"Stop crying, you're going to wet my shirt." Iridessa scowled as she rubbed a young ladies back.
"I-I'm sorry, anything with my younger brother just makes me so emotional." The brown skin girl sobbed as she wiped her eyes with a tissue. Her face free of make up and for the first time, fully clothed.
"Mmmm, gross." Iridessa mumbled as she looked out the window to see the dreary scenery of the town. She frowned at how cold and rainy it was. The roads were thick with fog as they drove.
It's not that she disliked it, she just wasn't in the mood for it. Especially when she was called in the middle of the day by Tyla, who was sobbing uncontrollably. An average height, brown skin dancer that used the stage name Twix.
From what Iridessa could understand, her little brother got into a bad car accident at school because his brakes were faulty.
Tyla was estranged from her parents considering her profession but one of his friends called her. Tyla and her little brother still kept in touch although it was in secret. So when she got the call , she immediately booked it to her home town. Her heart heavy with familial worry.
The succubus at first didn't understand why she called her, she was more than welcome to take off to go be with her brother. But it soon came to light that Tyla wanted her to come with as she was scared. After a lot of grumbling, Iridessa agreed and June packed up their stuff for at most a week.
They were going to be staying in Forks, Washington........yay.
"Thank you for coming with me Madame and June. I don't know if I would've been able to do it on my own." Tyla sniffled as she leaned on the Madame. Considering she didn't push her away, she'd soak up this opportunity. She'd be sure to brag about this when she gets back.
"You didn't really give me a choice." Iridessa scoffed as she flicked the girls forehead lightly. She scowled at the wet patch on her clothes before snapping her fingers and drying it.
"From what his friend Angela told me, he had just got the car fixed so it should've been fine. But it suddenly lost control and ran towards some girl. She said someone jumped in front of the car and pushed the girl out of the way in time but it still collided with her own truck. Tyler was sent flying despite having his seatbelt on." Tyla explained everything to the woman that wasn't sure if she was listening or not. The older of the two just watched the view outside.
"Mmm......the child isn't dead so why are you sobbing like he is?" The woman's voice asked calmly. She never understood human emotions despite being able to read them flawlessly. They didn't make sense to her.
"Madame Talia, if I may ask, do you have siblings?" Tyla asked the woman curiously as she wiped her tears with a tissue June passed back to her. The woman hummed as she thought.
"My mother was a whore, it's highly possible." She mused with a thin smile on her lips. Her kind didn't have children easily, it was against their nature. There was a reason there so few of them. But it wasn't impossible, obviously.
"Okay, is there anyone you care about?" The girl asked again as she hid her surprise. No one really knew anything about their boss as she never talks about herself. They wouldn't even know her real name if they didn't pry.
"You could say that." Pink irises caught green through the glass of the window. They softened just a bit as she looked away to once again watch the rainfall.
Tyla smiled at the energy between the couple. She always wished a love like theirs would find her. They were very lowkey with their relationship but never denied it. And Junes indifference to her career as an exotic dancer was envious. Not only did he not care, he helped her run her business.
"Well, when you care for someone deeply, no matter how big or small an incident is you always feel scared. Call it human nature but you can't help but worry and think the worse. It isn't until you verify for yourself can you feel relaxed. I haven't seen my baby brother in years Madame. This incident could've been the last time I've heard from him. So although he's alive, I can't help but sob knowing that I should've done more to see him." The dancer explained to her boss.
She was one of the few that did know about the woman being a demon of lust. So she wasn't surprised that Iridessa didn't see the meaning behind crying for loved ones. Her indifference to people crying around her was proof enough she didn't understand empathy.
"We'll will be arriving in five minutes." June broke the peaceful silence of the ride. Iridessa hummed in acknowledgment as she sat up straight.
She was here now so might as well make the most of it.
"Oh god—Don't you fucking cry."
"Tyla just open the damn door." The pink eyed vixen hissed as she leaned against her bodyguard. They had been whisper arguing with each other for what felt like eternity.
"I'm scared. What if—Tyla? What are you doing here?" The woman was cut off by an older woman's voice. It sounded both surprised and slightly annoyed. They all looked at the hospital room door to see a woman in her late forties, maybe early fifties.
She was dressed simply but modestly. If you looked at her and Tyla side by side, they'd be the splitting image of each other. The mother would just be much lighter in complexion.
"Hey, ma...... I came because Tyler was in the hospital and I was worried about him." The dancer scratched the back of her neck awkwardly. Her eyes flickering between the floor and her mother's gaze. The tension between the two was thick.
"Oh, I'm sure he'd be happy to see you." The woman gave a tight smile before turning to leave. Anyone with eyes could see she didn't want to be in the same space as her daughter.
"That's it? I was dragged out of my meeting for this? I know you're fucking lying." Iridessa grumbled as she shifted her weight. Her arms folded over her chest as she huffed.
It's not as if she wanted them to fight but for an impromptu road trip, the least they could do was argue. The town looked boring enough, give her some type of entertainment. The mother's eyes flickered over to the two she didn't notice until now.
"Who are you two? Friends of Tyla's I presume?" The older woman asked as her eyes narrowed slightly. She looked them up and down, taking in the vixens flashy attire. You could see the subtle look of disgust flash in her eyes.
"No ma'am, this is actually my boss Madame Talia and her personal guard June. Madame, June, this my mother Neveah Crowley." Tyla bit her lip as she introduced the groups. Part of her regretting bringing the woman knowing her short temper.
"Then I'll take it as you're the one that coerced my daughter into this sex work business she foolishly fell in to? Embarrassing herself and her family." Mrs.Crowley looked Iridessa up and down with a look of disdain. She looked at the woman as if she was harlot trying to seduce in broad daylight.
The owner of Novacane's eyes lit up as she looked at the woman. A wicked smile graced her lips as she stood up straight.
"Mom, that's not—Junie did you hear that? I coerced itty bitty into sex work. Could I be considered a pimp now?" Iridessa asked with a chuckle as she cut the younger woman off. She paid no heed to the pleading in her eyes.
"I heard ma'am. Should I get you a fedora and diamond studded cane?" June chuckled as he looked at the beauty. The smile on her face was radiant.
"Make em pink diamonds, they're my favorite. But as for me coercing anyone, although it's easy for me to do I had no reason to. My sex workers come willingly." She looked at the older woman. Seeing her turn red from anger because she wasn't taking this seriously.
"Mom please. Madame didn't coerce me to do anything— Had to be the devil then! Cause you chose now to come back? What, were you too busy showing off your body and opening your legs for money to come see your family?" Mrs.Crowley cut off her daughter with a glare. Her words were seething as she snapped at her. Tyla cowered and looked at the ground.
Iridessa looked at them with a blank expression. This felt more like a family dispute she had no say in. Should she back off? Should she continue mocking?
"And what's wrong with that?! It's honest money. If they're going to stare anyways, might as well get paid for it. People pay for a service and I provide, nothing illegal about it. I couldn't come back because you kicked me out! And this was way before I became a dancer! You were always against me no matter what I did!" The young girl snapped back at her mother. Her eyes turning red as she tried not to cry. Her words held generations of hurt.
Her mother used the cover of Tyla being an exotic dancer to disown her. In reality she was just one of those mothers that felt nothing for their daughters. Her son was all she needed, her gift on her. Since young, the young lady had it rough. But she endured for her little brother who cherished her with his all his heart.
Nevaeh was not pleased.
"Maybe if you stopped being such a disappointment you could come back. No daughter of mines is gonna be a hoe for a living." The older woman pointed her finger angrily. Her body trembled as she seethed. Her only daughter becoming more and more unsightly in her eyes.
"Well I guess you just don't have a daughter. I love my job and if it means I'm a hoe, so be it. The people I work with there show me more love than you ever have and I'm fine with that. So fuck you Mrs.Crowley." Tyla chuckled as she looked the woman straight in the eye. She knew there was no point and trying to explain herself. There was no point in telling her story and how she felt abandoned.
Her mother had never cared for her, even kicking her out when she needed her most. So like any cliche, Madame Talia happened to find her and gave her a place to stay. She gave her a family. Ever since then she's been happier than ever.
Why would she give that up?
The old mother seethed as she raised her hand intending to hit the girl. It was caught and forced behind her back. She screamed out in pain but it was ignored.
"Let me go! How dare you?!" The mother screamed as she flailed in the man's hold. She attempted to stomp on his feet but it was useless.
"Don't need you damaging my sex worker. If you think your hands are useless I don't mind getting rid of them for you." Iridessa swept her gaze over to the woman. It was lazily and cold yet still made one's blood run still.
"June, toss her out or something until we're done." Iridessa waved her hand lazily without sparring the woman a second glance. She became even more irate as she yelled about calling the cops.
"Yes ma'am." The taller of the two nodded before dragging the woman out. He pressed a pressure point on her neck to shut her the hell up.
"Thank you." Tyla breathed out as she wiped a stray tear from her eye. She never thought she'd get the confidence to speak back to her mom even if it wasn't much.
"Eh, I was getting bored." The succubus dismissed her words. The young lady chuckled but didn't say anything more.
Iridessa looked at the trembling girl and sighed. She hugged her gently and exuded a calming pheromone. It helped the dancer relax as her nerves were on edge.
Tyla couldn't help but smile.
After a few seconds more, she separated from the other. With full confidence she turned and opened the room door. She saw her brother lying down boredly on his phone. The rooms were pretty much soundproof, meaning he didn't hear anything outside.
"Ma did you—Tyla?!" Tyler's face lit up when he looked at the door. Eyes immediately welling up with tears at the sight of his sister he hadn't seen in years. She was his absolute best friend and was heartbroken the night their mom threw her out.
The dancer ran up to her brother and hugged him. She was mindful of his injuries as she sobbed once again.
Iridessa watched the scene of two siblings reuniting silently. She felt no emotion towards it as she didn't understand the concept of sibling affection. But she was happy the girl would stop crying on her clothes now.
The woman turned away from the door and leaned on the wall as she waited for June. She occupied herself with her phone, answering emails and the myriad of text from her nosey ass employees.
"Oh my god! I love your shoes!" A shrill voice echoed through the empty halls. Iridessa was startled by the sudden noise but ignored it. She assumed they weren't talking to her.
Hurried footsteps could be heard of a handful of people. The woman's eyes flickered up from her device to see a young girl standing in front of her. She also noticed the few others standing around.
Iridessa couldn't help her face from twitching. She had a funny feeling that this was the start of something annoying.
Call her a fortune teller.........
"Hi, sorry to bother you but your shoes are to die for! Where did you get them?" A pretty brown haired and blue eyed girl stared at her excitedly. Her eyes sparkling as she patiently waited for an answer.
"I'm not sure, they were a gift." Iridessa answered honestly as she didn't know where June got them. He had gifted them to her randomly with the excuse of wanting to see her pretty smile.
Idiot.........
"Oh wow, your voice is beautiful. Which makes sense when you're insanely beautiful. So of course you'd have pretty shoes to go with your amazing outfit. I also realized—" The rambling brunette was cut off by her friend covering her mouth with her hand. Iridessa was amused at this point as she looked at the taller girl with glasses.
"I'm sorry about her. Jessica loves to hear herself talk sometimes. I'm Angela by the way, are you here to see Tyler?" The tall light skin girl hugged the girl named Jessica to her side. Her hand still covering the teens mouth to most likely stop her from rambling more.
Angela was also in awe of the tall woman before her. She was unfathomably beautiful to the point she would be more surprised if she wasn't a model. She wondered how she knew their friend in the hospital and why he didn't tell them about her.
"Not at all. I don't even know who that is." Iridessa answered honestly as she leaned back onto the wall. She didn't know who Tyler was until about five minutes ago.
"Then what are you doing hang around a random teenagers hospital room?" A bland voice mumbled lowly. It sounded as if they were talking to themselves yet everyone heard them.
Iridessa's eyes flickered over to a pale girl with messy brown hair. Her pink eyes flashed quickly before dying down. There was a particular aura around the girl that made her skin crawl.
"I brought his sister here. Since I'm not familiar with the boy I didn't think I should intrude on their reunion, if that's okay with you?" The sucubbus dryly explained to the girl. Watching as she blushed slightly in embarrassment.
"Mmm." The adult hummed seeing the timidish girl not reply. She always thought it was odd how people spoke under their breath but became silent when being confronted.
The dancer didn't really care though. This interaction wasn't all that important for her to get upset over. What others thought didn't matter to her.
Iridessa pushed herself off the wall to walk away from them. She was going to go find June as he was taking an extremely long time. She at least wanted to check into the Airbnb or something that didn't involve the smell of hospital.
"Are you a stripper too?" The bland girl blurted out randomly before the woman could walk away. The brown skin woman stopped in her tracks at the sudden question.
"Isabella?! What the fuck?!" Angela hissed at girl as she stared at her wide eyed. Jessica also gaped at the girl they hadn't know for long. Neither of them expecting her to ask such a question to a complete stranger.
"What? Isn't Tyler's sister a stripper? I was just curious since they came together." The brunette now known as Isabella asked awkwardly as she sort of cowered away from the girls eyes.
She didn't see what was wrong with her asking a simple question. It's not like asking a question could offend anyone. She was just curious about the unknown woman's identity.
"Even if you're curious, that's not how you ask someone." Angela rolled her eyes at the girl. Did she not understand social norms and how to talk to people?
"I am." Iridessa interrupted the teenagers with her simple answer. It made the three girls look at her with mixed emotions. Two of them surprised while the third was somewhat disgusted.
"Why? Don't you feel embarrassed selling your body like that?" Isabella couldn't help but ask. There was a hint of repulse in her tone but it was subtle enough to not catch. The demoness did though, but it wouldn't be the first time.
"It makes money. People are going to stare anyways so why not make money off it." The woman shrugged giving a half assed answer. She didn't feel the need to explain how she owned the club and didn't actually dance often. Nor did she need to explain that exotic dancing wasn't all that lecherous.
It was just a job at the end of the day. The service industry to be exact.
Isabella still felt disrelish for the woman. It was just weird that she was so comfortable with showing herself for a few dollars. Did she not respect herself? Did she also have unloving parents? How would she ever find a boyfriend?
The pale girl could never see herself doing something that low. It was filthy in her opinion. She was no better than a prostitute in her eyes.
"I think exotic dancers are cool. It's the same as being a lingerie model if we're honest. Plus pole dancing looks like fun, your arm strength has to be insane." Jessica smiled as she turned back to the older woman. She wasn't trying to kiss up to the woman as she really did think strippers were interesting. It took bravery to do what they did and she knew not everyone could handle it.
To her, it really was just another way of making a living. Men were going to stare so why not make them pay for it. Not that she would be one, but she had respect for them.
Angela felt the same way but didn't say anything.
"Madame, apologies for the delay. The sheriff got involved." Junes voice broke through the silence of the hospital halls. The group of females turned towards the tall and good looking man. The younger were in awe of his presence. Paying no attention to the other man next to him.
June walked up to the brown skin woman with a warm cup in his hand. He handed it to her before placing a kiss on her cheek. His other hand finding its place on the small of her back.
Iridessa smiled lightly as she practically melted at his actions. He always seemed to know what she needed before she did. She turned towards him and pecked his lips, making him follow after hers. She giggled lowly at his actions.
"Thank you Junie." She spoke lightly as she stood more in his side. The two completely forgetting about the crowd of strangers around them.
Angela and Jessica were squealing in their hearts. Although they didn't know these people, it was like watching your favorite celebrity couple. They just looked too good together and made outsiders envious.
Isabella on the other hand......she was appalled. Although she didn't show it on her face, somewhat, she was taken aback by this.
How could someone like her have such a good looking boyfriend? Did this handsome man not know what she did for a living? Wasn't being a stripper technically cheating?
Questions swirled in her head as she stared at the couple. She had no clue she was mumbling to herself. Her questions being heard by everyone.
The atmosphere tensed up as June glanced in the direction of the girl. He smelt a familiar stench from her but that wasn't his main priority. He was angered by the fact that this plain looking girl so boldly insulted Iridessa's character solely based on her profession.
"Isabella Marie!" The voice of the sheriff boomed next to the couple. It startled the girl that just now noticed her father.
She looked at the man cluelessly. Not at all understanding why everyone was looking at her in such a peculiar way. It's not like she said anything out loud.
"It's fine sheriff. Everyone is entitled to their opinions or whatever. Nor do I argue with children." Iridessa swept her eyes over Isabella one last time before looking at the man in uniform. She had to admit he was a very attractive man. He was no June but he didn't seem like he disappointed.
Charlie who was embarrassed by his daughter's crude words looked at the woman. For a moment he felt his heart race before it died down. He cleared his throat before looking at the young girls again, putting on his stern look of a cop.
"I'm here to get everyone's statement from today."
"What did you do with Tyla's mother?" Iridessa asked the man moving things around her. She pushed up her shades as she laid in the sunshine calmly. The cool lake air feeling refreshing on her skin.
"Love it's been a whole day and you're just now asking?" June looked at the woman with amusement behind his own shades. His torso covered in a light sheet of sweat from working under the scorching sun.
"I forgot, too busy ignoring the girl that assumes I'm just a gold digging whore." She shrugged her shoulders as she popped another piece of mango in her mouth. Her mind wandering to the sheriffs daughter she met only briefly.
While Officer Swan talked to all the teens about what happened, June and Iridessa slipped away from the hospital. They knew Tyla would either stay there or call them when she was ready to go.
The couple had no reason to stick around so they went wandering around the small town. If they were going to be forced on this vacation, they might as well have fun.
So when they stumbled across the vast lake of forks, they figured they'd take advantage of it. June rented a boat for the next day to go fishing while Iridessa rested. A simple and relaxing date of sorts.
"Close enough." June teased the seductress that glared at him. Her glossed lips twisted into a sneer. He could see the pink glow of her eyes behind the dark designer shades she wore.
"Fuck you." She spat out turning her head from the man. He laughed at her upset expression and walked over to the woman. June hovered over her and ran his hand up and down her exposed thigh. It sent chills up her spine as her stomach flipped.
"What's the water version of the mile high club?" The vampire asked as he lowered his face towards her. He placed slow kisses near her ear and trailed them down her neck. His hand sliding up to her waist.
Iridessa felt like a puddle of a woman as his touch sent electricity throughout her body. She could smell the lust exuding from him. It was sweeter than the normal smell of lecherous beings. Her hands laid on his chest as she dragged them up to his shoulders.
"Why don't we find out, Junie~" The vixen purred as she batted her eyes at him.
The green eyed male felt his pupils dilate looking at the love of his life. His other half on this wretched earth.
He went to kiss her but felt his back slam against the floor of the boat. A bell like laughter followed as he blinked. His eyes that were staring at the clear blue sky looked over to the woman holding her stomach.
Oh?
Iridessa yelped when she was suddenly scooped up.
"Put me down!" She yelled but it was mixed with uncontrollable laughter. She gripped onto his neck seeing as he was trying to dump her into the lake. If she was going down, they were going down together.
"Haha, want me to do that to you Charlie?" A man laughed catching the two by surprise. They turned around to see the sheriff walking along side a tan man in a wheelchair.
They both immediately recognized him as a werewolf. Although his aura was faint from the years of not shifting, it was undeniable.
"I'd love to see you try." Charlie Swan rolled his eyes at his best friend. The wheelchair bond man laughed heartily as he rolled towards their little fishing boat.
The cop looked at the couple again and was surprised. He wasn't expecting to see the two from yesterday out on the lake.
"Morning Sheriff." June nodded at the male as he put Irisdessa down. His arm wrapped around her waist as he held her close.
"Morning. Came to enjoy the lake weather too?" The older man smiled at the couple. It was an awkward smile as he was still embarrassed from his daughter's behavior yesterday.
"Of course. Thought I'd take advantage and get some fishing in. How about you?" The vampire asked the man. Iridessa looked at her mate with surprise.
When did he become so buddy buddy with people? His mean ass.
"Same here. I've been plucking these waters for years, it's one of the only things to do in such a small town." The man chuckled as he looked at the sparkling waters. Thinking about the years of life he spent out here just drifting.
"Tell me about it." Iridessa mumbled as she rolled her eyes. She's bored as hell here and it's only been a day. This was the most excitement she's seen in 24 hours.
Charlie chuckled at the woman's words. He couldn't blame her for her lack of enthusiasm for their corner of the world. He too gets tired of it.
"Anyways, I'll let you two get back to your alone time. It was nice running into you two. Apologies again Miss for my daughter's insensitive remarks." Charlie smiled awkwardly as he rubbed the back of his neck. His ears red from embarrassment.
"You're fine Officer Swan. It truly doesn't bother me." Iridessa shrugged it off as she had long since forgotten the matter. It was such a minor issue to begin with.
The male said no more and nodded his head. If she wasn't going to press the matter neither would he. With that he started to take his leave.
"Bad news Charlie, the motors broken." The wheelchair bound man came back over. He wiped his hand on arag to get rid of the sticky oil. A frown of disappointment on his face.
Not that he was surprised, Charlie had been hanging onto this boat for years.
The sheriff felt his shoulders slump. The once excited man was over run by grief. He didn't get time off often and now it was ruined.
"Well then, I guess that's that." He sighed before picking up his tackle box. Sure he could've just sat on the docks but it wasn't the same. So there was no point in staying here. He'd just got to the local bar or something.
June looked at Iridessa and she looked at him. Her face twisted in confusion. She let out a sigh and rolled her eyes before leaning into him more.
Who is this man and where is her Junie?
"Why don't y'all come with us?"
