Teens Rule the World*

Loki's POV

A two mortal days has past since we arrived at this "summer camp".

Percy has relocated himself to the basement. I believe it is because it is the most unfamiliar part of this camp. He hasn't talked to anyone since he woke up. I don't understand why the red headed girl said this was a good idea.

He has returned to a state of misery. I am afraid he is in a worse state than when he first arrived to the Avengers.

Last night, we all slept in the Big House living room. I am never doing that again.

The centaur, Chiron, decided to gather us together along with the leaders of each cabin.

"Come on, Reindeer Games, the horse wants us in the Rec Room." I hate when Tony calls me that.

I roll my eyes but follow him anyways. There is a table in the middle of the room with strange lines and two poles on opposite sides of the table. There are bowels of random food on the table.

"What is this?" I hear Bruce ask a gathering of twenty or so teens around the table.

"We need to talk." A short black hair girl demands. She is wearing silver clothing and has a bow and arrows on her back. Clint gives her a look of interest, especially at her bow.

"Okay, but who are these people? Why is Prissy with them?" A girl in the fifth chair over called out. She has choppy brown hair and has a red bandana on.

"They are known as the Avengers, Clarisse. They fought these aliens in New York but caused more damage than what we did." A boy in the sixth chair over, right next to the girl.

"That's rude, Malcolm." Clarisse retorts.

"Guys, stay on topic." A girl on the fourth seat, on the other side of Clarisse.

Mortals... why are we even here?

"Katie's right." A boy in the eleventh seat calls out. "Where's Percy? I thought he was back finally."

"Did noone tell you Connor?" A girl calls out to him, not looking up from her nails.

"Drew. Stop." The black hair girl calls out. "I am conducting this meeting."

Drew, rolls her eyes. "You're not even a camper, Thalia." She flexes her hand out, "I mean, why are you even here? You couldn't get away fast enough after the war."

Thalia's eyes flare with hate and a hint of regret. "I am here for Percy. He needs us."

"Wait, what about him? We are going to take him back to the tower." Steve says, very clear he zoned out.

"There is no way he is going back with you." A boy with sunny hair looked up from his fixed position. I could feel a negative vibe coming from him.

I still feel a bit offended, "And why is that?"

"He's in a worse state then how he was before he left!" The boy makes stern eye contact.

I have to break eye contact. It's true. It takes a moment for anyone to respond.

Bruce is the first to respond, "Yes, that might be the case now. But it is because who is attacking us."

"Those are excuses." Clarisse voices her opinion. "I agree with Will. Percy should stay at camp."

Most of the other teenagers in the room nod in agreement. It feels like another punch in the gut.

"As much as I enjoy seeing unity, I have to tell the truth." The oracle enters the room. "The Avengers are good for Percy. However, they will need to stay here for some time."

No one dares disagree with her. We all know the power she possesses and what she is able to do with it.

"So where are we going to stay? I am not sleeping on the couch again." Tony clears his throat. He is trying to lift the feeling of tension in the room.

"It would be okay with the gods to arrange them to stay in cabins." Chiron, who is in a wheelchair, says.

"But how should we sort them?" Malcolm asks.

"This would be a good time to have them introduce themselves. The head of each cabin will choose which hero most belongs in their house." Chiron continues.

"Why do you put us in these cabins? Thor and I are gods. We are not sorted into other gods cabins." I declare, feeling insulted we are not properly recognized.

"No one cares if you're a Norse god, idiot. You are here so you are going to be put into a Greek cabin because this is a camp for their kids." I really do not like Clarisse.

"So who is going to start?" Thalia asks.

Tony Stark is the first to go. As soon as he says he is Iron Man, a girl covered in grease calls out, "He's apart of Cabin Nine!"

Malcolm didn't seem happy, but he later was able to recruit the raging beast and Captain into his cabin.

The first thing Thor says is he is the Norse god of Thunder and a warrior. Of course it is.

No one said anything at first, only Katie suggested he stayed in Zeus's Cabin. Only to be shut down by Clarisse, saying she would take him in.

Natasha was asked to stay with the Huntresses by Thalia. These girls are the fiercest of the Nine Worlds. It would be an honor to talk to them. The spy is fortunate to be asked to join.

Hawkeye is immediately asked to join Cabin Seven. He accepts just as fast.

The girl from Cabin Twenty, who has not spoken up, politely asked me to join her cabin. She explained she was a child of Hecate. I am good friends with their mother.

Peter's was the most interesting.

"So I graduated high school early, and I designed everything I need to fight crime. With only a few suggestions from Tony."

"That's really cool." Malcolm seems fascinated by the spider.

"I'm known as Spider-Man in New York." He continues. Malcolm doesn't seem impressed anymore.

"We will take him!" Drew says a little too quickly, "If that's okay." She glances over at Chiron.

"That's okay with me." Peter shrugs, just happy to go somewhere.

I don't think he realizes who her mom is.

~^~

We all went back to our assigned cabins and met our cabin mates. Dinner quickly came and past, and I found myself back at the Big House.

I could feel his suffering all through camp. It is obvious through the campers.

Percy is their leader and protector. To have someone like that shattered and gone, especially because they were sacrificing themselves for you, is hard to handle.

I silently walk down the stairs into darkness. My eyes quick adjust to the lack of light and spot Percy curled up in the corner. His face is tight with worry and sadness. His arms wrap around his kneels pulling them as close as possible.

I advance towards him and kneel in front of him. I don't dare say a word because I know it would only do more harm at this time. He needs silence and unfamiliarity.

I close my eyes, fully accepting the darkness, and focus on the negative energy coming off of Percy.

The color of blood enters my vision. Chaos and war goes on around me, flickering between different battles and wars. Each one more violent than the last.

Some of the images show happy times at this camp. Many of them show Annabeth and other members of the Seven. They bring him a powerful recollection of his failure to them and self-hate. I can feel it radiating off of him, even if I was just starting my learning in the craft of magic.

I can see now why he is in the basement, hiding away.

It is the one place in the borders of Camp Half-Blood that doesn't correspond with her.

Hello!

I hope that wasn't too many characters. It's hard to have the usual eight, not counting Percy.

Anyways, thanks for reading!

My finger is doing a lot better, if you care.

I hope you guys are too.

And by the way, January 28 is Nico Di Angelo's birthday!

Happy Birthday!

*Or so they think. Books, actually, rule the world.
