T H I R T Y - T H R E E
I worked on this and a few other chapters while on a break. B)
"God Y/N.." Janis pat my shoulder. "I'm so sorry — I should've listened to you and just.. stopped."
"No, no it's fine." I sighed, leaning against the wall. "I should've told her sooner."
Damian wrapped his arms around the two of us. "Let's all just have a biiig group hug."
Janis squirmed, then eventually sighed, giving up. "Alright, Alright." She reaches over to pat both of our heads.
"I just feel terrible, y'know?" I looked at the two of them. "I knew I should've told her earlier."
"And we shouldn't have been sabotaging her." Janis says, "It's more our fault than yours, don't blame yourself."
"O-okay." I shakily sigh.
"Hopefully you guys will make up soon." Damian sympathetically says. "And you'll end up together, and you'll be all cute and gay -."
"No more." I interrupted him, placing my hand over his mouth.
"But my ship-." He started, his voice muffled.
"No." I shake my head, a small smile playing at my lips.
"Hah. You're smiling." Janis teases, then she slowly started to frown. "You still like her, don't you?"
"Well, y-yeah, isn't it obvious..?" I trailed off, looking to the side.
"Kinda." Damian says, earning a glare from Janis.
"It was. And it.. still is, now. But I thought you stopped liking her." Janis awkwardly laughs.
"Oh." I looked back over at them. "Okay." I respond, unsure of how to respond.
"You should apologize to her!" Damian suddenly says, as if he had just thought of the worlds smartest idea.
"I already tried to-"
This time, Damian interrupted me. "Think of a big gesture! Like something sweet that'd set off her gay!"
"I —.. guess I'll try." I sighed. What'd I have to lose anyways?
"YAY!! HOORAY FOR GAY!" Janis and Damian somehow said in unison.
I chuckled at then. "I'm so quoting that from here on out."
"YES!" Damian cheered, suddenly Janis was oddly quiet.
"Janis?" I looked over at her. "Are you okay?"
"Oh yeah!" She quickly spoke. "I was just wondering, I have an art show this weekend and I was wondering if you'd like to come?"
"Of course!" I nod while grinning. "I'm 100% sure your art will win something, you're the best artist I've ever seen."
"She's Leonardo from Ninja Turtles reborn." Damian did jazz hands.
"..Damian." I facepalmed. "Leonardo da Vinci did art."
"Oh,, OH." he gasped. "My whole life was a lie!"
We all burst into laughter, pretty sure people outside of the art room could hear us we were laughing that loud.
"Okay, okay." Janis breathed, finally able to catch her breath. "In all seriousness, thank you Y/N."
"You're welcome, Janis." I sincerely said, awkwardly patting her shoulder, earning a smile from her.
"Now what?" Damian slowly asks.
"We go do something to cheer Y/N up." Janis speaks up.
"No, no we don't have t-"
"Too bad." Damian huffs. "Because I, myself, agree. And it's two against one."
"Fine." I playfully roll me eyes. "I actually wanted to go but didn't want to be rude. Aha."
Janis snickered. "Where should we go?"
"DAIRY CREAAAMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!" Damian cheered.
"..Dairy Queen it is."
"Ice cream's amazing." Damian said, already having some of it on his face.
"It is." I licked my ice cream. A/N: for those people who said they couldn't bite their ice cream a while ago — you're welcome XD
"Are you just the slightest bit happier?" Janis looked over at me.
"Mmm, yeah." I nod, smiling at her.
"Great!" She grins, patting my head.
We finally left Dairy Queen after buying Damian two more ice cream cones, we then went to the kids park — don't judge. It was fun.
And I finally made it home, which mom and dad were a bit upset that I was out so late, but they finally calmed down a bit when I told them I was out with Damian and Janis.
Janis's art show was tomorrow, I was beyond excited for her. And I knew she was going to win something.
The next day was Janis's artshow — I forgot why Cady couldn't make it, which I felt bad for Janis, she really wanted Cady to come.
It all went by in a blur. Janis had won a prize, which I knew she would. I mean, she is Janis.
And after that we went to McDonalds because Damian wouldn't stop complaining about how hungry he was.
It was overall an amazing night, we all had fun.
But, of course, it was ruined by just the smallest thing.
"You dirty little liar." Janis spat as Damian drove by our house.
Cady?
You couldn't even recognize her. Her outfit was completely different from something she'd normally wear and her hair was completely messed up.
From there, the two continued bickering until Janis threw her painting at Cady. "Here. You can have this, it won a prize." She spat, before Damian drove off yelling, "I want my pink shirt back!"
"Janis?" I slowly said. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah." She nods. "Just, hurt I guess." She shrugs.
"I'm sorry." I murmur. "Is there anything I can do to help?"
"Just, please stay my friend." She looks over at me, a sad look on her face.
"Of course. I'll always be your friend.."
Little did I know that tomorrow would be utter chaos.
