Here we are, the end of another story! I can't believe April and Nico have come this far but the ride was worth every bump and groove it took. This little section is found at the end of all of my full length novels. It is my nod to all of the  back stage, docu-style looks into the "making of" DVD features and behind the music peeks at the way a band made its name. Welcome to my semi-creative process of infusing romance and music into my world of writing!

All that grease...

There is something about me and grease...I don't know what it is but every guy I write ends up being a gear head. My husband is NOT a gear head, or handy. He doesn't have tattoos or ride a motorcycle but that comes up a lot for me as well. No clue. But it worked in my favor when half way through plotting this I realized that Nico and Brax (from inevitable) could exist in the same universe.

When I wrote Nico and April in MTT, she had a thing against his greasy hands (no nookie until your hands are clean!) so that was my inspiration for the very first paragraph with Nico at the burger place. Their wedding vows told their entire meet cute story, so I took those lines and turned them into two complete chapters. Then I had to figure out the conflict, what kept them apart. Nico's backstory was solid in MTT so I knew where he was coming from. April's was less clear, but her personality was solid so I started asking myself what would make a girl that tough? I wondered if she was covering up pain, so that's what I started to explore

This imagining of Nico and April have kick started some changes to be made in her role in MTT. I need to change her use of the nickname "Doll" for Amber. It might morph to something like "Queen" but we'll see...

Pick up lines and more

One of the things that I wanted to really go overboard with were Nico's pick up lines. I will admit that NONE of his lines are original. I just googled pick up lines and made a note of anything I thought he might say. Two that fully stood out were the ones about her owing him a drink because I had already planned for April to dump her soda on his head. That was the perfect lead in. The other was the one about needing a pencil so he could erase their past and rewrite their future. I knew that would come later in the story after some kind of fight and lead to their kiss in the grocery store, which was also a line mentioned in MTT. 

There's talk about what a bad cook April is in MTT which never really came up in this book, but I might add a scene or two somewhere in the middle when they are in their happy dating stage. April's penchant for calling Nico "bitch" was prominent in MTT so I played around a lot with the whys and hows. I love her reasoning! and that's Mr and Mrs. Bitch from now on, haha!

Music of course

I don't make playlists, I make soundtracks. Every single song selection says something about the story, either in mood or character. Sometimes it is truly reflecting the plot, but more often it evokes a feeling. If you need a read with tons of music references infused, give Queen of the Headphone Zombies a try, on my profile and cowritten with Catrina Burgess. That playlist is epic and really does reflect every plot point and character arc.

I CANT WAIT TO SHARE MATT'S PLAYLIST! This series is very John Hughes. My main movie inspiration was Some Kind Of Wonderful, but all of his movies inspire, so the music reflects that era and feeling with a bit of 90's thrown in. 

Fallbrook Hills

I am SO excited to have finally pulled all of the stories into the same universe! This story and MTT are considered Fallbrook Hills-Jefferson High. Matt and Jeff's story will introduce you to Fallbrook University (aka F.U. hahahahahaha...the freshman will have a field day with that one) and those will be a little edgier than these first two stories have been. Just a heads up. 

My inevitable/unexpected duet is part of Fallbrook Hills, the Blue Bloods, which is Grinder's tattoo parlor. I have a spin off planned called Salt Creek, which is a little resort in the mountains above Fallbrook Hills. Those will be novellas so a bit shorter. There will be the Marin Ranch series about a set of six siblings, the first one I wrote about is the Hero in Not Another Diva, and he kick starts the Not Another Hollywood Story, all about rock stars and A listers falling in love. We met his sisters in his story and now I want to give them a series on their ranch. THERE ISN"T ENOUGH TIME IN THE DAY TO GET THESE STORIES OUT OF MY HEAD! But I'm gonna try!

Matt and More

Get ready to meet some Alpha men! I usually write beta's. They are strong guys but aren't the type to claim a woman, or growl at others. Brax was an Alpha in denial. Nico is beta in the sense that he doesn't go dragging April off to his cave but he claimed her without her even realizing it. Garrett is the anti-alpha and Zack (my Diva hero) is the definition of beta.

But Matt is an alpha male. Jeff is an Alpha in training. Then their F.U. buddies Micah and Gio will have Alpha tendencies a but defer their title unless they get their own story.  It's possible that some beta behaviors will be written, especially in Jeff's story because he is not that outspoken and demonstrative, but the fact that they are Alpha's will remain.
