That night, Resa went outside and sat in a tree, and not that long after, Sparkle came out and stood about ten feet from the tree.

Even though it was dark, Resa could see the tears rolling down her cheeks.

Soon, Thorin came out and embraced her.

"I-I wonder i-if Resa would have come or not. She'd probably be more helpful than me."

"Sparkle, never think that. You aren't Resa"

"I know. Today is her birthday you know."

They were silent, then Thorin put his hands on her shoulders and observed her at arms length.

"You are beautiful Sparkle, You look exactly like Resa did. And you are strong, just like she was. Never think of yourself as any less. Keep in mind, if I had thought of you as weak, you would be in the Blue Mountains with Dis when we all would be reclaiming Erebor. Dis didn't want you to come. She wanted to make sure you were safe,  so Kili isn't  hurt like I was when Resa.... You get the point."

"I miss her too, Thorin."

"I know. Everyone who knew her does."

She buried her face in his chest and calmed down before going inside.

Resa began to wonder if she should tell them, if they were hurting this much.
