Team RWBY heads back to their dorm after a tiring day of school. Upon entering the dorm they were met with a shocking sight, a Ursa cub pawing at the Ruby's brothers face as he was sweating and moving uncomfortably. Team RWBY went to attack the cub but hearing a whimper from it made them stop and look towards it soon Y/n jolted up on fear screaming and holding his head.

"Leave me alone! I didn't do anything, you forced me to do it!" The girls rushed to him as Carnage appeared near his face and smirked.

"But you were the one to kill her. You are the reason why Ruby has no mother. You're the reason people don't return home."

"I said shut up!" Y/n glared at the symbiote. "You make me like this,you made me a killer."

Koda looked up at the boy so did RWBY with a worried look.

"Yes get angry, what else did I do to you Y/n!"

Y/n stood up and began to yell at the symbiote as it smiled with its body forming around the boys. Ruby and Yang ran up to the boy and began to hug him trying their best to calm him down. Carnage forcefully moved them out of the way and opened its mouth bringing it down onto his head with it molding around his head making Y/ns screams muffle. The boy reached for his head and tried to pull the symbiote off, the four girls began to help the boy as did Koda but the five of them were pushed off as Carnages face formed and laughed hysterically.

"Dinner time!"

Carnage went to attack the girls but a bright red claw poked through the symbiote burning it. Carnage screamed in pain as a second one appeared showing the hands one of the boy moving towards Carnages face the claws stabbed it directly into its eyes making it scream loud. "Get off me!" Ripping through the symbiote with heated claws y/n ripped through the symbiote making it retreat back into his body. Falling to his knees Y/n breath became rapid as he soon began to hyperventilate. Ruby and Yang ran up to him hugging their older brother as he shook,Koda hugged his leg as it felt tears fall onto its head. "I'm so sorry Ruby, Carnage made me do it,I'm so sorry." Ruby looked at her sobbing brother and hugged him tightly.

"Why Y/n. Please tell me she died quickly. " She sobbed into his white cloak.

"She did..she did." Sobbing Y/n Hug his sisters allowing the three of them cry together. Weiss looked at the boy with saddened eyes,Y/ns mental state is almost completely gone the only reason why he's not insane now is due to the pills.  She knew what he was going through since her father wanted to mold her instead of allowing her to do her own thing. But she left towards Vale where he couldn't reach her,but Y/ns was different, he can't escape his.

Soon nightfall came, everyone was getting ready to sleep but looked at the bathroom as the door opened with Koda running out with his hair all fuzzy with Y/n walking out drying his hair as he wore a black muscle shirt and red sweatpants. But everyone noticed multiple scars on the boys arm. Koda ran around the room as his wet paws touched the carpet leaving markings. Y/n kneeled down and began to pull out different bottle of pills. Finding the correct ones he set it on the bookshelf and placed the others back. Ruby looked at her brother and went to speak but Y/n beat her to it. "No Ruby I don't get good sleep,if I don't take a pill Carnage makes me suffer in my dreams." She went to ask another thing but once again Y/n best her to it. "Yes my scars are from Carnage. Please dont ask if there are anymore, I.......I don't want to think about it, Koda come here buddy." The little cub stopped gnawing on Y/ns shoes and walked up to him,petting the small cub Y/n laid his sleeping bag out and bundled up the white cloak making it a makeshift pillow. Placing the small bear on the inside he watched as the small fella climb to the bottom and make it's way back up popping his head out and getting comfortable. Smiling Y/n went to lay down but noticed that Koda was still active as it nibbled on his hand.

"Koda you need to sleep." He told the cub but all it did was growl playfully at him. "Koda." He sighed as he looked at the the night sky but Ruby looked down. "What if you sing him a lullaby, like you did for me when I couldn't sleep." Y/n looked at his sister with shock as she still remembers his singing. "You still remember that?" He asked as the little girl looked down in embarrassment. "Yeah after mom died it was the only thing I had left to sleep to." Y/n looked at her with sadden eyes. "Ruby about that night I-" he began but Ruby stopped him. "Can we not talk about it." She asked him as he looked down upset. "Yeah."

Turning to the cub Y/n began to sing to the little bear.

Y/n finished singing and looked down seeing the now sleeping cub. Smiling Y/n went and grabbed his pill but stopped hearing sniffling,turning around Y/n saw Ruby crying, Weiss with a sadden looked,Yang with anger from what the song ment and Blake shocked. "Was that song about your relationship with Carnage?" Y/n looked down and nod but held his head and began to chuckle as his pupils shrank. "Oh no hehehe." Quickly getting into the bag Y/n geabbed the sleeping pill and swallowed it, in mere moments Y/ns eyes began to become heavy and instantly fell asleep. 

Mindscape.

Y/n slowly opened his eyes and looked around "No I'm not supposed to see anything." Trembling the boy looked around and noticed bodies being hanged, a pile of corpses rest in the middle of the room along with a decapitated body leaned over a wall with the head on the ground as blood exited the neck.

"C-Carnage."he stuttered as the symbiote smiled at him. Stepping backwards the boy began to talk to himself. "I-I don't get it. I took the pill. You shouldn't be here!"

The symbiote smiled as it slowly closed the gap between him and the boy. "Oh Y/n we both know that I couldn't let that happen." The symbiote smirked as it pounced at the boy and pinned him to the ground. "Time to break that little mind of yours permanently!"

The silent night in team RWBYs dorm was suddenly broken as a scream of pure agony and fear broke through the night. This awoken the four girls with a startle as they fell off of their beds or hit their heads on the ceiling. Koda woke up in a fright as it turned its head toward the scream. Y/n spazzed out in his sleeping bag as Carnage slashed it's way out of the bag making the boy stand up forcefully by the symbiote.  Ruby and the gang watched as the symbiote slammed the boy against the ceiling and then onto the ground on his hands and knees the symbiote crawled onto the boy and forcefully into his mouth making the boy throw up based on his gag reflex. Koda and his sisters rushed to him pulling the symbiote off or biting at it.

But the symbiote flung them off as it continued to crawl on him,quickly grabbed her weapon Weiss flung fire dust at the boy burning the symbiote as it screeched in pain. Y/n gasped in air as he began to hurl as the symbiote turned and showed them its horrifying size. Carnage went to attack the girls but quickly activating his claws,he stopped the symbiote in its tracks. The symbiote yelled in pain as a red clawed finger stabbed it making the symbiote reel back into the boys body. Shaking in fear Y/n looked at the floor as screams of agony and fear echoed through his head. The boy felt a hand being placed on his shoulder making him jump and stick to the ceiling as he repeated "Make the voices stop.". Team RWby looked at him with sorrow. Slowly coming down from the ceiling Y/n stood back up. "I-I'm sorry. It's just this is what happens when he-he." The young man couldnt continue as he fell to his knees holding face as tears flowed down.  Going to their brothers side the two sisters hugged the boy.

"How about you sleep on one of our bunks for tonight." Ruby said to him as Koda placed his head under the tortured males hand trying to cheer him up. The male shook his head.

"N-No I'm just gonna go out for a walk." He said as he began to leave.

"But you'll be expelled." Weiss told him but she was deaf in his ears as he walked out of the room.

Ruby looked down at Koda as he looked down in sadness she cautiously placed her hand on Kodas head petting him. Soon morning came  and Y/n still hasn't come back. Ruby looked down at the Ursa cub as it slept curled up on Summers cloak.  Ruby then looked at her scroll as Ozpin requested that her and Yang come to his office along with Y/n. After everyone woke up fully Yang and Ruby made their way to Ozpins office seeing the headmaster,Glynda, their uncle Qrow and father Taiyang.

"Dad, uncle Qrow what are you two doing here?" Yang asked as she stated with confusion.

"Ozpin said that he has a emergency for us so we made it here." Taiyang spoke but another ding from the elevator went off showing Y/n with bloodshot eyes and messy red and black hair the red being dried blood. He had Carnage slowly seeping under his eye to have it hide. But everyone can see behind those tired eyes was a dead soul.

"You called headmaster." He spoke but to Qrow and Taiyang they looked at him with confusion until Carnage fully disappeared showing the boy. Qrow who was in the midst of drinking dropped his flask with the liquid leaking from the top.

"N-No way." Qrow spoke as he walked up to his nephew.

"Oh. I see a family reunion." He spoke making Taiyang look at his son with shock as quivered with tears starting to form. "Hey.....Dad." Y/n spoke making the older man cry.

"Y/n." He choked out next thing he knew he was hugging his long lost son. Crying the older male held his son and he back up looking at him seeing tears leave his sons face. But these tears weren't ones of happiness but ones of sorrow and regret. "Y/n?"

"I'm so-so sorry dad. I wanted to tell you where I was but Carnage kept stopping me by taking over." He choked as he hugged his father.

"It's okay Y/n. It's okay. I'm just glad to have you back my fighter. You must've been having a hard time with Carnage. So I don't blame you for not keeping in contact." He said as he kept hugging his son.

Yang looked at the reunion with tears as did Ruby. The two sisters along with Qrow gave the boy a group hug making him collapse onto his knees with tears.

"Mr. Xaio long." Ozpin spoke gaining Y/ns attention since he called his father Tai. "I'm glad to say. You will be seperated from Carnage tonight." He said smiling. This made the family cry even more but for Y/n he was crying in joy hes just twelve hours away from being separated from the creature that ruined his life.
