I reopened up my eyes and tried to see who it was but I didn't see anyone so I closed my eyes again. I was one second away from going to sleep when I heard someone shout.

"VIOLET!" I jumped out of panic and almost fell off my bed.

"What?" I said irritated.

"Do you think we could be friends?" a kid like tone was present in how Adam spoke.

"Sure."

"Best friends?" i rolled my eyes at his constant questions.

"Yeah okay," I reply in a monotone.

"Okay, sorry to wake you."

"Uh-huh." I hum getting comfortable again.

It wasn't until I heard the door close when my eyes opened wide and I realized what he asked me.

I finally have a friend who wants to be my friend knowing what I do. I had a smile on my face and I went to sleep. The next day I woke up at 7:00 a.m. Wow, I finally went to bed without waking up to cut myself, Awesome. I had a smile on my face again. I got out of bed and put on my slippers. I went out my room and down stairs to see if anyone was up.

"Oh violet I have to go to work, but I will be back later. adam has school but he'll be home before I am."

"Okay, Mary."

"Adam hurry up you are going to be late for the bus again!"

"OK OK, I'm going."

"Bye Mary. bye, Violet."

Adam gave me a hug to say goodbye. He went out the door closing it behind him.

"Uhh, so whats going on between you two?" mary raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, nothing we are just friends...best friends."

"Mmmhhhm, okay well see you later baby." Mary walked out the door. I stood there for a minute and then went to go back upstairs when Adam came through the door.

"What are doing here you, aren't you supposed to be at school?"

" I am but I didn't want to leave you here by yourself. I mean if I did that then what kind of best friend would I be?"

"Adam thank you for caring about me I appreciate it a lot, but it's not the first time I have been left alone by myself."

"I know but I don't want to leave you." I smiled. I just could not hold it back.

"OK so what do you want to do."

"I don't know, go to the park?" I shrugged suggesting the park.

"Yeah, cool go and get dressed and we can go."

"Alright, I'll be right back." I put on a grey and black t-shirt, blue shorts, my dark blue sneakers, my heart necklace, and I brushed my bangs to the side. Then went to leave my room, I opened my laptop and took a picture for the first time in 5 years and I didn't cover my face for once either.

hopping down the stairs like a maniac, Adam catches my fall when I trip over my own feet. 

"thanks." I gulped waiting to be put down.

"watch yourself." he chuckles. once my feet hit the ground we leave the house.
