Chapter 2: Seen

Callie's POV:
I'd never admit it to Hyun-a, but her story actually terrified me to the point, that I was having a hard time falling asleep. I continue to toss and turn for a good one hour before quietly making my way out of the tent without waking Hyun-a up.
I walked out and set in front of the now extinguished bonfire. It was deathly quiet, the only he thing audible was the sounds the crickets make every night. The night sky was full of thousands of bright and beautiful shining stars and constellations. I rested my head in my hands as I stared into the night sky, unaware of what was to come.

Jake's POV:
It was the dead of night. Me and my brothers were walking around the human forest, exploring it, led by Alan, the oldest among us. The night seemed to be the perfect time as most humans tend to be asleep during this time. We carefully made our way through the trees, that barely reached our knees, without making too much noise and potentially waking someone up. We couldn't let ourselves be seen by those creatures as it could potentially threaten our kind's existence. Our population was small enough as it was, barely in the lower millions.
Soon enough, the six of us came to a halt. "Alright." Alan spoke."You can all look around, but make sure to be back here soon, so we can go home before dawn, understood?" He asked, causing everyone to nod in agreement.
I made my way towards the woods, careful not to make any noise. Soon I came close to what seemed to be a camping spot. I carefully knelt down to stay hidden and get a better look at it. The site consisted of three tents and an extinguished fire. In front of it, sat a human girl, who was staring into the starry sky, seeming to be amazed by it's beauty. Had to admit, it really. I decided to take a look at it as well. It looked much different than what we saw from our home. I was so busy staring into the sky, that I didn't notice how I accidentally stepped onto a tree, accidentally making noise, causing the girls eyes to turn to my direction.

Callie's POV:
I was calmly admiring the stars, when I heard what seemed to be a tree falling from behind me. I turned to see what could be making the noise. Whatever it was, it must be very large. Not many creatures can make a tree fall this easily. I walked closer to the trees, turning on my phone's flashlight to help me see better.  Nothing seemed out of the ordinary...until I caught sight of what seemed to be a huge, brown eye. No..noooooo...it can't be...Hyun-a's story....it can't be real...giants do not exist...

Jake's POV:
I watched as I saw the girl look around, using her phone's flashlight to help her see better. I prayed she wouldn't see me, but...things didn't go as planned. I soon felt the light of her flashlight shine right onto my right eye and saw her face, genuinely shocked...frozen in place. As much as I hated doing this, I knew I had no other choice. I carefully reached my hand out from above the trees, causing the human to scream her lungs out and run to her tent, zipping it up. Did she really think that would keep me out? My fingers may be big, but that doesn't mean I can't open that I can't unzip it. I carefully made my way to her tent as I saw her small silhouette trying to shake another girl awake. What did I get myself into....

Callie's POV:
I screamed when I saw a huge hand come towards me and ran to my tent as fast as I could, zipping it up as good as I could. I than crawled over to Hyun-a, who was in a state of deep sleep. "Hyun-a!!!" I screamed, shaking her, trying to wake her up. I could feel the giant's footsteps approach my tent, I just hoped the zipper would keep him out. "Hyun-a!!!" I continued to scream at her. "Wake up!!!" Soon, I saw stir in her sleep, meaning she was waking up. "H-huh? Callie? D-do you know what time it is?" She asked. "Hyun-a...there's no time to sleep, there's a freakin giant outside our tent...and it's after me." I yelled, causing her to laugh in response. "You didn't actually believe my story now, did you?" She asked as she continued to laugh. "I-i am dead serious. I saw it with my own eyes." I said as Hyun-a reached for the zipper. "You have got be kidding. Is this another one of your jokes?" She asked, reaching for the tent zipper. "I am serious! D-don't-" Before I could finish, she had already opened the zipper. Before either of us could blink, a huge hand made it's way towards the zipper. Oh no....I thought as I saw huge fingers enter the tent and curl around my waist, causing me to scream. "H-hey...p-ut me d-down!!!" I screamed, squirming around, trying to free myself from his grip. "I wouldn't recommend that, human." His deep, booming voice spoke. "I wouldn't want you falling to your death." As much as I hated to admit, he was right, struggling was pointless. "W-where are you taking me?" I asked as I felt myself being carried away from the campsite. "You ask to many questions for that little tongue of yours." The giant responded, carrying me away. I could only hope the others were safe.

Hyun-a's  POV:
What in the world happened. First I was peacefully sleeping, then I am woken up by Callie, who's claiming to have seen a giant and then witnessing her get carried away in it's huge hand. I hastily ran over to the other girl's tents. I needed to wake them up.

Jake's POV: I had barely walked away from the camp, when I saw Alan looking at me, with his hands on his hips. "I-iii....umm...this isn't what it looks like?" I said as I tried to come up with an explanation, when I was interrupted by Alan  speaking. "What was the one thing I told you not to do?" He asked. "N-not to get seen by humans?" I gulped as I waited for his response. "Was it only or were you seen by more than one human?" He asked. "She may or may not have woken up one of her friends." I answered. "Show me the way." Alan sighed. "I'll take care of it."

Hyun-a's POV: I carefully unzipped Nina and Meghan's tent and started shaking them both awake. "G-girls...wake up!!! We've got a serious problem!" I yelled. " Please wake up!!!" Soon, I felt the ground behind me shake. Oh no...please tell me there aren't more. I turned around to see a giant walking towards me, kneeling down in front of me. He was huge, colossal even. One wrong move could easily hurt me. "I do not want to harm you in any kind of way. As much I as I hate doing this, I'll have to take you with me." He said. "W-what do you mean...take me with you?" I said, as I continued to shake my friends awake. "Y-you and your friend weren't supposed to see us..." He explained. "We can't have you two telling everyone about us." He had a point, but that didn't mean they had to take as away to god knows where. We had our lives and university studies, that we couldn't just abandon. "What if we promise to not tell anyone?" I asked. "I am afraid that won't do, we can't rely on a promise." He said, reaching his hand towards me. I rushed into the tent as fast as I could, when I felt two enormous digits grab me by my foot, causing me to scream. I shook and squirmed around, trying to free myself, but it was of no use. I soon felt myself lifted higher and dropped onto a soft surface.

Alan's POV:
As much as I hated the fact, that I was taking her away from her friends, family, home and life...I knew I had no other choice. Maybe she will understand my actions someday. As I was walking away, I heard another scream, coming from one of the tents and saw another human, girl being awake. I would need my brothers' help for sure.....
