After class, Donavin gathered his things, and put them back in his bag. As he stood up, he made his way towards the door, and looked back to see if Maya was still there. Maybe she would help him to the next class. But she was sitting at her desk, talking to a few other girls. He saw her glance at him slightly, but her gaze flickered past, and she completely ignored him. The principal probably asked her to help him get to his first class, then she dumped him. She didn't matter to him anyways, and as he was going to go through the door, he bumped into someone.

"Oh, I'm sorry," Donvin said, looking at the person he bumped into. The person he bumped into was a beautiful girl with flashy blue eyes, silky blond hair, and a charming toothy smile. She had a friend next to her, who had black hair pulled into a ponytail, hazel eyes, and brown glasses that were sparkly and curved at the edge.

"It's fine," the blond haired girl said. "Hey, you must be new," she said, weirdly looking him up and down. "My name is Clara, and this is my friend Kinsley." She said all to happily, and beckoned to her friend, who gave him a small and shy wave.

"Nice to meet you," Donavin responded. "I'm sure you heard in class, but my name is Donavin."

"Yes, Donavin Huxley," Clara repeated his name, emphasizing his last name. "Your relatives have a strong history in this town. But I'm sure you know that already." She waved her hands as if trying to act as if it was silly.

"Yea.....I do," he said, thinking how strange this was. A girl knowing his family's history, and telling him about it. The thing was, his family did have a strong history. Half of his family was vampire hunters and the other half, strangely enough, was vampires. They hated, and hunted each other, until one remained, or it was thought most of the vampires ran away, which was true.

But surely she'd just know about the hunter part right? And she would think it really was silly; a myth. He hung on to that thought, but not to tightly, thinking she couldn't possibly know either.

"Well, nice meeting you," he told her after an awkward second, letting her and her friend out the door first. She waved back at him, and he noticed her friend slowed down, and frequently kept looking back at him. Not the creepy he's hot look, but something else he didn't feel comfortable with. She ran to Clara when she snapped at her, almost as if she did whatever Clara told her.

Donavin hurried to the next class, and was relieved to find none of the people he had met in the last one. He sat down at his desk, pushing away all of the worrisome thoughts about the teacher, and Clara's friend. He was just being paranoid.

After he had come home from school, he hunted a few squirrels and drank his fill. It didn't completely quench the screaming desire for the human stuff, but he said he would try and not kill anyone. Plus, if the need became to strong, which it rarely did, he did have some stashed in the basement.

He went back to his room, and was looking out the window when Leroy stormed in. The door banged loudly against the wall, startling him.

"Woa-" Donavin started, whipping around.

"Don't say anything," Leroy said, his eyebrows creased angrily, heat rising in his face from the redness on his cheeks. "I know. I saw the news. You promised!" His voice warbled as he shook his finger at Donavin. "It doesn't seem like one of you did it, but if you shred them enough..."

"What are you talking about?" Donavin said steadily, just over Leroys voice. He stood up and walked over to him.

"What do I mean?" Leroy said in frustration. "WHAT do I mean?? Did you see the news? Two bodies reported missing, then found in literal pieces right in these woods beside the road. Animal was said to be the cause..."

"And you think I did it?" Donavin ran a hand through his hair, turning away, and then back. He looked Leroy straight in the eyes. "I know, that you know I very well could. But I did not do that. I would not risk that kind of thing. And even if I did, there would be no notion of the bodies afterwards." He stared at Leroy calmly.

Leroy looked between both of Donavins cool blue eyes, searching for some kind of flicker that showed he was lying, but he found nothing. Maybe he could be hiding it, but his eyes said that he was telling the truth.

Sighing, Leroy finally looked away. "Ok," he said. "Then who do you think did it?"

"That's the problem," said Donavin, gazing back out the window. "I have no idea."
