"We're the Peaky Fucking Blinders"

Peaky Blinders is a British Crime TV Show that currently has 5 Seasons with Season 6 already in the works. The show in itself is an interesting premise as someone who lives in Asia and is a fan of historical fiction. Peaky Blinders hits every mark, from having beautiful cinematography, amazing soundtrack, and the pacing one can expect of most British shows. The action does not linger too long to become dull and Drama is well-paced that it doesn't make the viewer think of it as ostentatious and pretentious. Well, there is some degree of pretentiousness but it's a British show and they all have that posh air that we all can envy.

As a person that obsesses over Arrogant British men and their Intellect, I have to admit Thomas Shelby is one I'd be constantly reminded and consider as the opposite of BBC's Sherlock Holmes. Both men are as mentioned before, arrogant. They have are intellectual. They have eyes that make jewels look like dirt and jawlines that make angels cry. They also have a tendency to make these amazing plans that makes everyone involved want to choke the living hell out of them or feel hurt and betrayed. They are good at what they do despite some mishaps and fumbles here and there. And they also use drugs. (Don't do drugs kids.)

However, for all their similarities they are also quite different. Thomas Shelby comes from a 'poor' background and literally had rags to riches story while Sherlock Holmes comes from an aristocrat family. Sherlock Holmes is a man of scientific and logical reasoning while Thomas Shelby believes in the magic and tradition of gypsies. This, of course, was because his mother was a gypsy. The Holmes family is not as tight-knit as the Shelby's considering the fact that Sherlock was an anti-social prick until John Watson came along. Lastly, both of them attract women for their aura of danger and mystery. But whereas Sherlock uses them to further his means and didn't outright fuck them (until The Woman entered his life.) Thomas Shelby is a man whore who loves his wife but will use his 'sword' -So to speak if it means he can get what he wants.

This show has enlightened me to the fact that I am indeed a whore for British Arrogance and Accents. I am ashamed but can you really blame me when the Brits have men that look like Benedict Cumberbatch, Cillian Murphy, Tom Hiddleston, and the plethora of Hollywood actors that are British?
