Late bloomer - 17
*Lilly's pov*
"No! Stop!" I yelled and scratched him. Why was he doing this? I scratched his face and ran out.
I woke up and sat up. I was breathing hard, as if I was reliving the moment. I growled and glared at the wall.
"Harlem!" I yelled. He came running out of his side room. "What happened?" He asked. I saw the scar I gave him on his chest.
His shirt was off. "Nothing. Just... Thinking." I didn't want to tell him I dreamed about that night.
"Sorry. Go back to sleep." He nodded and went to the room. I fell back and kept my eyes open.
I never like to close them. It makes me feel vulnerable. My mind went to Deon. How's he doing through all of this?
What about Joe? How's he doing? I haven't talked to Joli in a while... I need to talk to them.
'Joe? I know it's early, but I'm just saying I'm okay. I extended my stay for a while. I don't know when I'm coming back.'
I waited for a while.
'Where the hell are you?!? We have been worried sick about you!'
'Sorry. I just don't feel like I'm welcome yet. And I don't think I'm ready to go back.'
'Lilly. I know what happened. We even have someone from there telling us you're there. You know Kyla?'
My eyes widened and I sat up.
'Kyla's there?'
'Yeah. It was a shock to us too. She told us what happened. It was pretty brutal. For both of you.'
I looked at the bed covers. She was at the pack. She was safe.
'We're coming to get you in a month. Stay safe until then. Okay?'
'No. Their troops have tripled since you were here. Your not going to make it if you try to get me. I have to escape on my own. I'll figure it out.'
I cut off the link and got out of bed. I started pacing around my room. I knocked on Harlem's door.
"I'm going to get a snack, want anything?" I asked through the door. He opened the door and my eyes fell upon the scar.
It was pretty deep. I guess my claws had come out. "No. I'm fine. But I should probably go with you." I nodded and walked out.
There was a nice breeze going through the white hall. We made it to the kitchen and I opened the fridge.
I took out the Chinese food with a post it note saying 'Do NOT I REPEAT, NOT! eat please.'
"You might not want to eat that. It's Peter's food." He warned me. I shrugged and ate it.
By the time I was done, Harlem was eating food and it was morning. We left the kitchen to go get changed into work clothes.
We got changed and talked for a while. We trained and then we went to go eat lunch. We stopped when we heard a slam.
After that there was a growl, pop, and scratching on the tile. Then there was a light golden wolf bursting through the doors.
He headed straight towards Harlem. And he looked angry. "It wasn't me this time. I swear." Harlem said.
"I didn't eat your food man!" He yelled as the beast came forward. Harlem back away. Wuss.
"It was me Peter. I ate you damn food. And guess what, it was good." I said. His head whipped towards me. He was taken back a little.
Peter trained with me a couple of times when I was younger. He was good. Sometimes he would beat me. Although he was, like, fifteen years older than me.
Anyway. He slowly came towards me. I glared into his eyes. "I dare you." I said and snarled. He went to attack and I dodged.
I shifted and charged. I bit his neck and squeezed. I heard a small crack then I was shocked.
I let go and fell to the ground. I looked up to Peter and glared. I shifted after I was given a blanket and still glared at him.
"It was just some damn Chinese food."

I walked down the hall to train some more. Harlem walking behind me and someone in front.
Harlem came closer to me and started talking. "Remember when we first met?" He asked.
"Stop! Please don't hurt me!" I heard someone scream. I turned the corner and there were two men pulling a boy and a girl.
They sat them down and started asking questions. "What are you names?" The man asked.
"Harlem." The boy said. "Kyla." The girl said. They kept asking questions. I walked in.
"Garry asked to see you two. He sent me to watch them." They nodded and left. I was to be trusted here.
"Help us get out! We were stolen from our family. We did nothing wrong. I swear!" The boy yelled.
"I doubt you did. I didn't do anything wrong. But they still took me." I said. "How old were you when you got here? How old are you now?" He asked.
"I'm five. I got here when I was a kid. They never told me where I was from. All I know, it that there are monsters here. And there's one in me."
"Yes." I said. "Remember what you said?" He asked. "About the monsters?" He continued. I nodded. "Why?"
"Because. I need you help with a project. It's to get a fifteen year old to shift. He's a late bloomer."
"Why me?" I asked. "Because he only talks to girls. He's at that age." He said. "No." I said. "Oh. I wasn't asking."
He pulled out the button for the collar. I huffed out a sigh and nodded. Then we got to the training room.
We trained for a while. It was all so easy. Then we started walking to the boy's room.
I found out his name was Terrain. I knocked on the door. "Who is it!" He yelled.
I knocked again. "I said, who is it!" He yelled. I knocked again. I heard a couple of shuffles and the door opened.
His eyes widened. "A girl." He said. He waved the come in motion and walked in.
I walked in and his room was a mess. There were clothes everywhere. "Hi." He said nervously.
"Do you want this to be the hard way, or the extra hard way?" I asked. His eyes widened.
"I'm helping you shift." I said to clarify. His eyes relaxed. "The hard way." He said.
"Okay, but you will have to get out of the room." I said. He shook his head. I then grabbed him by the ankle and dragged him out.
As I was dragging him across the halls, people were watching his scream and yell.
We got the the training room and I locked the door. I let go of him and he quickly stood.
"Are you a full breed or half?" I asked. "Full" he said. No chance of him not shifting.
"Fight me." I said. "But I might hurt you. I'm unpredictable!" He said. "Fight. Me." I growled out.
He rushed towards me and attacked. I grabbed him by the collar and pushed him to the ground.
"Try harder!" I yelled. He stood. "You're strong." I swiped at him and hit him in the face.
"Don't get distracted!" I swiped again and he dodged. He zoomed the the other side of the room and raced towards me.
I turned around and grabbed his neck. He held his hands on mine to get me off.
"Shift!" I yelled. His face was turning purple. I let got when one of his hands fell.
He coughed and sat down. I kicked him in the side. "No slacking. Shift." He struggled to get up and move. There was blood all over him.
I decided I would stop. "Let me tell you a story. I wasn't here when I shifted. No one saw me shift. That's when I learned I was a monster. I was alone. With no one to help me. I was... Scared. I was... Hopeless. I thought that the damage had been done. I thought I was going to die. Then I see this fox. It's glaring at me. Snarling. And I stare at it. Then I see a den. It was only protecting the home. So I kill it and take it's home. I lived there for a long time. Until I learned how to shift back. Then this girl found me. She took me in. She let me go to school with her. I lived with her until I went to high school and got a job. Then I was captured again." I said.
"How is that relevant?" He asked. "Because. You're that girl. You're all alone. You need that one person that can save you. You need your wolf to save you. Speak to it. Talk to it. Communicate."
He closed his eyes and leaned his head back. "Do you hear a voice?" I asked. He shook his head. "I'm hopeless." He said.
"No. You're just alone." I said. I pointed to my collar. "It's silver. Touch it." I said. He skimmed his hand against it.
He pulled back. "Ouch! What the heck was that?" He asked. "Silver." I said. There was a red mark on his hand.
Then he held himself. "It hurts so much." He whispered. His bones were cracking. He was shifting.
He stood on his skinny grey legs. "Okay. Terrain. You just shifted. It's okay." I said. "Just think of the yourself as a human."
Then there was a naked boy on the ground. He looked at me and covered up his bits with a blanket in the shelf.
"How?" He asked. "You wolf comes out to protect you from the silver. But also is the cause of the pain of silver."
"Anyway. I'll train you if you want. I'm one of the best." I bragged. He nodded. "Let's get you back to your room." I said.
I walked out and Harlem was there. "He still alive?" He asked. I nodded. "He shifted." I said and walked off, letting Harlem take care of the boy.
