Using voltage on cathode rays,

Wilhelm Rontgen found out that day

that the light gave him an image

passing through his hand,the first x ray. 

It was then in Glasgow ,Scotland,

within a year of this discovery,

opened the first x ray department,

helping with diagnosis and so recovery.

World Radiography Day has been celebrated for over 100 years, it was on November 8th 1895 that Wilhelm Conrad Rontgen first discovered the electromagnetic radiation wavelength commonly known as x ray. He was testing the penetration of certain materials when he noticed a radiograph of his own hand. two weeks later he had produced the now famous first recorded x ray. He won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1901.
