THE PHONE RANG in Castiel's ear, but no one was on the other side. Finally, after it rang several times, Dean answered. "Dean, where are you?... Is Sam with you?... You can't get ahold of him either?... I think something happened. He called me, but there was no one there when I answered... Where is that at?... I'll meet you there."
He hung up the phone, and soared into the air. Seconds passed before he landed at a small diner. It was oddly busy for four o' clock in the morning on a Saturday. He stood in the small gravel parking lot waiting for Dean to arrive, and glanced around hoping to find Jack, but he didn't.
Staring up into the dark, starry sky above, he listened to the angels hoping one of them might've picked up a lead on Jack. Unfortunately, there was no mention of the Nephilim. Nothing other than the constant talk of needing to destroy Lucifer's unholy offspring.
Looking to the ground, he softly prayed, "Jack, I don't know if you can hear me, but... we need you to tell us where you are. Did Makiel take you? Are you hurt? You need to give me some kind of sign so I can find you."
"Castiel?"
Castiel jerked himself around to find Jack standing behind him with a look of relief in his eyes. "Jack!"
*****
Jack pushed himself upright as Castiel's voice rang in his head. "Jack," Castiel! He was alive? Makiel didn't kill him? "I don't know if you can hear me, but... we need you to tell us where you are."
Tell Castiel where he was? Why would he do that? So Dean could finally kill him like he's wanted to since day one?
"Did Makiel take you?" Castiel's voice continued. "Are you hurt?"
Jack's heart began to thump against his chest. Castiel thought he had been taken prisoner by Makiel? He supposed it made sense since he was missing, and Castiel was alive, but did this mean that Sam and Dean weren't going to be angry with him? Or would they still be when he told them what he had done to Makiel?
Castiel's voice rang in Jack's ears once more. "You need to give me some kind of sign so I can find you."
Jack lowered his head. He knew he didn't have a choice. He had to go back to them. He couldn't run away. Running away wasn't the answer. Not after everything they'd done for him, and he couldn't run away from his true father.
Spreading his invisible wings, he flew towards Castiel's voice. When his mind found his father, he landed behind him in the parking lot of the diner Sam and Dean had gotten dinner from that night.
"Castiel?" He could barely believe the words that escaped his lips as he stared at the black hair on the back of the angels head.
Castiel swiftly swung around. "Jack!"
Jack stepped towards Castiel. "You're alive?" He wrapped his hands around Castiel's shoulders.
"Jack, what happened to you?" Castiel gently pushed Jack away and gripped his shoulders as he stared into Jack's eyes. "We thought Makiel had kidnapped you."
Jack opened his mouth to answer, but right before he could, the impala pulled into the parking lot. Its headlights shone on Jack and Castiel as Dean sprang from the car.
"Jack?" Dean jogged up beside them. "What happened?"
Jack glanced between the concerned looks in his family's eyes. He sighed as he lowered his head. "I'm sorry. I ran away."
"You what?" Castiel asked.
Jack returned his gaze. "I killed Makiel," he stated, softly.
Dean pointed at him. "You mean, you killed him or uncontrollable you killed him?"
Jack swallowed as his throat threatened to close. "I killed him." He shook his head. "But I didn't mean to..." He paused. "Well, I did, but I let my anger control me. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have—"
He was cut off when Dean unexpectedly pulled him into an embrace, wrapping his arms around Jack's shoulders. "I'm just glad to see you safe, kid," he said.
"Finding Jack fixes one problem," Castiel said from behind Dean, "but we're still missing Sam."
Jack pushed away from Dean and glanced between the two men as panic overcame him. "Sam's missing?"
Dean placed a hand on Jack's back and shoved him towards the impala. "Get in the car. We're going to find him."
Jack opened the door to the back seat and slid in as Castiel and Dean took the front two.
Dean backed out of the parking lot and made his way down the street. "Keep an eye out. The tracker on Sam's phone puts him a couple miles ahead close to the motel."
Jack gazed out the window, anxiety washing over him at the thought of Sam missing. Who would've taken him? Someone who wanted to get back at Jack for killing Makiel?
Staring at the buildings on his left, they suddenly began to sway back in forth. He sat back in his seat and clenched his eyes shut, placing a hand on his head as it began to ache.
"Jack, are you alright?"
Jack looked up to notice Castiel's head twisted his way, only Jack could barely see him. He blinked his eyes several times trying to chase away the blurriness.
He winced, once more placing a hand on his head as it felt like someone was hammering away at his skull. What was happening to him? "I... don't know," he softly replied, his lips feeling numb. He felt his body fall limp as he slid down the leather seats onto his side and his vision blackened.

Jack's eyes slowly fluttered open, and he could barely see as a bright light hung above his head. He tried raising a hand to shield his eyes, but found that his arms wouldn't move. Fear gripped his heart as he found that he couldn't move at all. He felt his body slanted back as he laid against what felt like a table.
"Well, someone's finally awake."
Jack turned his gaze to the right as a shadowy figure stalked towards him. Stepping into the light, Jack gasped at the sight of Benjamin Silvers towering over him.
"What's going on?" Jack asked. He once again pulled on his arms trying to get them to move. "What are you doing to me?"
"I wouldn't bother," Benjamin said. "Those cuffs are marked with Nephilim symbols. Even you can't break out of those."
Jack's heart raced rapidly at Benjamin's words. He knew? "How did you know what I am?"
Benjamin laughed. "I've known all about angels for a very long time—done a lot of business with them. So, I think I'd know when one of them waltz's right into my tournament."
Jack watched as Benjamin pulled up a tray on wheels. He reached over and raised a syringe in the air. Staring at the needle, he gave the bottom a little push and a small amount of liquid came out.
Jack tried once more to pull on his restraints, his blood thumping louder in his ears as Benjamin placed the needle of the syringe on Jack's neck. "No!" he shouted. "My brothers will kill you once they find out what you've done to me!"
Benjamin shrugged. "And what are they going to find?" He chuckled. "I'm not going to kill you... yet. I need you, Jack. I have big plans for you."
Jack winced as Benjamin jabbed the needle into his neck. Feeling something cold enter his bloodstream, he felt his head grow heavy as his eye lids slowly closed.
Images flashed by in seconds. Jack stood over Cole outside one of the locker rooms after a Kitora game. With his hand outstretched, he watched as Cole collapsed to the ground with a hand grasping at his chest.
Another image changed scenes, and he was in an alleyway burning the Nephilim symbol into Cole's wrists.
Midst surrounded him and he found himself back in the same room he had been in only seconds ago, only this time, he wasn't strapped.
"Very good, Jack!" Benjamin exclaimed. "With you as my personal weapon, I'll be unstoppable!"
Jack watched as Benjamin injected something else inside Jack's body, and the next thing he knew, he was standing outside the stadium of Kitora waiting on Sam to pick him up.

Springing upward in his seat, Jack gasped for air.
"Jack, are you okay?"
Jack looked forward to find Dean hovering over him, his feet planted on the black pavement of the road. Jack raised a hand to his chest as he felt his heart pound and nodded. "I'm okay."
Dean sighed in relief. He pulled himself out of the car, and Jack slid out after him. "What was that? You did the same thing as at the motel. You were... glowing and shaking."
"His body's been compromised," Castiel said from the hood of the car.
"What?" Dean asked.
"No, he's right." Jack lowered his hand. "I think I just unlocked more memories. Memories of Benjamin Silvers injecting something into my body. That's why I was killing other players."
Jack watched as Castiel stepped over towards a brick building. Dean must've watched him advert his gaze because he, too, turned to watch Castiel.
Castiel bent down and picked up a phone that rested on the concrete. Turning it around to show Jack and Dean, he said, "It's Sam's."
"And I know where to find him." Jack slipped back into the car and shut the door.
