Chapter 8: The Escape Part 2

Callie's POV:
We had reached a large fence with the beanstalk right behind it. Had my plan actually worked? Are we finally going home? My happiness was soon interrupted by a booming yet familiar voice: "CALLIE!!!" Oh no. "Come on, we have to get out of here!" I shouted to the others. "How?" Hyun-a answered. "The fence is large enough for us to climb under." I said as dove under the fence, the others following close behind. After we had made it to the beanstalk, my eyes distantly locked in with a familiar pair of brown ones. "DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT CLIMBING DOWN THAT BEANSTALK!!" Jake shouted. "And how exactly are you going to stop us?" I asked. "The fence can easily be opened." He smirked. "Come on boys, before it's too late." He yelled.
I was scared, terrified even. The worst case scenario had become a reality. They had discovered we had escaped the house and were now out to capture us again. He may have made it beyond the fence, but if they can open it....then we're all doomed. Who knows what Jake would do....after all he's a one big jerk-face. Despite the beanstalk being right behind the fence, it was still quite a long way to go...well for our size at least. "Come on, ladies!!!" I shouted. "We can't give up yet!!" I said, running towards the plant. "I really hope we'll succeed." Nina said, following close behind with others.

Jake's POV:
Nooo, they're getting away, there has to be something, that we can do. "Guys we have to do something....before they can get away." I said. "We can climb the fence." Alan suggested. Soon enough, we all began to climb the fence as fast as we could.

Callie's POV:
Oh no....they're catching up. I continued to run for as long as I could, looking back to make sure my friends were alright. Those giants will not get anything...or anyone. I continued to run till I came to the edge of the ground, the beanstalk being close behind. "Callie...are you sure this is safe?" Meghan asked. "Does it look like we have a choice?" I asked, when I suddenly saw six huge figures approach us. "I am sorry girls, but playtime ends here." Alan said, kneeling down. "Noo, we want to go home!" Astrid screamed, trying to run away, but was caught by Dylan's huge hand. "It is best if you come with us willingly, we don't want to use force against you." Alan continued, placing his hand down in front of Hyun-a. "Come on, Hyun-a, I do not want to have to forcefully grab you." He spoke. She then began to slowly climb onto the hand. What is she doing? We're so close.... I then saw Jake's huge finger coming towards me, stopping right in front of me. "Callie, we're going." He spat. "Nooo!!" I yelled as I backed off. "Careful there, it's a very long fall from here." Why was he warning me? Since when does he care? "And since when do you care about me falling down?" I asked. "He does, trust me. He just doesn't show it well." Peter said, picking Mia up, who was squirming and shaking in his grip. "Callie...don't go any further." Jake said. "You will not get anything." I spat back. "I would watch my mouth if I were you." He said. I didn't notice how I had reached the very edge until I felt myself slip and fall right down.

Jake's POV:
"Nooooo!!!" I screamed. "I have to save her." I yelled. Sure, she does talk a lot and act all annoying, but that doesn't mean I want her dead. "What are you planning on doing?" Alan asked. Without much thought, I jumped after Callie.

Callie's POV:
I continued to scream until I felt a huge hand wrap around me. "J-jake?" I asked, not believing what I was seeing. Did he actually jump after me? "You jumped after me?" I asked. "You can thank me later, for now let's get back up." He answered, reaching his other hand out to grab the beanstalk. "Oh...and by the way, you all will be punished for your little fiasco." Jake added, placing me in his pocket.

Mia's POV:
"Nooo!!! Callie!!!" I screamed, about to jump off of Peter's hand, when his huge finger blocked my path. "Don't worry, Jake will get her out of there." He whispered, petting my head. The three girls, still remaining on the ground, watched as the giant dived after Callie. "She'll...be....alright...., right?" Meghan asked, trying to hold her tears back. She never liked crying in front of other people, even in front of us. If you were hurt the amount of times as she was, you'd probably have trust issues as well. "Meghan, are you crying?" Henry asked, kneeling down towards her. "N-no...I am not." She denied, covering her face with her arm. "A-are you sure?" He asked. "W-why would I like?" Meghan said, putting her hands on her hips, her back facing him. "Because you barely know me and don't if you can trust me." Henry answered, shrugging. "You do have a valuable point there...I am just worried for Callie..." Meghan said. "She'll be alright, I promise."

Callie's POV:
I could feel Jake climbing on the beanstalk due to all the movements I felt from his pocket. I have to admit, I was grateful for him saving my life, but the punishment part terrified me. Who knows what this guy has on his mind.

Jake's POV:
I continued to climb until I reached the end and stepped back onto the ground, taking the human out of my pocket, closing my hand around her. "Jake!!! You're alive." My brothers spoke in unison, each of them sighing with relief. "Is the girl ok?" Alan asked. "Yes." I answered, opening my hand, revealing a shaken up Callie. "Let's just head home....I'll come up with a punishment along the way." I said, making my way towards the path, that led to our house, whilst still holding the girl in my palm.

Callie's POV
Strange. Strange how he's holding me in his palm rather than in his fist. What is he up to?"

Meghan's POV:
Callie...she's alive and well. "Told you, she'd be fine." Henry said, picking me up and placing me on his shoulder. "Are you sure this is a good idea?" I asked, causing him to look at me with a confused look on his face. "Me riding on your shoulder?" I said, defining the question. "Ohh...that, yeah...just hold on tight."

Third Person POV:
The giants all walked to their home, holding their respected humans. None of them knew what Jake had planned. They didn't support the idea of punishing the girls for escaping, but their brother insisted on wanting to teach the humans a lesson. They all worried for the girls, especially Callie...
