Sophia finds her new accidental boyfriend in the hallways after class and walks towards him with purpose. She takes a deep breath, preparing herself to be yelled at by him when she breaks off their five-minute relationship.

She sees Ethan across the hallway and stares longingly at him as he talks to his crush, head cheerleader, Carmen Brice.

"Hey there, girlfriend!" The boy Sophia accidentally asked out, Noah, finishes at his locker and sees him standing behind it. He links arms with her and walks towards the front exit.

"Listen," Sophia takes a deep breath. She really isn't looking forward to doing this. Noah actually seems pretty excited about this new relationship they formed five minutes ago.

"Me first please. Sorry to interrupt but I have to say this. I'm honestly so shocked and inspired that you asked me out. That is so 2019 of you." Noah notes how she is taking charge instead of waiting for the man to do so like women have been told so many times.

Sophia chuckles. She appreciates the compliment. Though, him complimenting her doesn't make this any easier. It only makes it harder.

"About that, the note actually wasn't meant for you. It was meant for Ethan. He sits in front of you." Sophia explains herself and waits for the backlash. Noah nods. His excited expression immediately changes.

He is just a little bit crushed by this news.

"Well, I think we should date anyways." Noah turns back to his old, excited self. He isn't going to let this minor setback stop him.

"I have to disagree. I don't even know you. We shouldn't date if I don't even know your name." Sophia tries to further remove herself from this sticky situation. She is confused as to why he even wants to date her anyways. They have never talked before.

"It's Noah." He smiles. "Anyways, think about this for a minute." He lowers his voice. "You like Ethan right?" He asks.

Sophia has to fight the urge to roll her eyes at him. "Yes, I just said that." She nods. It wasn't even two minutes ago that she told him the note was actually meant for Ethan. She thinks he is either stupid or wasn't listening to her when she spoke.

"And I like- uh, Carmen. So let's date and work together to find a way so we can both get what we want." Noah suggests his master plan. He has to find some sort of way to make this less awkward.

Having a crush on Sophia seems to mean nothing to her. She is too focused on Ethan to see that Noah clearly has feelings for her.

Sophia looks at him, confused. She has no idea what he is talking about. "How is that going to help anything? Where does Carmen even come into this?"

"You like Ethan. I like Carmen. Ethan and Carmen are dating or flirting or whatever is going on with them. Honestly, it's too hard to keep track of. But if we date, we can make them jealous and win their hearts!" Noah explains his plan further.

Though it does sound like a pretty good plan, he secretly hopes it will fail before it can even begin. Then once Sophia sees what a great boyfriend he can be, she will stay with him. That is what he hopes, at least.

"I'm pretty sure things like that only work in the movies." Sophia shoots down his plan. She isn't buying this at all. She knows this isn't a fairytale or movie. Happy endings don't happen in real life just by some pure chance. You have to work towards a happy ending in order to get one. And then it still might not even happen.

Noah shrugs. "You've seen that movie To All The Boys I've Loved Before, right? It's worth a shot thought, right? It can't hurt."

"Yes it can!" Sophia argues. "Feelings can get crushed if this relationship doesn't work out. I'm just not willing to risk that right now."

"How about this then." Noah jumps in front of her to stop her feet from going any further. "We can be strictly for show. No feelings or strings attached. Deal?" He asks, holding his hand out for her to shake.

"Deal." She slaps her hand into his and shakes it.
