Chapter 2
This is the part where I got taken by Soph to go see the most disappointing show of my life. It was extremely boring and most of the other people that were there were about twelve years old. We were about the only teenagers there except for the twelve-year-olds' older siblings who were there for the same reasons that I was; an annoying person in their life who they hate to admit that they love and in reality they would do anything for, has dragged them into this shit show. I even bought a dress to wear for this occasion (it's black, but it's also a dress which is basically the only reason why Sophie approved). Anyway it was a pretty cute and I even got a teal fedora to go with it. I have to say that I looked pretty hot, and it was a pretty weird feeling.
When we got to the concert we both pigged out on some nachos that we bought at the food truck area. I hate to admit but it was a pretty packed stadium for a small band like this. It was actually kind of cool to see. If you tell anyone I said that I will end you. Anyway, we both got large drinks to go with our nachos, which ended up being a terrible idea.
About ten minutes before the concert was supposed to start, Soph said with crossed legs, "I really have to use the bathroom now. Wait for me?"
"I got nothing better to do." I said as I waved her off with a smile.
I sat by the railing on the opposite side of the bathroom to wait. I picked at the nachos and got some dirty looks from some kids, who looked like they were five, as I was waiting. She was taking forever, so I decided to take a quick look around. I didn't get five steps away when I heard the screaming of pre-teen girls and the pounding of feet. A teen-age looking boy came running up the stairs with a stampeding group of girls behind him. When he saw me panicked look on his face appeared, which then turned into puzzlement when I didn't join the stampeding group of girls behind him. I must say that he had out run them by quite a distance, but anyone could see that he was getting tired. He made an odd choice and ran up to me. This time I was the one who had the look of confusion on my face.
"Hide me. Please." He said through gasps, "Will. Explain. Later." He turned his back to the group of girls and grabbed my hips he pulled me close and pretended to flirt with me. I played along as he placed my hat on top of his head. I was annoyed, but I smiled and made a noise that could have come off as some sort of giggle. Though I found him annoying, he wasn't bad to look at. The girls sprinted past us, looking for the boy who got away. When they turned the corner I did what any girl would do. I slapped him, hard, right across the face.
"What the hell is wrong with you? I don't even know you! What do you think you are doing? Who the hell are you?" I took a step back and placed my hands on my hips; the usual stance for girls who are about to fight someone.
"Okay, ow. And, might I repeat, OW! What was that for? You really have no idea who I am?" He was so confused and honestly, I was enjoying that look on his face.
"No. Should I?"
"Didn't you come here to see me perform?" That's when I recognized him. I should've known from the giant poster of his face that was placed on the wall right behind him.
"Ohhh. So something tells me that you are the lead singer of the band Concealed, right?" I said very sarcastically, even though it had taken me forever to actually recognize him.
"Yeah. Why else would you think those girls were chasing me?"
"Honestly, I thought you stole their food. Girls can act like savages if you get too close to their food, so watch out. Speaking of which, you made me drop the rest my nachos, so you're on my list now." I started to walk away, but he grabbed my arm.
"You really aren't going to ask for an autograph or anything? And, might I add what list; because there are a few lists of yours I would like to be on." He winked at me. I wanted to punch him right then and there.
Seriously? He was actually trying to flirt with me? The nerve of some people, "Dude, chill. I only came here for my friend. She had an extra ticket and practically begged me to come. And give me that." I grabbed my hat back from his head. I was surprised that it didn't fall off of him when I slapped him. I had hit him pretty hard. "Oh, and by the way, it's my hit list." I smiled and started to walk off again.
"Something tells me that you are not a big fan of me or my music." He crossed his arms.
I turned to face him, but continue walking backwards. "No, really? What gave me away? I don't think that it takes the brains of a genius to figure that out."
"Hey," he called after me, "my name is Austin if you wanted to know."
I pointed at the picture behind him that had his name written on it in four different places. "I think I figured that out, too." I called as I headed back towards the stalls.
"And you are?"
"Clarabelle." I lied.
"Well, Clarabelle, if you ever feel like giving me your real name, here's my number." He scribbled his digits down on a scrap piece of paper; jogged over, then handed it to me. "If you ever want me to repay you for those nachos, just give me a call. Maybe this thing between us will turn out to be nacho average love story," He smirked
"No, leave, stop." I hated those kinds of dad jokes.
To my surprise he just smiled and said, "Have fun with your friend and enjoy the concert." before he hurried off to get backstage.
Every ounce of me had the urge to crumple up that piece of scrap paper and never have to worry about it ever again. But then I looked at it in my hand and recalled what had just happened. "That was really weird." I told myself before turning right into Sophie. "Whoa, hello there, Soph."
"OMG, OMG, OMG!" she squealed, "You actually talked to Austin! Was he nice? I bet he was super nice! You are so lucky! You have no idea how lucky you are!"
"He seemed alright, but he did almost take my hat." I said as I slipped his number into my pocket. "Can we go now? I feel really weird that some celebrity just talked to me."
"Deal! Just tell me everything that happened."
"Deal." I lied for what would be the second time that day.
