Snowflakes fell from the sky in clumps. They landed on your eyelashes and melted on your rose tinted cheeks. Your winter attire couldn't keep the blistering wind from making you shiver with chills.

It was a Saturday afternoon. You remember it so perfectly. So perfectly you could remember the pattern of the snowflakes that rested on your gloves. The shape of the steam coming from your paper coffee cup that you got from some cheap, local cafe.

You weren't used to the area since you recently arrived in Jeju, South Korea just days before. Your household had to move because of a company one of your parents worked at was bought out by different owners in Jeju. Since they were high up in the chain, they were required to be there at the company's headquarters.

All your friends were left as memories of your past. It was hard to contact them now, and you knew they would eventually slip away. It was lonely for you in Jeju.

Your family had to quickly pack up everything and buy an apartment in the city. The location was nice and accessible to great shops and places to eat. That was the morning you started your morning tradition of walking to the closest cafe to get something warm to drink and wake you up.

Your head hung low to keep from the cold. The apartment wasn't too much farther away.

You suddenly came into contact with something in your path, causing you to flinch back. You placed a hand on your hat to keep it from falling off while you looked up with surprise. A guy stood there, a smile forming on his face.

"You might want to watch out," he warned you jokingly. It was the first person from Jeju to actually talk to you, not that you've had much of an opportunity for social interaction.

But for some reason, it felt special.

His eyes had a certain glint that you couldn't get out of your head. His cocky grin. The snowflakes in his hair.

"I'm sorry," you quickly apologized.

"Why are you out in the cold?"

"I could ask you the same thing."

He tilted his head to the side with a short huff of amusement. "Touché." The guy didn't stick around. He picked up where he left off and slid passed you.

You turned around to watch him. "I'm (y/n), by the way," you introduced. "I just moved here."

"Good for you." His words dripped with sarcasm. "I'm Donghyuck, but I guess you can call me Haechan."

Haechan glanced back to you one more time, sending a skip in your heart.

Let's meet again, Haechan, you thought.

Let's meet again, (y/n)...
