T H I R T Y - S I X
I quickly snapped from my thoughts then looked at Janis, biting my lip, a growing fear suddenly rose its way into my stomach.
"Okay uhm, I got an apology." Janis sighed, looking down at the girls, an upset tone laced her voice. "So - I have these friends.." she started, "And I convinced them it'd be fun to, mess up Regina George's life. And I had them pretend to be friends with her. We gave her these candy bar things that'd make her gain weight. And weee turned her best friends against her." She released a breath, a huge grin on her face. "Ah, I'm so sorry Regina. I-I dunno why I did it. It's probably because I have a big, lesbian crush on you. Suck on that! IAIAIAIAIAI!" (this was so fun to right huh.)
The crowd burst into cheers, cheering Janis's name.
Shit, fuck, damn.. agh. I helplessly looked around through the crowd to apologize to Regina personally. It would feel a lot.. more awkward in front of others, but she probably would be more calm if I did it in front them.
Blonde hair suddenly caught my gaze and I walked after her, fear only growing with each step I took. There were so many possibilities of how this could go wrong, and it was honestly scary.
"Regina." I yipped, following after her.
She only walked faster.
"Look Regina, I'm so sorry, you have the right to be mad at me but-"
"Glad I have your permission." Regina interrupted, stopping to turn around and look at me.
I looked down then sighed, "Is there any, any way i could make it up to you?"
"I don't know," Regina hissed. "Put yourself in my place. The girl who you have a crush on makes up a plan of sabotaging yourself. You lose your friends, your reputation,, well a lot of things valuable to you." She narrowed her eyes at me, tears now stung at her eyes.
"I.. Regina.. I'm..." I was lost for words. I wanted to pour my heart out to her, yet, that would be impossible to.
"I know it wasn't your idea," Regina murmured. "But you went along with it. Janis didn't.. force you."
"I know, I know.. look I'll leave you alone, from here on out. I'll try and talk my parents into homeschooling me again—" Regina interrupted me once again.
"Please, no." She quickly said, shaking her head. "Y/N, I care for you.. sadly." She huffed out. "And.. I'll only be more mad at you if you don't go here anymore."
"But I literally ruined your life, Regina." I guiltily looked at her. "I don't get why you don't want me to."
"I've ruined people's lives. Yet you forgive me, right?" Regina smiled faintly, it hardly was noticeable. She looked upset, yet she did care.
"Mhmmm, yes." I bit my lip.
"Okay." Regina wiped the tears that fell loosely down her face. "You're not - totally forgiven, I don't trust you as much-"
"I know." This time, I interrupted her. "I know and I understand. I'm just glad you're being.. this forgiving."
"Don't get used to it." Her slightly happy expression turned into a glare. "Okay?"
"Okay." I chuckled.
I swear I didn't see it coming.
I was too caught up in the moment.
When a flash of yellow collided with Regina's body.
