"WHAT IS THIS stupid cup suppose to look like?" Stiles heard Scott ask as they rummaged through the lockers in the men's locker room at the school.

"It's not stupid, Scott." Stiles sighed, rolling his shoulders back, a popping noise sounded. "Because of its mysterious transformative properties, drinking from the Cup turns mundanes into Shadowhunters. However, drinking from the Cup has it's risks and does not always work. Some people could die. A lot of people could die, actually. It takes special strength and resilience to survive the process, and because of this, the mundanes must be extensively tested and evaluated before they can drink from the cup and Ascend. The Cup can also provide some protection from demons and some authority over them," he explained so that he knew how important it was to find the cup.

Silence surrounded them, almost suffocating Stiles. He clenched his jaw and went back to rummaging through the lockers.

"Hey, Stiles." The boy in question stopped his movements as Scott gently laid his hand on his arm. "I'm sorry for kicking you out of the pack." Stiles looked down. "I'm sorry for hurting you."

"Well, good, continue to feel sorry," Stiles spat at him. "Because I'm not gonna forgive you."

"Stiles..."

"No, Scott!" Stiles shouted, getting up in his face. "You're only sorry because you see that I have replaced you."

"That's not tr–"

"Of course it is!" Stiles threw up his arms in annoyance. "You've been replaced and you don't like it!" He took in deep breaths through his nose. "If I stayed here and you saw me being all depressed, you wouldn't have said anything or felt sorry for me. But since I'm actually... okay, you don't like it."

Scott stood there in silence, taking in what his former friend had said.

"It's not here, guys!" Stiles shouted, throwing down the Jersey he was holding. "When this is all over, Scott, and I leave this dreaded place, you better not follow me."

"Wait, Stiles." Scott looked down in thought before snapping his head up to look at him. "I think I know where it is."

"Where?"

"ARE YOU SURE it's here, Scott?" Izzy questioned as they rummaged through Scott's stuff in his room.

"Yeah." Scott nodded absentmindedly, digging through his closet. "Uh-huh!" He cheered, turning around to face the group, allowing them to see what was in his hands; a box. Stiles' box, to be exact. It was a box full of things he had left behind at Scott's house ever since they had first met.

"Is that..." Stiles trailed off, eyeing the box as if it was an alien object.

"Yeah," Scott breathed out, setting the box on his computer desk. Almost immediately, he was digging through it. "Where is it?" He mumbled to himself before pulling out a small box with a rune on it. "You left this box here the time you came back from your aun– mom's." He lowered the box into Stiles' hands.

Stiles let how is shaky breath before pilling the lid off, revealing the old stack of cards that they used to play with all the time. He always used to believe that with those cards, he would be able to tell people's futures.

Stiles took out the deck and started flipping through it before landing on the card he wanted.

"The Mortal Cup," Simon breathed out in awe as they all stared at the card in my hand. "Wait."

"Yeah?" Stiles questioned, looking at him.

"How are we suppose to get it out of the card?"

"I..." Stiles trailed off, furrowing his eyebrows as they turned their attention back onto the card. "I don't know."
