Chapter fifteen

a/n: Crappy chapter because i'm tired but i wanna write, so here ;-;

"Do any of you see that?" You asked, standing up in the Ferris wheel cart. It was an open cart, a small umbrella like roof above the top to keep the sun from being in the rider's eyes. When you stood up in the large cart, you rocked it. The cart waves and rocked around quickly in wide movements. Which caused Alora and Damian to stumble around a bit where they sat.

"(Y/n), please sit back down!" Alora exclaimed as she pressed her hands over her face. Covering her mouth and giving you wide shocked blue eyes.

Tim and Damian were both on alert, staring at you with the same shocked expression that Alora had been doing. Both boys had actually been kinda put off by the unsafe swaying of the cart, especially with the red warning sign on the inside of the cart that said not to rock the cart.

You didn't even grab anything for support, not the big pole in the middle that served as the only thing to hold onto and by looks, it seemed like the only thing holding the cart in place.

There was a bunch of birds that came flying in the direction of the four of you in the Ferris wheel cart. From the smoke, almost like they were fleeing.

People on the Ferris wheel awed in amusement as all the different types of birds flew in the direction, by this point the cart you Damian, Tim and Alora were in was stationed at the top for a little bit while the last cart was being filled at the bottom. It was sunset, almost dark.

It was mostly crows and Ravens, but they didn't fly above or away from the Ferris wheel. They were going to fly through the openings or hit people. There was even some Hawks here and there.

The awes of amusement eventually turned into screams of fear, people being knocked around by the bigger birds that didn't fit through the smaller patches.

You were standing.

You let out a shriek as a hawk and a large crow came towards your face, losing your footing and slipping backwards on the cart. The Hawks clawed feet scratched at your face and the large crow pounded into your chest, knocking you out of the cart.

"(Y/N)!" Alora screamed, shoving her hands back over her face as hot tears welled up in your eyes.

You had hair in your face, covering your mouth and nose. You had extended an arm and jutted a hand out towards Damian. Damian yelled out your name as he tried to reach you, grabbing the pole and leaning forward to grab your hand. But his fingertips only just barely touched the tips of your fingers. Your long almond shaped red nails were the only thing that touched Damian. Leaving a bit of a scratch on his stitched up hand.

You watched Damian as you fell, back facing the ground as you inched further away from Damian. Hair flowing up above your head with a hand still extended towards him. As if reaching the air in front of him would save you.

You were going to die.

Tears filled your eyes as you plummeted closer to the ground, still close to a hundred and seventy feet high in the air. The tears left your body slower than your body fell, so it looked as though they were going up.

At this point your body arches forwards in the air, an arm still extended upwards but now your legs had limply pointed in the same direction as well, as if you had been punched in the stomach and you were now staying in that position. Anymore backwards and you would dive head first into the ground with your back to all of the carts.

The sounds of children and adults yelling as you passed by them in the air. A little girl had let go of her balloon at the sight of you falling to what was presumed your death.

You felt your throat burn, stretching both hands upwards and pressing your knees together as the rest of your legs parted. Hair covered your eyes, preventing you to see.

There was a whooshing sound in the air, and instead of your body splattering all over the ground below, you felt strong arms wrap around you.

[Tims p.o.v, minutes before.]

This was rare, he's never seen Damian freeze up like that. He's seen Damian freeze up before, just... Not like this.

Tim watched your hands just barely grasp at Damian's, fingernails scratching his hand.

Damian's freeze didn't last long once he snapped out of it. He was about ready to jump out of the cart and go after you, but then Tim looked at his hand. The giant purple bruise and the ugly stitches. This must have been the bite you have him a couple nights ago that Bruce was talking about.

Tim doesn't doubt Damian can't catch you, and then figure the rest out. But the moment Damian's hand grabs your body, those bruises are going to hurt and his stitches will reopen and he'll drop you, causing you to just continue to fall to to a painful death.

Tim gave Damian a look before swiftly moving the younger boy out of his way, putting a foot on he edge of the cart and jumping off, head first to gain speed since you were a good twenty feet ahead in the space between you two.

Tim noticed you staring directly at him, but you were so scared you weren't registering it as him. You were too scared to do anything, Tim had to go faster to catch you.

As he dove his head down sharper and pinned his arms and legs to his side to pick up speed, he had noticed his face was wet. Was he crying? No. Eyes watering? No, but they were definitely tears. You were falling faster than the tears were leaving your eyes.

Tim was really close to you now, he noticed you had your hair in front of your eyes so you couldn't see. Both hands extended upwards to reach nothing but the air.

Gotta slow down, Tim though to himself. He saw a thick wore that could support his weight, it was keeping the lights on the Ferris wheel on.

He grabbed it, hand sliding down the thick rubber and metal as his body readjusted in a form that could hold your own body when he reached you. His hand was sliding down the rubber and metal wire, leaving burns and cuts on the inside of his palm.

He reached you, grabbing your wrist and pulling you up in his arms with one hand. As he clutched your body tight against his own to keep you from skiing, the wire swung the two of you close enough to the ground for him to bring you to a stop.

The way your arms wrapped up over his shoulders, wrapping one of your legs around his own and digging your fingernails I to the fabric of his shirt. Damian saw it all, and it made him burn from the inside out. What burned him the most and made his blood boil the hottes was that with Tims free hand he had to grip your waist tightly so your smaller body wouldn't fall out from his bigger and more muscular one. Watching him but his fingers anywhere near you, it piased Damian off.

Before Tims feet hit the ground, you had shoved your face into his shoulder out of fear from the heights, your grip only loosened on him when your feet hit the ground, he had to hold you to keep you upright.

[Damians p.o.v]

Damian didn't understand why he was so pissed off at Tim, wanting to gouge out the taller mans annoying blue eyes. Why he was so hot with anger. His chest hurt, and he really just needed to punch something right now or go on patrol for a while. Just looking at you within five feet of Tim, it bothered him.
He didn't. Know what this feeling was, or if it was some sort of heart condition, but one thing he knew for sure.

He did not have any affection towards you. He did not have any affection towards you, none at all.Not as Damain, and not as Robin. He ran a hair through his thick dark hair as the ferris wheel inched closer to letting everyone off.

You left your hands over his cheeks, Damian's face heated up over the past couple seconds. He hated how you knew this, you could feel the skin over his face heating up too.

"Stop that." Damian mumbles to himself, while he's trying not to think about the night he shared with you after the two of you, as Robin, had things worked out and you stopped trying to run away.

Damian was thinking, about how he wanted things to go. He wanted nothing more than to forget about his stresses as Robin, his problems as Damian. He could feel the hot breath that came from you coming closer to him, that or you were just breathing a little harsher.

"Stop thinking about it." Damian pinched his side, wincing a little bit while he tried to distract himself. The memories of things being soft and warm, no real problems. Well, no real problems aside from his vulnerability.

He fought back a sound that tried to move past his lips as your nails gently grazed across his scalp. It wasn't a bad feeling, there was a reason he was fighting back that sound that begged to come out.

Damian could practically feel ghost hands running through his hair at the memory, the pointed and curved almond-shaped nails of yours that ran through his dark thick black hair. How he wanted to feel it again. Damian could practically feel your fingers remembering every detail in his face in the dark, your thumb over his lips, your index finger at his jawline, thumb grazing over his cheeks.

Your hand running down his chest to find his arm that held his mask, grabbing it and putting it back onto him.
He remembered in great detail what it felt like, having your hand trail down his chest like that. The curved and pointed nails that could have easily doug into his skin were separated by the kevlar material. It was thick, but thin enough for him to feel every detail you did. Every curve your fingertips made against his body.

'I want you to trust me.'

That's it.  He feels as though he could just jump off the side of the cart right now and take your own death that should have been given to you. Damian is glad it was not, but Tim. Of all people. And as he thought about these memories his anger only got worse. The hot burning in his chest, and he seethed in this anger silently as the ride made it's way to the ground. The entire time Alora stared at him in confusion, wondering what he was scowling about.

She looked at his hands, the knuckles that turned white. His fingernails were digging into his hand as they clenched shut. Anymore, and Damian would re-open his stitches.

[Danica's p.o.v]

There was a burning pain in her head. As she found Tim and Damian, with the two boys she also found Alora and yourself. Looking at you, something was wrong. From the other side of the park, there was a fire and it sent a bunch of birds in a panic as they flew off into the other direction. Weird things have been happening at the amusement park, so far nobody's been able to leave.

Whenever someone comes close to leaving, something in them tells them to stay. Like, they change their mind.

You didn't speak, but after hearing about what just happened to you she understood why.  Falling so far like that, Ben stood next to Danica and stared at Tim and you with confusion. It was over, yet you still clung to his side out of fear. Not clung to his side, but you didn't really wanna go away. Every now and then Ben and Danica and Damian would see you walking behind Tim whenever the group was moving to a different spot.

Luckily, for Tim, nobody besides those on the ferris wheel had actually seen the incident. Which helps a little bit, but it was decided that nobody is going back on anymore rides after that.

Danica noticed Ben would sometimes star at the way you looked at tim when he wasn't paying attention. IT wasn't admiration, it was more like confusion. Danica also noticed the way Damian looked at you whenever you were off glancing at Tim.

Danica felt some sort of...anger, as of the moment.
You could have died, this could have all been over right here and now.

'I will make the world tremble to my feet. I will be a god.'

Danica bit down on her bottom lip hard enough to draw blood, but grabbed a napkin from her pocket that she still had from earlier and cleaned it up. Refusing to think of the words her brother spoke to her before she left to carry out a mission that would for sure leave Danica and Ben dead. But at least lots of people would get to live.

Danica knew so much more than she was telling, why she looked so much like you. Why she knew things that hadn't even been told to her. She knew what would happen tonight, but you coming close to falling to your death was not on that list.

Something has already happened, meaning her and Ben are not the only ones here who are not from here.
Ben noticed this too, it was that much obvious that they needed to do something. Or at least explain themselves before You, Damian, or Tim find out on their own.

Because they wouldn't believe her, and all of the things that happen will still happen. Thousands of people will die.
She clutched her bag closer to her back, the feeling of pointy and sharp things pressing against her back. IF she needed to use it, she would.
[Damian's p.o.v]

You had glanced at Danica every now and then, since nobody was able to leave the park the group of you, Tim, Damian, You, Alora, Maria, and Colin, alongside Danica and Ben. Kept finding strange things around the park every here and there.  Damian looked at you so often as the eight of you all walked through the park, trying to figure things out. Watching more smoke rise from different sections of the park.

Damian was aware that Grayson and todd were also in the park, but as Red Hood and Nightwing. Alongside his own Father., they were keeping in hiding as of currently. In the batcave. The 'Bat-family' was well aware something was going down tonight, but they may have underestimated. But since Bruce has Bat-caves all over the place in gotham underground, it was convenient there was one under the amusement park if everything really did go south. If it really was the joker.

But the fire in the distance kept rising, and more people were eventually running over to the smoke-free side of the park.

The fire was now visible, and this grabbed Damian and Tim's attention. They were told to pursue any issues tonight as their public figures, not Robin or Red Robin. But to stay out if it involved any bigbad, like Scarecrow, or Poison Ivy, Bane or The Joker, etc. But to contact Todd as the Red Hood and Grayson as Nightwing if such encounters are made.
Part of Damian thought that having Todd here was a bad idea, if the joker is really coming back.

That way, if it's as bad as it seems, everyone can assume that Damian Wayne and Tim Drake had been somewhere off in the park abducted or just knocked out, so what they do as Red Robin and Robin can't be traced back to their public figure.

But then it happened, what really kept people from leaving the park.

A large dome of poisonous plants had built up over the entire park, leaving it in darkness. The red and purple flowers that cascaded all down the thick vines, it was obvious.

This was Poison Ivy's work.

And that's when all the fire in the distance actually started to become dangerous.
