T H I R T Y - S E V E N
When you're about to finish this book and you're s a d . *sad dance*💃 <— that's me btw
It was strange.
Who seemed to cause the conflict in the first place was gone. And now, it didn't feel the same. She had been missing for about a month, and as much as I hate to admit it, I missed her.
Regina George had gotten ran over by a bus. The thought was crazy to think, it seemed almost unreal.
It seemed as if this was all fake and one day we'd all wake up and go back to a normal, high school life.. but this wasn't fake, this was reality.
No matter how hard you try, you can't stop the conflict going on in your life. But you can try and fix it.
It was a miracle Regina had survived in the first place. In fact, I'm surprised she even did. But I was grateful she did, nonetheless.
So, what I did next, was something I hoped I wouldn't regret.
I went to visit Regina. The thought seemed good at first. But now, it just seemed foolish.
She's mad at me. But it also seemed that she forgave me.. sorta. Not really, but I don't think she's as mad at me as she was before.
I quickly gathered up the confidence to open the door to Regina's mansion, then slowly walked in.
Mrs. George led me up to Regina's room, and with each step closer I took, the more worry started to flood in.
I still don't know why I'm going through with this, I frantically thought, There's millions of possibilities on how this could go wrong.
"Well, here she is." Mrs. George stood outside her room. "Oh, and Y/N?"
"Hmmm?" I pulled the flowers closer to my chest.
"Go get her," She winked. "Y'know normal moms wouldn't say that. But I'm not a regular mom. I'm a cool mom."
"Ahah, yeah." I blushed a little. "Okay bye." I quickly said and she walked off.
I released a breath while shaking my head. I finally opened the door, looking down for a second, "Regina?"
"Y/N?"
I shuffled over to the side of her bed then stood near her. "I'm sorry about what happened," I breathed. "I-I got you flowers?" I said, though it sounded more like a question.
"Thank you." She looked.. grateful. "Thank you, Y/N," she repeated. "It means a lot. It really does."
"No problem." I nodded, trying to stop myself from smiling. "I'm happy you're okay. I was really worried."
"I don't feel okay yet I am okay. It's confusing." She grumbled. "Oh - but thank you for caring."
"Mhmmm." I hummed. "Uhhh.. do you know when you'll be back? Like - back at school?"
"..The day before the Spring Fling." Regina answered. "Why ask?"
"I.. I guess I sorta miss you." I admitted, it was obvious that I was beyond embarrassed.
"Really?" A small smile played at her lips. "I'm glad. How's school been?"
"Quiet." I answered her. "Way too quiet."
"Mm," Regina tried nodding her head but winced instead. "Sorry."
"You don't have to apologize." I gently said. "It's not your fault."
"It kinda is." She huffed. "I should've jumped out of the way."
"You didn't see it coming." I tried reasoning with her. "And we were talking. You were distracted, I didn't hear it either."
"I guess so," Regina sighed, closing her eyes.
There was an awkward moment of silence. Both of us tried thinking of something to say but nothing came up.. that was, until Regina finally found something to say that definitely caught my attention, "Would you go to the Spring Fling with me?"
"Huh!?" I yipped. She had only said a few words, yet, I was flustered. "I mean.. sure. Yes I will."
"Great." Regina smiled, light blush dusting her face. "Do you mind picking me up? I would pick you up but I don't think I can drive."
I smiled at her then happily nodded. "Of course."
"Coolness." She seemed to smile even more.
I had made Regina George smile.. a genuine smile. What an accomplishment.
