Thoughts On Writing June 2022

So, I recently had to do some work on "Darkly Wed," and I gotta say, I'm itching to write a story from Ian's POV after the events of "Night The Vampires Came." As I looked back on Julian and Blake's scenes (which I toned down a lot in my recent edits), I realized I really miss writing the character of Julian. He's like Loki to Blake's Thor.

I would love to one day write a book about Ian losing his powers and having to deal with Orion after their father's death. I would love to resurrect Julian in a ghost form (his soul is probably trapped in that dagger that once imprisoned Villaris) and have him develop a fun relationship with Ian.

I mean, if Blake gets to absolve himself of his sins by dying at the end of "The Night the Vampires Came," maybe Julian should get a second chance to do the right thing too.

I like this idea a lot, but it's hard to sell a male-centered story to an audience of teenage girls. Ian isn't like Orion who is dark, stormy, and moody enough to sell to an audience as a "bad boy."

I love the idea of writing Ian's story but I'm afraid it's a story I'll have to save for myself, in the darkness of my mind.
