 5 or 6. He has a lanky but muscular build. You have to stay fit if your going to turn into a wolf once a month. Poor Remus. It's supposed to be so painful and from his screams on the full moon I'm going to say it most certainly is. Me, Peter and Sirius became illegal animagi to help him during the full moon. It really does work, Moony is much calmer with padfoot and Prongs around. Wormtail usually just sits on his head and watches us play.

Suddenly all of the dishes disappeared. I looked beside me to see Sirius looking at where his plate was. He looked as if he was going to cry. I laughed out loud and he looked at me like I killed his mother. Not that he would care if I did. Sirius' family disowned him in the summer before our 6th year. Now he lives with me and my mum and dad. They treat him like there own son and he is in every way my brother. As soon as Sirius was upset he was back to happy as all the desserts appeared and Sirius cheered right up filling his plate with different icecream, cheese cakes, trifles and pies. When Sirius finally stopped eating all the food disappeared again. "Now that you are fed and watered, mr. Black, I would like to introduce you to your new head boy and girl" " Now would miss Lily Evans and mr. James Potter please stand up" Lily and I stood up and all of the houses cheered except obviously the slytherins. Whispers went about the hall "James Potter!!" " They chose a mudblood for head girl!!" "She'll be dead by the end of the year" he last few made me want to hex everyone in slytherin. How dare they!! I just want t-. My thoughts were cut off by Dumbledore telling us to sit down. Sirius must have seen that I was tense because of the comments. "Did you see who said it" he asks. I can tell he is angry aswell. I know he likes Lily like a sister because of all the times she's helped him out of difficult situations. "Snape and Belabitch" he laughed quietly at the use of the name we came up with for his deranged cousin. "Dont worry, they wont get near her if the marauders have anything to do with it.
"Now if you need help or to discuss any issues you can talk to your head boy or girl. You may also find it easier to contact your house prefects. So for Gryffindor we have Remus Lupin and Emile Vance." There was a polite applause throughout the hall. "For hufflepuff Nymphadora tonks and Gilderoy Lockhart" a few people chucked as Tonks' hair turned red in annoyance "You can all call me Tonks" she yelled into the hall. "Right then sorry my dear, for Ravenclaw, Amos Diggory and Lyol Pravati"
"He's a good looking fella I'll tell you that" I turned to see who's voice it was only to see Lily staring up at him with big eyes. To say I was jealous was an understatement "so you like him huh?" Mary says while shrugging her shoulders against Lily's. "Oh god no please! I'd actually rather date Lockhart than him! And that's saying something because I really do not want to date Lockhart." Relief floods through me. Phew.

"And lastly for Slytherin we have Severus Snape and Bonnie Parkinson" oh so that's what her name was. Her brother graduated in our 4th year. He was caught hexing 2nd years by mcGonagal and she was furious. I swear you could hear her from the Gryffindor common room.

"Now could the head boy and girl please wait behind. For the rest of you off to bed. First years follow your prefects please. Pip Pip." Dumbledore finnished talking and sat down again.

After all the rest of the students flooded from great hall, Dumbledore came down to talk to us.
"Now I'm sure your wondering why I made you to heads"  "yes actually" I say. I swear the man has eyes that could stare into your soul and find your deepest secrets. "Well Mr.Potter, I made you head boy because of your incredible leadership skills. I've seen the way you coach your quidditch team. Also you have matured a great deal in this past year. Also you mr. Potter are a pure blood wizard who does not care about blood superiority. This makes you an excellentrole rolemodel for students. I hope you may be able to convince some of our students that we are all equal." He explained his eyes twinkling. "And ms. Evans, you are one incredibly smart girl. I have seen the way you can take control of a situation from your years of being a prefect. Also I know that you are discriminated in many ways due to your blood status and in.... other ways. You have the ability to work through situations that most witches and wizards would never be able to. This is why I have chosen you to as heads." In other ways? Who could not like Lily? "Now are you ready to see your new dorms?"
