You take her hand and smile back at her. "I guess you want to know everything". You nod quickly at her, which makes her laugh. "We met by chance. I was carrying some boxes because you know I was moving and he, saw that it was very tiring for me and that's when he helped me and I think it was love at first sight". You immediately jump up and bounce around in circles "OMG! That's so sweet. I so hope it works out for you". "I hope so too" she says to you and then looks around first. She sees your computer with your application. "Did you find anything?" she asks you curiously. "There is a vacancy at ArtLife, as a secretary and I just want to apply there I hope I can come to the audition". She looks at me in horror and has her mouth slightly open, "what is" you ask lightly. "ArtLife is one of the biggest companies in New York, if not the biggest. I even heard the boss is a real player". You look at her a bit puzzled, because you can't imagine that in such a company, the boss should be a player. "I think that's just a rumor" you say to her and look at your hands because you are a bit hesitant to send your application now. "Hey, you send this application and see what happens. I don't think you want to live with your brother forever. Where is he anyway?" she asks you, looking where Harrison might be. You get up and go to her. Leo is still asleep so you move slowly to Evie. "Haz is at work as usual and probably won't be home today either. He's flying to London tomorrow" you say to her, which also makes a little tear run down your cheek because you really miss spending time with him. Your parents don't live in New York, which means you can't even go to your parents when you miss Haz. Evie sees that you're sad, so she takes you in her arms and hugs you tightly. "I know how much you miss him. I can understand that. How about you just give him a call tonight. I mean, he has to have time for you sometime" she says in a soothing voice. You nod and break free from her embrace. "I have to go now. I'll bring Leo by at 7pm just like his stuff". With that she lifts her son up and walks out the door. Now you're alone again and looking at your phone. You think about whether to call Haz now or later. You decide against it, because he is one hundred percent at work now and he wouldn't have time to talk to you on the phone now. You go back to your computer and read over your application and send it off. You can't really believe it yet. Are you going to tell Haz or are you going to surprise him with this. But as long as you don't know if you'll be accepted somehow, you'd rather keep it to yourself. You go back to the couch and turn on Netflix. You watch a lot of Christmas movies. It's still a little while until Christmas, but Christmas movies are some of the most beautiful movies there are. While watching the movies, you realize how long you have been single. Your last relationship was six years ago. That was quite a while ago, but every time you brought someone along, they had to get past Haz first, and that wasn't exactly easy. After three more Christmas movies, the doorbell rings. Evie is standing in front of you in a very nice black dress. "I'll pick him up again at 10 pm. I hope that's all right. He would still need to be fed" she tells you and hands you Leo, who smiles at you. "That's perfectly fine. Have fun sweetie, but not too much because this little guy will do" you say to her and tickle Leo who starts laughing sweetly. She hugs you briefly and gives you all the stuff, then she disappears again and you go in with Leo. You put her things down and go into the kitchen and put Leo down on a high chair. Since you've taken care of Leo before, you have a few things still here. "Okay little boy, what do you want to eat? Are you hungry for pasta?" He raises his hands and smiles at you "Noodles". You have to laugh and go to the cupboard to get some noodles, you realize but that you have none left "I guess that means we have to go to the supermarket together". You take Leo out of his chair and put on his jacket and shoes. You lift him up and walk with him to the elevator. He can walk, but you are still a little cautious about stairs that are nearby. When you reach the bottom you quickly go down to the basement and get his car seat. Then you go to the car and buckle Leon into his child seat. You go to the other side and drive off. After 20 minutes of driving you both finally arrive. You take him out of your car and go in with him. Leo drops his toy in the supermarket, which you don't catch right away. "Excuse me. I think little man dropped his toy". You turn around and look into beautiful brown eyes.
