Chapter 3 - Butterflies Made of Flames
~Aura's POV~
Right before us was a boy. A boy with dark black hair, messy but slightly styled in some kind of effort, with a long braided rat tail behind them and reached passed the waist.
His skin was a healthy light tan and their eyes were a dark brown, but looked slightly orange within the sunlight.
The boy named Kaden grinned, big and mischievously, as he watched the reactions of everyone in class.
I turned away and continued to look out the glass window.
Not long after, he started skipping towards next to me and sat at the desk to my right while everyone stared.
He seemed to be pretty happy with the performance he put up a while ago.

Everyone was crowding around the new kid at break time, and he had just given a flower to one of those annoying chirpy girls.
Hey, that's what you called me the first time we met. Stop being so mean boy me.
'Yeah, yeah.'
I waited for them to go away, but they never did.
The noise was getting louder and louder, it was really irritating. I got fed up with them and moved up from my seat.
"Move it."
They retreated. I supposed they would, since I had some sort of reputation around here as a delinquent or something.
As I walked through and towards the door in strides, exiting out of the classroom and away from the noisy students, into the hallway, not long after, that boy named Kaden called out to me.
"Wait up!" I ignored him. I didn't want to deal with the new kid. With no response, the kid called again. "Hey, wait up!"
Stopping in my tracks, I turned around to see the idiot who called for me."What do you want?"
Kaden smiled. "I wanted to say thanks for what you did back there. Those girls were coming a bit too close to my comfort zone, and because of you, they backed up~!"
I stared blankly at him. "You're an idiot. I didn't do that for you, they were just in my way."
"Doesn't really matter why you did it, in the end it helped me out~!"
I deadpanned at the grinning raven.
"You're a weirdo."
"That just makes me unique~!"
"I don't like you."
"That won't stop me from liking you~!"
"Go away."
"Hmm, I'll take that under consideration."
Growing more annoyed, but somehow not too annoyed, I scowled one last time before turning around and walked away.
"Whatever. Just leave me alone." I shoved my hands deep into my pockets and growled.
"My name's Kaden by the way!"
'I know that, you idiot.' I wanted to say this out loud, but somehow couldn't.
"Can I have yours?!"
I stopped again, but didn't turn around this time.
"Aura." Is all I said. He repeated my name, and stared off into the sky.

~Aura's POV~
A week had passed and Kaden had gotten popular in our school and I bet the upperclassmen had heard about him.
The idiot wasn't an idiot after all, he knew a lot of tricks. Like a magician.
Hey, don't you think that guy looks a bit like Kaitlyn Greig? The girl from Shinichi's world?
'Oh? You mean that girl the detective kid hit with his football?'
Yeah, that's Kaitlyn. Kaden kinda looks like her twin or something, even their names are similar!
'Did she have a twin? That kid was always full of secrets and mysteries even the Great Detective of The East couldn't solve.'
Nevertheless, in the past week almost everyone in our class got pranked. Switching clothes, hair dye, etc.
Lucky we didn't get our clothes switched, right Aura?
My other self asked but I didn't respond.
Well you seem happy.
Before I could answer that-
"AURA~!" 'Here comes the idiot.'
Not stopping to turn to the raven, I continued my pace, knowing that even if ignored the rat tailed boy, he would still follow.
Once caught up, Kaden grinned at me."Good morning~!"
I didn't reply back, but he didn't seem to mind or expect one from me.
For the majority of the first week, he had been following me around the place, just walking alongside me.
He suddenly ran over to somewhere, dragging me with him.
"Oi! What the heck!?" I exclaimed, watching as the raven continued to drag me by the arm towards a tree shaded area.
Once there, the rat-tailed boy released me (finally) and proceeded to twist and flop back on the grass shaded by the tree. "Relaxation~!" He sighed with an easy smile.
'He looks so happy...'
"The Hell?" I growled, watching the other lay down relaxed and content. "Why the hell did you drag me here?"
"Isn't it obvious?"
'No?'
Kaden opened an eye to stare up at me. "We're here to chill and relax~!"
'It's already relaxing with you around, idiot.' I thought.
Oh, does someone have a crush~? Hm?
'Oh shut up, you shipping bastard.'
"I never said I wanted that!" I yelled.
"You didn't have to." The black haired teen closed his eye and folded his arms behind his head as a meat pillow.
"The previous week, you had been walking around school constantly everyday because there is no place for you. You would stay back in your desk at class, but it's too packed with other students for you to really relax. Plus you like it better when it is slightly quiet and not too noisy."
'How did he know that?'
"Are you some kind of weirdo stalker?!"
"That's hurtful!" Kaden glared, but somehow he looks unoffended. "I'm just awesomely observant~!"
'Nevermind, he's just full of himself.'
"Wherever weirdo." I really wanted to roll my eyes right now. He grinned and leaned back.
"Come on, just sit back and relax would you, before break is over." He patted the free grass area of shade."I'd say we could skip on classes, but I only do that after my fifth week~"
I paused a while, then sat close to the tree and leaned back on the tree's trunk, one knee bent, arms folded and hood pulled down. We stayed this way, content to just lay around and enjoy the gentle breeze and comfortable semi quiet sounds of the students and birds.
Don't you think that Kaden is really nice to you?
'He's nice to everyone, not just me.'
Well, Kaden's the only one who has earned your trust~
'Wha- he's too clingy!'
Oh well. Let's just relax for now, shall we?
