Y/N and Jungkook have been friends since childhood.

The two were rarely separated from each other but Jungkook started to change when they entered high school. He has started hanging out with Y/N less each day, always by his other six guy friends' side instead. Not to mention, he has become ripped as fu- I mean, taller.

The distance has been painful to Y/N, but what can she do except get used to it when he has started acting like she's 134340, like she's invisible. She couldn't mope around all day because of his douchebaggery. 'Screw him', she would think.

All was well until he started getting jealous of a boy who was getting closer to Y/N and nearly jumped him one day, ending up dragging her to her house to 'talk' about his behavior.

"A what?!"

Y/N gapes at her childhood friend as he explains something about being half-animal to her. Werewolf, to be exact.

"I've been avoiding you because I could put you in danger," Jungkook explains meekly, drawing shapes on his thighs. "You're... such an important person to me, you can't imagine..."

Y/N seems to let his words fly over her ears, focusing on the animal part. "A werewolf? Like, in twilight? Jacob?"

Jungkook shoots her the nastiest glare ever. "The heck? Twilight? Really, Y/N?"

"So, you're waiting for your female friend or crush to fall in love with a vampire, and give birth to your future wife?"

Jungkook settles his gaze on a wall behind her. "I can't believe I've been glued to you for many years... All the times I spent simping like an idiot..."

Y/N cackles, slapping his shoulder. "I'm just kidding! You being a werewolf is not a good reason for you to break off our friendship though. To be honest, I'm really disappointed."

Jungkook sighs, ducking his head in guilt. "I'm sorry. It's not something to be taken lightly... Like, I'm in heat right now and I'm acting irrationally around you."

"Why?"

The werewolf boy licks his lips. "Because... you're... well, m-my mate."

"Mate?" Y/N tilts her head. "Like, you wot mate? You're British?"

Jungkook narrows his eyes. "I'm crossing you out of my simp list."

"Sorry, sorry," she chuckles, shaking her hands. "Well, werewolves can reject their mates, right? Why don't you just reject me? You're an alpha, too."

"And why would I do that?" He looks at her, pained slightly.

"Sorry, but I'm not a furry."

Thus, after long hours of heartfelt discussion, Jungkook has rejected Y/N as his mate, respecting her decision to stay friends. Years after, he found a wonderful werewolf to become his Luna who could take care of his pack while Y/N finds her own happiness in the human world.

Jungkook protects Y/N along with his pack and Y/N spends her free time tending to the pack members. They sometimes visit each other in between their busy life to talk about their days as old friends. Just like old times.
