T H I R T Y - T W O
It was the next day and I was currently in the cafeteria, which I finally planned on telling Regina about the sabotaging.. god, I'm such a coward.
I didn't necessarily plan on telling her now, though. More like, after lunch. But won't she eat one of those kalteen bars with it? Ugh.
I bit the inside of my cheek then shrugged, I wasn't that hungry anyways. I walked past the cafeteria line then to The Plastics usual table.
"Regina." Gretchen randomly said, the table was very quiet for some reason. Oh. Regina was wearing sweatpants. I rolled my eyes, these rules were stupid.. plus they wouldn't kick her out, right?
Regina rolls her eyes, ignoring Gretchen. She then looks over at Cady. "Is butter a carb?"
"Uh — ..yes!"
"Regina." Gretchen repeated, "You're wearing sweatpants.." she trailed off, slightly fearful. "It's Monday." (A/N: Fun fact, I'm wearing sweatpants while writing this. Savage.)
"So?" Regina huffs, her nose scrunched up.
The Plastics stay quiet for a moment, I awkwardly look at my feet, unsure about the situation. She would for sure snap at them.
"..—So that's against the rules, and you can't sit with us." Karen budges in, her voice a bit high pitched from fear of her reaction.
"Whatever, those rules aren't real anyways."
Karen furrowed her eyebrows. "But you yelled at me the day I wore a vest —"
"'Cause that vest was disgusting." Regina scoffs.
"yOu cAn'T siT wiTh uS!" Gretchen screeches.
Regina blinked a few times, then helplessly glanced at me, then Cady, as if asking for help. "Fine." She picked up her tray. "You can walk home, bitches." She grumbles, then storms away.
Gretchen and Karen have been practically clinging onto Cady the whole day, and Regina was no where to be seen.
It felt awkward as well. Cady was acting as if she was the new queen bee, I'm pretty sure she is now, though.
A flash of dark pink walked by. Regina.
I guess, now was FINALLY time to tell her.
"Regina?" I followed behind her.
She sighs, obviously upset. I mean, I wouldn't blame her. "What?" She huffs, a furious look in her icy blue eyes.
"Okay I know this isn't the time and it's way too late to tell you and I'm really, really sorry—"
"Just get to the point." Regina angrily mumbles, then ran her fingers through her hair.
"The kalteen bars Cady gave you are making you gain weight." I quickly say, then look off to the side.
"..What!?" She hisses.
"The kalteen bars—"
"No, I know." She spats. "Why would you just now be telling me this?"
"I was scared of your reaction." I shifted from feet to feet.
"You should've just told me when she first gave them to me! And I wouldn't have been upset!" Regina exclaims. "God, you're so stupid!"
"I'm sorry." I mumbled, lowering my head.
"You think I'm just going to forgive you like that?"
"Well, no.."
Regina shakes her head. "You're such a bitch.."
"And you aren't!?" I shot back, meeting her gaze. She was left her stunned for a moment, a look of hurt flashed across her gaze but it quickly went away.
"At least I know I am." She crossed her arms. "You act like you're so innocent in this situation. Yet you aren't."
"I—." I trailed off. She was right..
"Exactly." She mumbles, then looked off to the side. "Go hang out with the dykes, you fit right in. You're lucky I'm not going to tell the whole school as well."
I bit my tongue, hard. I was surprised it didn't draw blood. "W-well, maybe I will, they aren't no where near as fake and deceiving as you are."
Regina rolls her eyes, yet she looked even more hurt. "As if you aren't as well."
I frantically shake my head, then walk away from her, her cold gaze following me until I was out of sight.
I release a breath, then lower my head, walking off to find Janis and Damian somewhere, hopefully they aren't mad at me as well? Because that'd make four.. Regina, Janis, Damian, and me.
:O
