dix-huit
On the ride home from his old house, Renjun learned that the boss of the moving men was his father's close friend, whom he had met on his second try at finding a job. That's why they were so nice to him; not that Renjun was disappointed in the least. It was good to know his father had people other than work acquaintances surrounding him. That was where he was currently, at work. He worked as a solicitor, which was not surprising, as that was what he was before... before it. He was just in a position of higher importance, which was quite good.
Upon reaching his house, Renjun waved off all the men when every last box had been deposited in his room, which was considerably larger than his previous one. He was rather excited to be able to decorate it to his likes; he would have his more prized art pieces on the walls; framed too, because his father would let him. He would paint and combine his own pride flags in one piece of artwork, and maybe do one for his dad too. He couldn't wait to give his room colour.
That could only start being put into effect once he had finished unpacking though, so he got started right away. Placing the note he had retrieved onto the desk, he made a mental note to put them all together later and hide them somewhere. He emptied the boxes one after the other, and sorted all his things out neatly. He took a ten minute break whenever his side twinged or anything, just to be safe. To be honest, he didn't exactly have all that many possessions, so he was done within four and a half hours.
Considerably tired, he lay down for a little nap when he was done. Before he nodded off, he checked his phone, just to keep track of the time, to see that it was now a quarter to 3 o'clock. He decided to just sleep until say, four, and he set a timer true to that.
Little did he know that his nap was about to be cut short.

Jeno and Jaemin hadn't exactly told Renjun they were coming over. They had gotten permission from his father to come over whenever they felt like it- of course, when Renjun was at home, as long as they didn't trash the place or throw a party, which kind of went hand in hand.
Jeno cleared his throat and knocked on the door with the hand that wasn't holding Jaemin's, only to have it swing open slightly. Jaemin looked at the door in surprise, "Someone must have left it unlocked." He nudged the door open and checked inside for burglars, murderers and the likes. "All clear!" he exclaimed, and they entered the house, remembering to close and lock the door behind them.
"Where is he?" asked Jeno, after they had peeked into the kitchen and living room and found no Renjun lounging around. "Ren-" he was muffled by Jaemin slapping a hand over his mouth. "Ow! That was hard, Min!" Jaemin raised an eyebrow at the wording, then decided not to comment.
"Let's surprise him!" he suggested happily, and then it was Jeno's turn to raise a brow at him. "But we are showing up uninvited and entering his house without his knowing. He's gonna be surprised anyway." Jaemin rolled his eyes, "No, Jen. Like, boo surprise," he brought his hands up and swiftly clenched and unclenched his fingers twice like a witch or something when he said boo, to elaborate further on what he was trying to get across. "Oh, I see! Like, scare him?"
Jaemin huffed, "There was a nicer way to put it, but yeah, I guess." Jeno laughed, and Jaemin smiled at the sight. Then he pecked Jeno's nose, just because he could, and skipped upstairs, leaving Jeno to redden slightly at the unexpected display of affection, then try to shake it off and follow him up.
Jaemin was already trying to figure out which room was Renjun's, but Jeno spotted a pink sticky note on one of the doors with the words "Renjun's room" inscribed neatly upon on it in sparkly blue gel pen, in which could only be Renjun's handwriting. "Pretty. I really love his writing," commented Jaemin when Jeno called him over in a whisper. Jeno looked at him strangely, but agreed, because he loved everything about Renjun. It also looked kinda gay, which he was all for.
Jaemin opened the door quietly, and saw one of the cutest thing that he had ever been graced with witnessing. He motioned for Jeno to look at Renjun in a frenzied movement, almost knocking over the pile of boxes stacked near the front of the room. Renjun was wrapped up in his blanket like a little burrito, with his hair all sticking up on one side of his head and his mouth curved up into a small smile; maybe because of a pleasant dream he was having.
"Oh my god, he's adorable- help me, Jaemin. I think I'm gonna fall over," Jeno feigned fainting onto Jaemin's shoulder. Jaemin just snorted and quickly pushed him off, resulting in knocking him into the pile of boxes. Jaemin and Jeno watched in horror as they all came tumbling down, landing on the floor extremely loudly in contrast to the complete silence the room was in before.
Renjun awoke with a start. Bleary eyed, he muttered "What the fuck just..." Then he saw two figures standing in front of the door, and his eyes widened. "What the fuck!" They then came into focus, and he recognised his crushes, Na Jaemin and Lee Jeno, who had just seen him sleeping-
"What the fuck!" he yelled, bringing his blanket up to his neck, for some reason. What if they had seen him drooling? What did his hair look like? What if he had been in a weird position? What if he had been talking about the dream he was having? They could not know about Fifi...
The pair watched in confusion as Renjun wiped at his face and pat down his hair. "Surprise...?" questioned Jeno, then watched in alarm as Renjun's mouth fell open in sudden realisation. "How did you even get in here?" he asked, tilting his head with a suspicious look upon his face.
"Never mind that," cut in Jaemin, waving his hand dismissively, "What's important is that you look so fucking cute when you sleep that I can't believe it." And just like that, Renjun's cheeks were on fire again. Jaemin resisted the urge to coo with some difficulty. Jeno cooed anyways, though Renjun (hopefully) didn't notice.
"Sh-shut up!" he stuttered, getting louder at the end, though his cheeks were still cherry red. "Do- do you want to come sit down?" he added as an afterthought. Jeno laughed and shook his head, nearly sending Renjun and Jaemin into hysterics. They went over to sit next to Renjun, catching up and asking him how he liked his new house, and Renjun felt comfortable and happy enough in their presence to stop worrying about how he looked.
Jaemin and Jeno could not bring themselves to tell Renjun his hair was a mess; but only because he looked absolutely adorable, and they feared he would try to fix it. This might be the only time they would ever see him like this, right after waking up, with his hair everywhere and surrounded with blankets and Moomin plushies.
Jeno's mouth was getting drier by the minute, on the other hand, due to all the laughing and incessant talking. "Hey, can I get some water?"
Renjun nodded with a little smile, and pointed to the filled jug and glass on the desk. "Don't worry, I haven't drunk from that glass yet, so you can use it." Jeno nodded and stood up, stretching slightly (Renjun pretended not to notice Jeno's shirt ride up a fraction while Jaemin openly stared at the guy). Jeno walked over to the desk, taking the glass and the jug in each of his hands, and filling it up halfway before he noticed a piece of paper on the desk. A note. A note he recognised.
Jeno didn't know his glass was overflowing. He put it and the jug down before his shaking hands could drop them. "J- Jaemin? Could you- could you c-come over here a sec?"
Jaemin frowned at Jeno's stumbling way of speech, knowing immediately that something was wrong. Had he spilled the water on his shirt or something? He looked at Renjun, who looked equally as confused, and stood up, walking over to Jeno to see what was up.
Jeno just pointed at the piece of paper for Jaemin to understand. They both turned to Renjun in horror.
That's when Renjun realised his dire mistake.
He had left his note on the desk.
