All My Secrets

The team flew back to the mountain in complete silence in varying degrees of shock and fear, they didn't know what that thing was. The only one that might was Phantom and he didn't look like he wanted to talk at the moment or, possibly, ever. Even if he did none of them knew what to say, they just found out Phantom had been telling the truth the whole time.

After the second long and uncomfortably silent trip of the day they finally got back to the mountain. Most of the team left immediately and Robin walked up to Phantom as the halfa stood, "Are you okay?"

Phantom nodded, "I'm not exactly happy with what happened but I'm okay."

Robin looked a little worried but he didn't press the matter for now, he grabbed Phantom's hand and the two walked out of the bio-ship. Batman was there and he didn't seem happy, "What happened?"

Phantom spoke, "Shouldn't you know oh great detective, besides you think that what 'happened' is in my head."

Batman glared at him a little, "This isn't a joke Phantom."

Aqualad spoke, "Batman, we saw it."

Batman looked at Aqualad before examining all of the young heroes faces and all of them said it was true. About ten minutes later they found themselves sitting in the living room with all of their mentors and Black Canary. Black Canary spoke, "So let me get this straight, you all saw Phantom's delusion?"

Miss Martian spoke, "It wasn't a delusion, it was real."

Green Arrow spoke, "Hold on, I thought it was impossible for this, whatever they saw, to be real."

Robin spoke, "Just like it was impossible for ghosts to exist?" That made everyone pause and Robin continued, "And before you say we might have seen it because Miss Martian is a telepath let me stop you. She hadn't made a mind link yet and I saw it earlier today when Phantom and I were at school."

Batman looked Robin in the eye, "Why didn't you tell me about this?"

Phantom rolled his eyes, "You seemed hell bent on saying I was delusional and Robin was the only one that didn't agree. If he told you he saw him you would have thought he was either lying or somehow became delusional too."

Batman wanted to deny it, he really did, but he knew Phantom was right so he stayed silent. Flash spoke, "Hold on, you just said he."

Phantom looked irritated, "No shit, my ever evasive nightmare is a guy."

Artemis spoke, "So that thing is actually a person?"

"Oh so now you want to know about my 'delusion'." No one knew what to say, after almost a month of saying Phantom was basically going insane they had finally found out they were wrong. Robin held Phantom's hand and the halfa quietly sighed, "Fine, but if anyone says I'm lying or that I'm crazy I'm leaving."

None of the heroes argued, Phantom was the only one that knew anything about this guy and they had already doubted him enough. Phantom was quiet for a second, "I don't know who, or even what he is, I just know what he can do."

Black Canary spoke, "When was the first time you saw him?"

Phantom was silent again, "The first time I saw him I was a little kid, I was still with my 'family' and I wasn't this." Phantom looked at his hands and he seemed a bit mad before he continued, "It was the first, and technically last, year of school I ever had. Kids were assholes, teachers didn't care, and the parents were too busy with other shit to notice."

"One day a kid somehow started a fire, everyone ran and guess who got trapped in the room. I tried to find a way out but couldn't find one, then I saw this figure standing in the flames and I looked at it. His clothes were black, his skin somehow seemed more black then his clothes, like he had been completely charred."

"The long coat and brimmed hat were two of the first things I noticed, then it clicked that he was literally standing in fire. He never moved, never even blinked, and it didn't take that long to realize he was staring at me. A room full of fire and the only thing he looked at was me, like he was waiting for me to do something."

"By now it was getting hard to breathe and the smoke was burning my eyes but this guy didn't even care. I wasn't even paying attention to the fire anymore, something about that guy made him more terrifying then, well, anything. I couldn't move, even when I heard shouting I couldn't, then I felt someone grab me and carry me out of the room."

"I didn't know if what I saw was real or not, maybe it was just the smoke messing with my head. But of course this is my life so it's never that simple, he was real and I learned that pretty damn quickly."

Kid Flash spoke, "What happened?"

Phantom laughed coldly, "What do you think, he showed up again."

Superman hesitated before speaking, "Where did he show up?"

Phantom ran a hand through his hair, "My house, less then a week after the fire I heard someone knocking on the door early in the morning. I'm a light sleeper unlike everyone else in that damn house so I got up to see who the hell was at the door. The door had a small window in it and when I looked through it he was there, just staring at me like he did before."

"I ran up to my room and refused to leave, I looked out my window every few minutes, he was always there. He just stared at the door, he didn't even turn his head which confused a terrified me, if he had looked at me I know I would have run out of that house. I would have run like my life depended on it and never looked back but he'd find me anyway."

"That wasn't long before I 'disappeared' and I never saw him in there, I only saw him when I tried to escape. I either had to risk being out here with him looking for me or in that lab with a building full of agents that hate me. Now I'm here and he's showing up again, sooner or later he'll always find me and there's no telling what'll happen next time I see him."

The heroes looked at Phantom and then at each other, now they knew this guy was real and had been showing up around Phantom for years. The worst part that the only one that thought Phantom had been telling the truth was Robin, they messed up.
