OFFICIALLY MISSING YOU
Song suggestion : Officially missing you by Tamia
"ARE YOU FUCKING CRAZY? I WAS THIS CLOSE TO GETTING MY GIRL BACK! AND YOU CAME AND RUINED AT ALL! WHY THE FUCK DID YOU DO THAT? AND WHO THE FUCK ALLOWED YOU IN MY ROOM!"
And then I saw her sobbing, the moment I stopped my yelling. Just fucking kill me already! My head spoke as I fixed my messed up hair and then let out a strained groan.
I should not lash out on her, she has done nothing wrong. I took a deep breath, trying to reign in my emotions. Y/n's absence weighed heavily on me, and seeing Ella here, even though she meant well, only served as a painful reminder of what I had lost.
"I'm... I'm sorry... I just... It felt so real. Like I could finally bring her back."
I muttered finally, my voice quieter but still laced with frustration. Ella wiped away a tear that had escaped down her cheek. Her shoulders shook with silent sobs, and she struggled to find words to explain herself. Eventually, she managed to speak, her voice barely above a whisper.
"I didn't mean to disturb you, Logan. I just... I wanted to check on you. You looked so troubled in your sleep."
I ran a hand through my hair, feeling the weight of exhaustion and despair settle over me. Guilt washed over me for lashing out at Ella, who had only been trying to help. I softened my tone, trying to convey some level of understanding.
"I know, Ella. I'm sorry. It's just... This whole situation with Y/n, it's tearing me apart. I thought I could bring her back, but it was just a dream."
Ella nodded silently, her tears still flowing but her expression more composed now. She reached out tentatively and touched my arm, offering comfort in her own way.
"We'll find a way, Logan. We'll figure this out together,"
She said softly, her voice filled with empathy. I nodded, grateful for her support despite my earlier outburst. The weight of Y/n's absence still lingered heavily in the room, but for a moment, I felt a glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe, there was a way to bring her back.
As Ella sat beside me, her presence a quiet reassurance, I closed my eyes briefly, hoping for a moment of peace amidst the turmoil.
After the emotional upheaval in my room, I took a deep breath and collected myself. Ella, though still visibly shaken, managed to compose herself as well. I realized I owed her an apology for my outburst earlier.
"Ella, I'm sorry for yelling at you, it's just... this whole situation with Y/n, it's really getting to me."
I began, my voice sincere. Ella nodded understandingly, her eyes still red-rimmed from crying.
"I understand, Logan. I shouldn't have intruded like that."
I shook my head.
"No, you were just worried about me. I appreciate that."
Ella managed a small smile, grateful for my understanding.
"Thank you, Logan."
I glanced at the clock.
"We should get going. I promised we'd look into getting you admitted to a school today."
She nodded hesitantly, clearly unsure of what to expect but willing to follow my lead. Together, we left my room and ventured out into the modern world.
As we walked down the bustling streets towards the nearest school, Ella's eyes darted around in wonder and confusion. Everything was so different from what she was accustomed to—the tall buildings, the noisy vehicles, the people dressed in strange clothing.
"Logan, what... what is all this?"
She asked softly, her voice tinged with fear and curiosity. I took her hand gently, offering her some comfort.
"This, Ella, is the world we live in now. It's... it's called the modern era. A lot has changed since your time."
Ella squeezed my hand tightly, her eyes wide with a mix of awe and apprehension.
"It's so... overwhelming,"
She admitted, glancing nervously at the passing cars and the bright neon signs.
"It's okay, Ella, I'll be with you every step of the way."
I reassured her. We arrived at the school—a modern building with large glass windows and colorful banners celebrating academic achievements. Inside, the atmosphere was bustling with students chatting, teachers bustling about, and the sound of bells signaling class changes.
Ella clung to my arm, feeling completely out of place.
"Logan, I... I don't belong here,"
She whispered, her voice trembling. I turned to her, meeting her gaze with reassurance.
"You'll be okay, Ella. Just trust me."
Together, we approached the receptionist's desk. The woman behind the desk looked up with a warm smile.
"How can I help you today?"
I cleared my throat, feeling a bit awkward explaining our unusual situation.
"Um, hi. We're here to inquire about admission. This is Ella... she's new here."
The receptionist's smile faltered slightly, clearly noticing Ella's outdated attire and uncertain demeanor.
"Of course, let me pull up our admissions information."
As she typed on her computer, Ella glanced around nervously, trying to take in the sights and sounds of the modern school. She caught glimpses of students using tablets, teachers writing on smart boards, and groups of friends laughing together.
"Is this... what school looks like now?"
She asked quietly, almost to herself. I nodded, smiling gently at her.
"Yes, Ella. It's changed a lot."
The receptionist finished typing and looked up at us.
"I'm sorry, but we typically require documents and a formal application process for admissions."
I bit my lip, realizing I hadn't prepared for this bureaucratic hurdle.
"Is there any way we can expedite the process? Ella... she's... she's had a bit of a unique experience."
The receptionist raised an eyebrow but nodded sympathetically.
"I understand. Let me speak to the principal and see what we can do."
She disappeared into the back office, leaving Ella and me standing awkwardly in the lobby. Ella clutched her dress nervously, feeling more out of place than ever.
"Logan, I... I don't know if I can do this,"
She whispered, her eyes pleading for reassurance.
I put a hand on her shoulder, looking into her eyes with unwavering support.
"You can, Ella. You're stronger than you think."
Just then, the receptionist returned with a smile.
"The principal would like to meet with you both. Follow me, please."
