The next day they set off with the mysterious figure that was Resa riding at the back.

"So who are you?" Fili asked, riding beside her.

"Mind your own business."

"Well I was just asking."

"And I'm just telling you to mind your own business. My name has caused problems."

"It has?"

"Yes. More than you can imagine."

"Oh."

Later that night, Resa sat leaned against a tree, watching the camp.

"What was that?" Bilbo asked frightfully after hearing screams.

"Orcs. The lowlands will be crawling with them." Kili said.

"They come in the middle of the night, and you'll never hear them coming." Fili smirked.

Seeing that Bilbo was terrified, they laughed.

"You think night raids by orcs are funny?" Thorin shouted, causing Resa to jump.

"Kili, that's not something to joke about..." Sparkle said softly,  tears forming in her eyes.

"We meant nothing by it." Fili told his angry uncle.

"No, you didn't. You know nothing of this world."

Thorin walked away angrily, and Resa was about to follow, but decided to listen to Balin's story first.

Afterwards, Dwalin spoke up.

"At the same time, I was fighting beside Shad, Sparkle and Shimin's father. He thought he saw his other daughter Resa, who we all saw crushed when Smaug attacked. I-I saw her too. And, well, I had always been attracted to her. I never said anything for Thorin's sake. But Shad was over whelmed. he was killed when hundreds of orcs swarmed us."

Resa felt a tear roll down her cheek. Her father was dead.

She finally decided to go after Thorin. To tell him who she was.

She set a hand on his shoulder.

"What?" he demanded.

"I-I think you should know who I am now."

He turned to face her as she began to wonder how he would react. Based on the conversation she overheard the night before,  he would crush her in a hug or kiss her or both.

She pulled off her hood.

"Resa." he said softly.

She nodded.

"Why didn't you come back?! Sparkle cried for days! Your father went crazy looking for you during that war! If you had been with Dis and the others instead of faking your death, he would still be alive and Sparkle and Shimin wouldn't be as hurt as they are!"

"I'm sorry Thorin, I tried to-"

"YOU MUST NOT HAVE TRIED TOO HARD!!! IT'S BEEN DECADES RESA!!! THERE HAD TO BE SOME POINT WHEN YOU COULD COME BACK!!! You were supposed to be the strong one, not the coward!! Dolia is braver than you."

"F-fine. I-I'll just leave again. I'm sorry. J-just do me one favor; please tell Shimin and Sparkle th-that I love them. And that I'm sorry."

"Go! And you must not love them that much because you abandoned them!"

Resa put her hood back on, and she had tears streaming down her cheeks uncontrollably now, but she didn't care.

She went back to camp and packed up.

"Where are you going?" Fili asked.

"Away from here. I knew it was a bad idea to come. I knew I wouldn't be welcome for who I am."

"Who ARE you?"

She didn't answer, she just disappeared into the darkness.

Thorin came back fuming.

"Thorin, who was it?" Sparkle asked.

"Don't worry about it. It's for the best she left anyway."

"Thorin, please."

"Fine. It was Resa. She abandoned you and caused your father to go crazy which led to his death. She has not earned the right to come. She is a coward."

Shimin was ticked now.

"Did you stop to ask WHY she didn't come? How many times did we run into orcs after Smaug? Did you ever stop to think about how much you HURT her? She trusted you, loved you, and you broke her heart with that bitch Dolia!!"

"I will not be spoken to like that!!!!"

They heard a sword leave its scabbard, and turned to see Sparkle running from the camp, in the same direction Resa went. She wanted to find her sister, and thought she should be armed sice there were orcs in the area.

An hour later, Sparkle came back in tears without Resa.

"She's g-gone. I- couldn't find her." she sobbed, burying her face in Kili's chest.

Slowly, one by one, everyone but Thorin, who was on watch, went to bed, but Sparkle kept having nightmares, so she sat by the fire, lost in thought, with tears occasionally rolling down her cheek.

Thorin came to sit beside her and put an arm around her.

"I thought you missed her." she said so softly Thorin couldn't hear her.

"What?"

"I thought you missed her. I thought you loved her. Wanted her back. I-I thought you.... you.... would want to make things right after what happened with Dolia."

Thorin was silent and more tears spilled from her eyes as she continued.

"I was so close to having her back. I miss her so much, and I wish I would've known it was her. She could be in trouble,  and I can't find her."

"I'm sorry Sparkle.  She told me to tell you she loves you. I acted rashly. I was hurt that she didn't come back to us, but I deserved it. I deserved the pain after what I put her through."

Sparkle stood, as did Thorin, and she wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him tighly.

He slipped his arms around her waist and embraced her.

He kissed her forehead and sent her to her roll, but instead, she went to Kili's and layed her head on his chest as he slipped his arms around her waist while sleeping.

Thorin smiled at the scene.

Meanwhile....

"Perhaps the prisoner would like to tell us where the dwarf scum is now." Azog hissed.

"I'll never expose them to you!!" Resa spat in his face, earning another blow

"I will spare your family, but only if you reveal the dwarves!!"

Resa refused to speak and was hit over, and over, and over before she finally was knocked out.
