Chapter Five: Vacation

Focus.

I told myself to focus countless of times already, but to no avail. With Park Jimin sitting so close beside me, it was indeed a big distraction.

"Did you get number three?" Jimin asked and tilted his head towards me, causing me to jump a little on my seat.

Hesitant, I nodded slowly. In reality though, I didn't really catch a thing of what he was saying a few minutes ago, since I was busy thinking about him.

"Alright, let's move on then," He said and flipped through the pages of the mathematics book I borrowed from the library long time ago.

A heavy sigh escaped my mouth as I watched him completely focused on the book. Suddenly, I started missing studying with him, since everytime we do, we would always end up doing a movie marathon or just cuddle together in bed.

My gaze then unconsciously fell onto his beautiful fingers that he used to be insecure of. I used to love them, until I noticed the silver ring that was tightly wrapped around his ring finger. Without knowing, my eyebrows furrowed together. I grew extremely curious.

But I didn't ask him about it in the middle of the tutoring session. He would probably think I was being a nosy person who couldn’t get over him, which might be true, but refused to admit.

This is absurd, I thought. Instead of trying to comprehend and learn, I ended up getting frustrated about a thing that supposedly shouldn’t bother me anymore.

"Jimin, I... I honestly didn't get number three," I blurted out. He stopped turning the pages and looked at me with his mouth slightly open.

Jimin sighed and threw his head back slightly, his adam's apple bobbed in his throat. "Y/N," He mumbled under his breath, fingers slightly massaging the bridge of his nose while his eyes are closed.

"I'm sorry." I scratched my head, laughing it off a little. "I'll focus this time, I promise." I sighed out, straightening my posture and completely giving my attention to the book.

"Alright, let's start over again. Listen carefully this time," Jimin said, but we were interrupted when two soft knocks were heard. He stood up and went to get it, revealing my mom as the door opened widely.

"Hey, I just came here check how the both of you are doing." Mom smiled as she leaned against the door frame.

"Mom, we're doing fine," I said.

"Oh, also, uncle Boris is coming over later. You guys might want to fix up and welcome him." She informed us as if a fun thing was about to happen, though in reality I almost choked when I heard about it. Jimin felt the same way, I was sure.

"Okay?" I answered, not so delightedly.

"Okay, auntie. We'll continue to study here and fix up later." Jimin beamed at mother, lightly tapping the desk with the pencil.

"Alright. Good luck, you two. I'm glad you're finally getting along again," Mom said before closing the door. And at that moment, I wished mom didn't say anything since I thought it made us go back to being awkward with each other again.

"Well, it looks like we have to hangout with uncle Boris again," Jimin said in a rather unpleased tone, his expression seemed disatisfied.

"I know right." I rolled my eyes slightly. "I seriously want to see him again after so many years, but for sure he'll confiscate our phones again and then bring us to his boring villa with no wifi connection," I said, reminiscing the moments we had experienced back in the days.

The corner of Jimin's lips slightly curved upwards, but disappeared quickly. I, on the other hand, felt extremely nervous. It seemed as if life wanted us to be involved with one another again.

Before uncle Boris could ask, I pondered carefully on how I could reject his offer, and finally came up with the decision that I wouldn't be able to go with the reason of me doing my thesis that is due soon.

In less than two hours, Jimin and I had finally finished studying for today. I learned pretty easily and quickly, but I had trouble concentrating after knowing uncle Boris was coming over.

I was fixing my things and cleaning my the table when someone knocked on the door and opened it slightly, without warning. Up until now I would still wonder how in the world did mom not catch us doing naughty stuff before by her sudden actions such as opening the door without permission and suddenly darting into my room.

"Jimin, Y/N, come downstairs. Uncle Boris can't wait to see you both," Mom called out and then she closed the door afterwards.

I sucked in a breath, trying to stay calm and collected. Before leaving the room, I made sure to look presentable. I eyed myself in the mirror, combing my hair down, and at the corner of the reflecting surface, I noticed that Jimin was glancing at me. He immediately looked away when we made eye contact though, causing me stop fixing my hair.

"Excuse me," Jimin said in a very awkward tone, and I nodded in response before he left my room.

A sack of disappointment was left sitting in my chest.

I wasn't so sure of myself whether I still love Jimin or not, because there are times that I admit to myself still being drawn to him, but most of the time, I want him out of my life. I knew it wouldn't be that easy though, knowing we would affect the people around us, and that we were family friends. The last thing we both wanted was to cause a chaos between our families.

Soon after I fixed myself, I headed downstairs where everyone was waiting. And the moment I stepped in the living room, uncle Boris went overjoyed.

"Y/N!" He exclaimed in a merry way, standing up from the couch and walking towards me with his arms wide open, signaling for an embrace.

I smiled delicately as I went to close the gap between us. "Hey uncle Boris," I said, my voice was muffled due to him hugging me so tight.

"You've really grown so much," He commented, ruffling my hair before releasing me from his arms. "Anyway," He paused and dragged Jimin next to me. "before I flew here, I decided we should go on a mini vacation in my villa just like the old times," He said.

My eyes glossed over to Jimin, giving him the 'I-told-you' look. I then cleared my throat before speaking.

"Well uncle Boris, I'm sorry to say this, but I can't go. I still have so many stuff to do, and I also have a thesis to submit soon," I said, in hopes of him to bite onto that.

"Oh, no problem. We could always reschedule, you know," He replied so delightedly, making me facepalm myself mentally.

Jimin snorted slightly, and I gave him a glare of annoyance.

"If ever I'm available, can I ask for a favor?" I turned to face uncle Boris again and asked.

"Sure, what is it?" He questioned.

"Can I bring my boyfriend with us?" I asked, referring to Jeon Jungkook. I wouldn't want to go to a place where my ex and I used to hangout at, so I thought of bringing my bestfriend, who was playing as my fake boyfriend.

"Of course you can." Uncle Boris chuckled lightly, and ruffled my hair once again.

"Uncle Boris," Jimin called out to him. "Can I bring my girlfriend, too?" He asked, his eyes then shifted to me, observing what my reaction would be.

I gave him a deadpan expression.

Uncle Boris broke into laughter. "You guys really are grown ups now. Alright, alright. You can bring your partners with you," He said. "By the way, Y/N, will you be busy for tomorrow? Because I would prefer it to happen soon,"

"Uh..." I halted shortly before speaking again. "No, not really," I said. There was no point in lying anymore, whether I say I wasn't available, he would still reschedule everything.

"Then pack your things now. We're leaving tomorrow," He said.

"Tomorrow?!" Jimin and I exclaimed in sync, then we both looked at each other, exchanging 'are-you-copying-me' look.

Jimin looked away first and asked, "What about the ticket?"

"Just leave it to me, kids." Uncle Boris tapped his shoulder as a signal to rely on him.

After our short meeting, I immediately scurried off to my room to text Jungkook.

Me: Jungkook, pack your things up. We're going to my uncle's Villa tomorrow. Don't worry about the tickets, Boris got em.

Daddy J: What? That's so sudden.

Me: ikr just show up, okay? I'll be very sad
if you don't come.

Daddy J: Alright. How long are we gonna stay there?

Me: idk but we usually stay there for 3-4 days so make sure you have clothes to wear within those days.

Daddy J: Yes, ma'am. By the way, thanks
for interrupting me, I wasn't able to

Me: To what? Did I interrupt something?

Daddy J: No, nevermind. I realized you didn't have to know it.
