Part 12
Chester's pov:
-Oh my god, Mandy look at this! -I ran up to her as soon as I got home, grasping the little rag doll in my hands.
-What is that? And why does it look like you?
-It's a doll! Edgar got it for me from the arcade. -I explained.
-Ohh he got you a present~? -she asked wiggling her eyebrows.
-It's not like that. I got a plush for him too.
-So you got presents for each other? And you're tryna tell me that's not gay? -Mandy said with a dumbfounded expression.
-It's not gay! It's a present for fucks sake, you can give them to anyone. -I crossed my arms and huffed.
-Yea yea sure, whatever you wanna believe. -she said in a mocking tone.
-You're so mean Mandy! Why do you have to stick your nose into everything?
-I'm not nagging you or anything, I'm just trying to help you!
-By bullying me? -I raised my eyebrows in confusion.
-By trying to make you realize that the boy you like, could like you back!
-How do you know that I like him??
-Bitch I've known you since you were born! I can read you like a fucking book. But even without that it's still really obvious...
-No it's not!
-Chester sweetie, I can assure you that the only one who doesn't know you like Edgar, is Edgar himself. -Mandy sighed as she rubbed her temples.
-No, that can't be true! It's really not that obvious...right? -I asked shakily and Mandy just stared down at me with an expression that screamed "really?".
I sat down on the couch and rested my head in my hands, sighing as I did so. Mandy just sat down next to me, rubbing my shoulder.
-But you said he doesn't know right? I mean Edgar.
-Doesn't look like he's aware, but I can see signs that he likes you too. -Mandy smiled.
-You think so? -I raised my head to look at her.
-I mean he's way more subtle about it than you, but I can clearly see that he likes you. I'm not sure if it's love tho, or if he's just like that, I don't really know him.
-That's true. So do you think I should confess or something? -I said after a bit of thinking.
-I mean, you shouldn't rush it. Obviously you can't know how he feels until you ask, so you might get rejected. -She warned.
-I know that, and that makes me a bit scared, cause what if he doesn't want to be friends anymore?
-I don't think he's like that, but it would be awkward anyway.
I laid back and thought about it for a second. I think I've got a decent chance actually. Is it worth taking a risk tho?
-I think I'll confess to him when we go to that concert.
-What concert? -Mandy asked, confused.
-Draco's, on saturday.
-WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO A DRACO CONCERT???
-Yea, and I'm taking Edgar as a surprise. -I explained.
-Aren't his tickets like super expensive?? Did you ask dad to lend you money?!
-Bingo.
-How did you even convince him? He's so bitchy when it comes to spending his money on fun.
-I may or may not have told him that I'm courting a girl and wanted to impress her. -I said, rubbing the back of my neck with an embarrassed smile.
-Oh wow, just straight up lying huh.
-It's not really lying! Just the part where it's about a girl...but you know how dad is, I can't tell him I'm gay!
-I really want to kick his homophobic ass, honestly he deserves to be lied to. -Mandy huffed.
We chatted as I yapped about how excited I am to surprise Edgar with this, also explained my little confession plan to her. She warned me that it might not go exactly how I wanted so I should be prepared for any changes. But soon it got late, so we had dinner and went to bed after. As I climbed under my thin sheets, I stared at the jester doll for a while, before hugging it and going off to sleep with a smile on my face.

I woke up to my alarm ringing as my phone complimented it by a buzzing noise every second, the vibrations making the device slowly move on the top of my nightstand. After I successfully turned the music down, I sat up and rubbed my eyes. Gosh I was woken up mid-dream, I'm so tired right now. A little bit disoriented, I stood up and looked into the mirror; my hair was pointing everywhere and I looked like I needed glasses with how I was squinting my eyes.
I opened my closet and started rummaging through the drawers, looking for appropriate street wear for the day. I put on a white shirt and some jersey shorts, since the weather has been very hot lately with summer just around the corner. I bet Edgar will pull up in jeans and a long sleeve shirt again, literally how is he not burning like that?
Anyway I soon got ready for the day and left the house. I walked the usual route to college, but this time I was carrying my new doll in my bag. I shortly arrived to the classroom, a bit earlier than usual actually. I sat down and waited for my friends quietly, seeing that there were only a few people here. As I grew bored, I got the doll out of my bag, making it sit against my pencil case.
-Cute doll. -Colette appeared out of nowhere, scaring the shit out of me.
-Uhm thanks? -I was more wary of her now, thanks to our last interaction.
-Where did you get it?
-Uhm Edgar got it for me at the arcade. -I said, pretty uncomfortable around her.
-It's so odd that it looks like you... what a coincidence, right? -she smiled.
-What are you getting at Colette?
-Oh, nothing! Don't you worry about it.
-Did you make this? No, cause how would you sneak it into a claw machine..?
-I may or may not have a hand in you acquiring this. -she smiled again, trying to look innocent but all I saw was the devil.
-Answer me 100% truthfully, is this a voodoo doll? -I was genuinely going insane by the tension she brought.
-I don't know! We should test it out!
She laid the doll out flat on the desk as she pulled her hand into a fist and proceeded to bash the head of the doll. Thankfully I didn't die, and the doll suffered no damage.
-Stop scaring me please.
-Hehehehehehe! Well, have a good day! -She giggled and then skipped off to her seat.
What a great way to start the day huh?
Not that long after, the gang arrived, and I told them all about this creepy interaction I had with Colette. Edgar seemed to be thinking, trying to put the pieces together on how this stalker bitch managed to place
the doll into our property without any of us noticing. It was a true mystery, and we agreed on setting it aside for an other day.
-Ughhhh let this week end already! -Edgar complained.
-Whyy? Aren't you having fun hanging out with us? -I fake pouted.
-No, I am, I just hate school. -he crossed his arms.
-We should go to the cinema after school, there's a really cool new movie! -Bibi butted into our conversation.
-We were literally at the mall yesterday. -Edgar raised his eyebrows.
-If you think I'll be funding your tickets, you got the wrong idea Bibs. -Fang said, not even looking up from his phone.
-Oh yea you're working today. We'll accompany you when you go there, and we can just go shopping until the movie starts! -Bibi smiled.
-Sounds like plan! You're coming too, right Ed? -I asked, nudging his shoulder.
-Sure I guess. -he said coldly, but he had a smile on his face.
We went on with our days, eventually meeting up at lunchtime. The others finished up their cafeteria food, while I ate my packed sandwich (thanks Mandy), and we got back into our last class for the day. As soon as the literature teacher left the classroom, we packed up and left school grounds, not wasting any of our free time in this building.

Edgar's pov:
We walked to the bus stop, getting on the already familiar bus, heading to the mall. As we entered the white spacious building, Fang headed to the cinema, already a slight bit late for his working hours.
-So what do we do? We got like an hour before our film starts. -Bibi questioned.
-We should go look at some clothes! I would love some accessories too actually, I think Edgar could help me out. -Chester giggled at me.
-Me? -I asked, raising an eyebrow.
-Yeah! You got all those fancy rings and bracelets, I'm way too basic compared to you!
-There's nothing wrong with not wearing accessories, but it can boost your outfit. Let's go to claire's, they have all the good stuff. -I said, and started going in the direction of the mentioned store.
We walked along with tons of other people in the mall, slowly making our way to the familiar purple headline of the store. Chester walked around the relatively tiny room, checking out bracelets, rings, necklaces and earrings, probably looking for something clowny. I also looked around, just in case I found something cool, but nothing really caught my eye so I walked up to Chester to help him pick.
-Those colorful ones would look good on you. -I pointed to a pack of different colorful beaded bracelets.
-Oooo these are really cute! You're right, they fit so well! I'm gonna get them. -He picket it off the hook, carrying it to the register.
He paid for his bracelets, then we left and headed for some other stores. I chatted with Chester, while Bibi walked behind us, starting to look a little frustrated.
-Ed why the fuck am I third wheeling here?? You completely forgot I'm here! -Bibi pulled me to the side, annoyed.
-You're not third wheeling! But I'm sorry that I haven't paid enough attention to you. -I patted her shoulders, to which her expression softened.
-Sorry for bursting out like that, but you can't even take your eyes off of each other, while I'm walking behind you guys! -Bibi explained.
-Okay that's just not true.
-It is tho! I wouldn't even be surprised if you held hands while walking.
-What are you on about, why would we hold hands? -I was confused, but Bibi just gave me a look. -Oh my gosh Bibi, I'm not in love with him!
-You so are! OMG THATS WHY YOU WARMED UP TO HIM SO FAST!
-Shut up! Okay maybe I do have a crush on him or something, but it's really not like that! We're just friends.
-Although you're hoping to be more than that, aren't you? -she smirked, making me flush red.
-There you are guys! You could've told me you stopped, I continued walking onward without realizing. -Chester chuckled.
-Oh, yea, sorry man. -I said, still a bit flustered.
We continued walking like nothing happened, although my brain refused to shut up. Do I really LOVE love him? Or just the way friends like each other? No, I'm very much over that point now. But the real question is, would I actually date him? I don't really know if I'm ready for a serious relationship, not after what Emz did. I don't want Chester to do the same, and although I know he's different and wouldn't, I can't help but fear the worst. What if I'm not enough for him or he finds someone better? I mean if he ever even considers dating me. Would I even have a chance?
We walked past a few shops, checking out some, until it was time to head to the cinema.
