The alarm clock went off at 7:30 this morning and on a Monday. Today I was starting a new school in plums ville. I was to start one month after school started in August during my junior year of high school. It's been 8 years since mom died. I miss her everyday. But I still smile.

I woke up and turned off the clock. I groaned sleepily.
" Can't believe I am starting school today in a brand new town." I muttered.
My dad and I moved around a lot since mom died. So I didn't get to make friends too often.

I lazily got out of bed and went to go shower.
Not much of my stuff was unpacked yet. My dad claims we're staying here until I graduate from high school but I don't believe him.
Once I am done showering, I put on a black mini skirt with black socks and and high heel boots with a white shirt and red jacket.
I then put my hair into two long ponytails with beaded hair ties and pink and white ribbons in each ponytail that was the same length as the ponytails. My hair had grown to the end of the butt. So girls were jealous of my long hair. But it was okay though for I was 5'8. After I was done with that I went down stairs and entered the kitchen.

I noticed a note on the counter next to the sink. It read: Lilly, sorry I am not here to have breakfast with you this morning but my new job called me asking me to come into work early at the hospital. hope you have a good first day at your new school. Love dad. P.S. Happy 16th birthday.
Yep that's right. I forgot it was my 16th birthday today.
Well happy birthday to me I guess.
I make some eggs for breakfast then got some orange juice too. After that, I got ready for school. I walked out to the bus stop near my house. My house was an old Victorian styled house that dated back to the 19th century. The town was pretty small but still big for a normal looking town. As I was waiting by the bus stop, I see a white Honda drive by heading in the direction of the school. I thought to myself, it must be a student driving. And the car was pretty clean too.
Just as I thought that, the school bus pulled up. the school was some distance away from my house so I had to take the bus there. I got onto the bus and found a empty seat and sat there. For a second, I thought I saw a shadow as the bus began to leave the bus stop. I shake my head and shrugged it off.

I looked out the window. I didn't notice the other kids were staring at me, wondering who I was nor had the guts to talk to me. I didn't seem to mind it since I normally didn't talk to people that much. The bus after maybe 10 to 15 minutes arrived at Plums ville high school. The other kids got off the bus first. After I was the last one to get off the bus, the bus took off.
The school was pretty big like some of the old schools I went to. It even had lockers. I start heading to the office to get my classes. After I got my classes and walked out of the office, I began to feel strangely dizzy and tired. But through all of that haze of dizziness, I somehow got to my locker. I opened my locker and got my things for my first class: math. when I closed the locker and began heading to room 102, I bumped into someone.

The person I bumped into was a girl. She had long blond hair with pale skin. She wore a white hair band that matched her white jacket and shoes. Under the jacket was a pink shirt that went with a black skirt and socks. She also had blue eyes.
" Watch where you're going, new girl." She says.
" I am sorry." I say.
" Yeah you better be." She says before walking down the hallway. I noticed people were watching me. I panicked. I looked left and right for a bathroom. Thankfully, I found one near me and ran inside. As soon as I did, I was spotted by two girls. One of the girls was African American and the other was Asian. The Asian looked at me and said " what do you want?" I say nothing. Then the other girl looked at me and said " well whatever. she is clearly new around. My name is Blair and this is next to me is Hannah."
They both flipped their long hair and then walked out of the bathroom.

They wore similar clothes of the girl I bumped into earlier. I relaxed and then walked out the bathroom. When I did, everyone had stopped staring at me. I proceeded to walk to room 102 again. Once I entered I found a empty seat in the back of the room. I sat there when everyone started to walk in when the bell rang. The teacher mr. Janes walks into the class.

Mr. Janes spotted me and says " I see we have a new student. What's your name?" " My name is Lilly shadow kiss." I say.
He writes down my name on the attendance sheet. " Ok now that has been settled. Lets make sure we all kindly welcome Lilly in our class." He says to the rest of the class. He then proceeded to call out everyone's name on the attendance sheet.
" Brian Roseshadow. are you here?" The teacher says.
Nothing. The teacher sighs. " Guess he's late again." He says. As he puts the word late on the attendance sheet. Just then Brian walks in to the class. Brian had black hair and hazel eyes. He was maybe 6'1. he had pale skin as well. Well to be honest, I don't even know if this kid is Brian.

This kid was well build and pretty good looking too. But then I noticed all of the girls in the class begin to blush at him. Jeez this guy is a total babe magnet. I whisper to the guy in front of me.
" Hey is that kid Brian?" I say. the kid turns around and says " yeah he is. Why do you like him too?"

" No. But is he one of the popular kids here at school?" I say. " Yeah he is one of the popular kids at school. The girl that you met in the hall was named Dylan. she is the most popular girl at school. So watch out for her. She also hangs out with Hannah and Blair." He says before turning back around.
So I guess I better watch out for those three girls then if I want to stay out of trouble. As the teacher was talking to Brian,

I noticed something odd by the door. It looked like a human shaped shadow but it also looked like it had wings behind it. But then in a second the shadow disappeared from sight. I turn my attention to the front of the class. For a spit second I thought I saw Brian staring at me. I quickly look out the window to avoid eye contact. " Ok brian. you can take your seat next to Lilly now." The teacher says. Brian says ok and walks over to where I am sitting and sits next to me. I sat next to the window. " Ok. everyone. lets open our books to page 15 and start working on multiplying x to the equations. We will work in partners at our tables." The teacher says. Everyone begins to talk to each other about either their weekend or page 15 of the textbook. I on the other hand, starting doing the math problems. The worst part was that I was being stared at Brian. I looked up and said " Do you need something?"

" No. I was thinking how cute you look." He says.
" Thanks. But that comment isn't going to score you any points with me." I say.
" Oh. why not? I thought every girl in the school liked me?" He says.
" Yeah well, not me." I say.
" Well. We'll see about that." He says grinning.
I shuddered a little.
" Are you cold?" He says.
" I am fine." I say.
I hadn't noticed he wore blue jeans, a black t- shirt, red shoes and a black jacket before.
He kept staring at me while the class continue on with the math lessons planned by the teacher.
But I also noticed how people in the class were noticing it too. The girls even more than the guys. I had heard a girl mutter something to her friend then passed a note to Brian.

I saw him open the note. I quickly sneaked a peak at the note while Brian was getting up to sharpen his pencil. The note read: Quit staring at the new girl. Just because she's cute and has big boobs, doesn't mean you need to fuck her up.
I was utterly grossed out by that note. not because of the person who wrote it but because of Brian who was thinking about me in that way if he thinking about me in that.

Brian sat back down at the desk. I raise my hand to go to the bathroom. As soon I left the classroom, I looked back into the class to see if anyone was staring at me. Of course it was Brian who was staring at me. I turned my attention back down the hall and went to the restroom near the classroom. When I walked out of the bathroom. A shadow went past me and up the stairs to the second floor. I thought at first it was a person. But then I thought my mind was playing tricks on me.

As I was walking back to class, a hand came out of no where and grabbed me by the shoulder. it was Dylan.
" I got texts, saying that Brian was staring at you in class. Stay away from him. he's mine." She says.

" I wasn't planning on taking him from you. and I plan on staying away from him too." I say.

" Good. Glad we came to a agreement then." She says smiling before walking back to her class.

Oh man. Another problem with her I thought.

After school, I went home to do my homework. The next few days were kind of the same way as well.

Brian would continue to stare at me in class and in the hall. The more he stared at me or tried talking to me, I would ignore him or avoid him. Then it was Friday after school back at my house. It was 7:30 at night and dad had to work late tonight. I had already eaten dinner. I had began to see the shadows more clearer now since the first day. They looked like people.

But I had ignored them as well. So anyway, I just finished my homework when the doorbell rang.
I got up from my desk and went to answer the door.

I opened the door and saw Brian standing there. He wore jeans,blue shoes and a green shirt. I wore a blue skirt with a white shirt and white socks. My hair was in the same way it was on Monday. " Brian. What are you doing here?" I say a little pissed.
" I wanted to see you. That and I need help on my math homework." He says.
" Fine. Come on in." I say.
He smiles and walks in. I sat down at the kitchen table with him.
" Aren't you going to get your homework?" He says.
" I am already done with it." I say.
" Oh." He says. After maybe an hour of me helping him with his homework, he was done with it. As I was standing up to get past him so I get show him out the door, he pulled me in closer to him and kissed me. He placed his right hand under my chin and his left hand on my butt. Surprisingly,I kissed him back. my arms wrapped around his neck. Once I realized I made a mistake in kissing him, I pulled away. " What's wrong?" He says.

" It doesn't feel right." I say.
" Why doesn't it feel right?" He says.
" We don't really know each other well enough to make out. Besides you're dating Dylan?" I say. " What!? I am not dating Dylan. What made you get that idea?" He says.
I explained to him what happened in the hallway at school on my first day.

" That bitch. She'll pay." He says.
" Brian. I want to know why you kissed me?" I say.
" What? You haven't noticed yet? I am in love you. I have been in love with since you first came to school on Monday." He says. " Brian- I- I can't go out with you. I am sorry. I just don't feel the same way as you do." I say.

" Yeah me too. It was a mistake coming here,thinking that you would feel the same." He says getting mad.
" Brian- I-" I say.
" No. don't say anything. I get it. You don't feel the same way. I'll go now." He says. He grabs his stuff and leaves the house, closing the door behind him. I just stand there for a few seconds and slide against the counter and sit on the floor crying, thinking about what happened. But one question lingered in my mind: what happens next?
