Are You Ready?
Have you ever pushed someone away? Someone who may have loved you but whom you couldn't let get too close?
Sure, it's wonderful to know that the person you love feels the same way. But with that love comes the expectation of closeness, and that can be terrifying...
Sometimes, we're scared to let our walls come down and let someone in. What if they judge us? What if we're not good enough? What if we disappoint them or lose them forever? What if they see us as we see ourselves?
Do these doubts echo within you? Are you letting fear overshadow your own feelings, risking your happiness in the process? Or do you find it hard to believe that good things could really happen to you?
I'm scared too. I fear letting someone into my world because if I give them the power to change it, they also have the power to destroy it. And I don't know if I can handle that.
Does this make sense to you?
Sometimes, it's okay to feel. Sometimes, it's okay to lower your defenses and just let things unfold. But how do we know when it's safe? How can we be certain that someone won't hurt us or judge us, or that they won't become the very person who could shatter us?
So, is it easier to push away those we love? But is it really safer to protect ourselves from love rather than embrace it?
I have so many questions and so few answers. I don't know if I'll ever find all the answers, but one thing I do know is this: no matter how much we try to shield ourselves, we'll end up hurting anyway...
That's life. Here's my perspective: if you find someone with whom you can truly be yourself, allow yourself to feel. Allow yourself to be loved. Take risks...
Maybe those risks will bring you happiness. If you don't try, you'll never know. And it's better to live with regrets that teach you something than to live a life full of "what ifs."
Take one step at a time. But first, learn to love yourself. Until you do, you'll struggle to love others fully. You might be there for them, but in your darkest moments, you could hurt them more than you can imagine. They will wish you loved yourself as much as they love you...
Your story will be filled with both good and bad memories, but it will be your story. Every moment will guide you to where you're meant to be. And when it comes to happy endings?
Are you ready to say "I love you"?
