The Devil
Tony POV
"Why are we waiting for dark?" I ask Natasha clearly annoyed.
"I told you this," She treats me like a child, "We need to meet up with someone who has more intel on the area than we do."
"And you're just trusting Jessica Jones set this up?" I send a glance at her as we walk to the elevator to go down to my workshop.
"I never trust anyone" She scoffs at me as she presses the correct button. I labeled it, 'Amazing Weird Exciting Super Office (for) Manly Experiments.' AWESOME for short.
"Well, duh. I know that. But do you think she is going to hold true to her promises?"
"Obviously you don't understand me." She stalks out of the elevator when the doors ding open "I thought even an idiot like you could be able to tell this by now. I am a spy. I always go in expecting the unexpected." She glances back at me after she reaches her section of one of the walls.
When I'm down here, I do whatever I can to calm myself. And to do that, I need to be creating things that will be able to protect me and other when things go wrong. One of these nights of terror, I cleared out a section in the long wall and made room for each Avenger to have a locker of sorts. They can come down here and see new gadgets I have created or to access their suits which is why Thigh Crusher and I are here right now.
"How can you expect the unexpected when you don't know what to expect?" I curiously walk after her, going to the other end of the room to where all of my suits are to find my new prototype.
She just ignores me as she picks up her new Widow Bites I've made. They have different settings that include various levels of intensity and use (regular, firing missiles, and venom). They now have a screen that is a small computer that acts like Jarvis for her with options to have a hologram or just a screen. She naturally gravitates to these objects and selects a slightly different suit than what she is wearing.
For me, I've been working on a suit that is like my suit that hides into a briefcase but making it smoother and combining the tech with the sensors in my body and my watch. It's still a work in progress so I end up grabbing the older model for the briefcase and the watch. Hopefully, I won't need any when we meet this guy.
"Let's go." Momma Spider was already changed and had all of her weapons stocked in the various holsters around her body. I barely have time to double check my suit before she is over at the elevator getting ready to hit the button to go to the garage.
"Why are you in a rush anyways?"
"Do you normally ask this many questions? It's more annoying than usual." She pauses, "And that's saying a lot for you."
I act like I'm hurt as I join her in the elevator, "I thought you loved my questions!"
"What on earth ever made you think that?" She runs her hand through her hair.
"Well, it took an Asgardian..."
She sighs and exits the elevator to one of the many cars in the garage.
"Why the Honda Civic?"
"It's a common car, yet sturdy if something happens. We can't take one of your Porsches because it's too flashy." She says in a 'duh' tone.
We silently drove to Hell's Kitchen to meet this mystery character that the Russian is telling no details on. We pulled into a public parking area at the base of an apartment building.
"We are going up to Alias Investigations to meet Jessica. Don't talk to her. She already seems in a bad mood."
"Doesn't that mean I need to talk to her? I always lift a woman's spirit. I mean, look at me."
"I'm pretty for sure they are most happy when they aren't looking at you."
I ignore her as we go upstairs to meet Jessica. It takes a few minutes for the elevator to fully cooperate. I notice blood on the ceiling. It's old, suggesting it never was cleaned up properly.
At the end of the hall is a door with a broken glass window at the end of the hallway, Jessica sits on the other side at a desk drinking from a bottle.
"He's on the roof. Good luck." Jessica takes another sip when she looks up at us, not moving a muscle.
"So it's a he?" I ask. Jessica Jones rolls her eyes, something Thigh Crusher has been doing a lot today.
"Come on, idjit." Thigh Crusher enters the elevator again and selects the highest it will go.
When we make it onto the roof, we both become alert, communicating a plan just in case something goes wrong.
I take two steps out into the darken night when I see him. A guy that has horns on his head and is wearing all red. Even in the dark, it is easy to see the color. What's weird is his mask covers his eyes completely. There's this red film over the guy's eyes, but I could tell what it was.
"Your plan isn't going to work for many reasons." He starts to talk as he takes a step down from his position on the ledge of the building, but doesn't turn to us. He looks out at the city. "I heard the entire thing, and I'm not going to act the way you guys talked."
"I knew your hearing was good, but we were in the elevator. There's no way you could have known." Natasha answers the man.
"I can hear your blood moving from this far away." He pauses and tilts his head, "Four blocks down a teenager is arguing with her mom about Prom." He stops again, now with a frown. "The teenager's heart is going 102 beats per minute and the mother just slapped her."
"Okay. I get it. You can hear things better than we can. Is that it, or should we go..?" I motion to the door.
He doesn't look at me. "You can go if you want. You know where the door is. I don't need you."
"I disagree." Great, the lady is involved. "If we do not apprehend the threat, it will destroy our lives."
"And why should I help?"
"Good question. Who even are you? Thigh Crusher hasn't told me anything about you."
"Thigh Crusher?"
"It's my nickname of Black Widow."
"That's a... um.. interesting nickname."
"So who are you?" I ask again.
"I'm Daredevil."
"Oh! The Devil of Hell's Kitchen. Didn't you do those bombings?"
"No, I was framed."
"And how can you help?"
"He knows this area better than our intel. He could be vital in finding the threat." Natasha steps in.
"I could help, but I don't know what I'm looking for. What is the problem?"
Natasha and I look at each other. Then she says, "Why don't you come back to the tower? It will be easier to show you."

I am very sorry that I promised an update last week and then I didn't deliver.
I'm in my final weeks of Junior year and I am taking the SAT and ACT.
I will do my best to update the next few weeks. But I can not make any promises.
Daredevil is one of my all time favorite superheroes. The picture with his red eyes is one of my favorites.
Thank you for reading! And as always, please tell me what you think! I really do care about what you have to say.
