"No, I don't!" Dipper shouted across the corridor with Mabel trailing behind.
"I have been noticing the entire time! You liar!" Mabel laughed. She really enjoyed sibling moments like these.
Grunkle Stan appeared, holding a can of soft drink. "I detected teasing. Who's the victim this time?"
Mabel pointed at Dipper, an ecstatic look on her face.
"Dipper likes Pacifica! Pacifica! Whoop, Dippica, Dippica!"
Stan gave a thumbs up. "Wow Dipper, I thought you were like nerdy, well, this is intense. What are you waiting for? Go get the girl!"
"That's what I advised Dipper! You should really listen to me the Love Goddess someday you know, it would really help you."
At that moment, Dipper couldn't help but laugh.
"Man, I will always cherish these memories when I'm old," he replied sarcastically.
Stan and Mabel high-fived.
"Kids." he shook his head. He laughed and walked away, shouting, "Dinner will be ready when the pizza man comes!"
---
In the attic, they were still debating about Pacifica.
As an attempt to shut Mabel up, he threw one of his pillows at her. Her talking was muffled for a second before she continued.
Dipper rolled his eyes. Sometimes, people are just plain annoying.
Dipper looked at his masterpiece to shut her out but paused for a moment as the realisation dawned on him.
"Wait. Someone has messed with my theories!"
Mabel finally kept quiet and stood beside Dipper, finger on her chin.
"Huh? What happened?"
---
Bill hovered above the mystery twins, deciding that now's the time.
With a snap of his fingers, he became visible to the twins. Everywhere around the three of them became the familiar shade of black and white, they were the only ones in colour.
(dramatic appearance much.)
"Bill Cipher! So you are behind this! Again!" Dipper pointed an angry finger at Bill, eyes glaring with hatred.
Bill, in his triangle form, floated between the twins, waving his black cane.
"So what if I did it? It doesn't matter!" his voice resounded in the virtual portal they were in.
Mabel waved her hands at Bill.
"Shoo! Fix what you've ruined and get outta here!"
Bill looked at her and smiled evilly.
"You twins, don't you ever learn? I'm a demon, I can have anything I want!"
With another wave of his black cane, there appeared a cage of blue fire over Mabel, trapping her. Mabel was evidently shocked as she tried to escape from the cage.
Dipper was getting angry.
"What do you want, Bill? We have not bothered you for almost 4 years and now you suddenly appear out of nowhere and mess up my theories AND now you cage up my sister? Let her go! Okay fine, what do you want from me to let her go?"
Bill stroked his chin, "Good job, Pine Tree. You do know I want something, isn't it obvious? You are getting too close to the truth! Give up everything about the journal. In exchange for your beloved sister, I want you to give up the journal."
He emphasised on the last 4 words.
"Let me go, stop fighting! Dipper!" Mabel screamed in the cage of bluish flames.
Dipper stared at the two.
"Wait, are you saying, are you saying, that my theories are correct?" he was breathless for a moment.
"DIPPER YOUR SISTER IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOUR STUPID JOURNAL RIGHT NOW SAVE ME!" Mabel looked at Dipper sadly.
Bill just looked at Dipper and laughed.
"Pine Tree, that doesn't matter. I want you to make a choice now. Journal or Shooting Star?"
Bill enjoyed every moment of this. Seeing someone in a dilemma is just the best reality show ever. Dipper gave a sad look at his twin sister.
"Tick, tick, tick! Your time is up! Since you have no answer, Shooting Star is coming with me! I give you a week, I will be watching! See ya!"
"WAIT!" Dipper reached out his hand, but they had disappeared. Colour returned to the surroundings, Dipper knew that he had returned to the real world. Mabel is now gone with the demon. For a week.
He looked at his wall of theories.
Think, Dipper, think, he thought. He knew that he would rather forgo his memories of the journal than have Mabel gone forever, but....
He looked at his wall of theories again.
According to Bill, he must be close to the truth. He must be! Otherwise, why would the demon even bother to capture Mabel and make this fuss? One of his theories must be correct.
He stood up and picked up the fallen pieces of paper on the floor. 4 years, 4 years of time wasted on this, but now he has to give up everything.
He crumpled the piece of paper with his balled fist.
"I have one week. One more week to figure out everything. Here goes nothing." He muttered to himself.
Now, he knew the only thing left to do was to tell someone about this. Grunkle Stan.
He ran out of the room, slamming the door behind him.
