3rd person
Scarlett woke up on the floor of a hospital room and walked out silently looking around. She saw the team huddled in the corner crying together.
"What happened?" She asked. There was no reply. Scarlett spun around to see her body being covered up with a white sheet.
"I'm not dead guys." She said trying to reach out to them.
"Guys I'm right here!" Scarlett screamed, "Say something!!!!"
"They can't hear you sweetheart." A voice said coming from behind the young girl.
"Mommy?" She asked running into her mothers arms.
"I'm here princess and I'm never leaving you again." Mary whispered to her little girl, "Sorry it took so long."
"I don't care as long as I have you." Scarlett said not wanting to let go.
"How are you here? How am I here?" She asked after they let go of each other.
"You're transitioning, you are seeing everything as it happens. I'm only here to help you, the visions will fade in a week and you'll be home with me." Mary said softly touching Scarlett's face.
Scarlett pov
So that's where I am now, sitting at my own funeral waiting to go home. I hate seeing everybody so upset about me. Watching everybody cry just makes me realize how much I don't want to go just yet.
Wally steps up on the podium to give a speech I listen intently.
"Her name was Scarlett Mary West.
She was kind, brave, strong, and the best kid I've ever known. I will never forget her laugh or her smile. Or the way she would be there in an instant if anyone needed anything. She was humble and no matter what she ever told you, she was the farthest thing from broken. She was a victim and a hero. Scarlett was the Messenger always running around. It's time for the little road runner to take a break, all of her messages have been delivered. She was worth everything to me. It's time for the fastest girl alive to stop running. I didn't want to lose her this way but I guess she always saw it coming. I was the older brother, I was meant to be her protector, I should've been the one being buried today. I'm sorry." Wally said as he cried Barry stood up next to him. He took his nephew in his arms and comforted him. It wasn't long until Iris joined in. I looked at my mom who seemed to understand the sad look in my eyes.
"I understand if you need to stay." She whispered in my ear.
"I'm not ready to leave them yet." I told her.
"Then you better start heading home." She whispered.
"How?" I asked.
"Well you're the fastest girl alive, so run." Mom whispered. I gave her one last hug and started running as fast as I could down the street until I came to uncle Barry and aunt Iris's house. I stopped in the living room because I could feel my heart beat again. I didn't feel like I was floating anymore. I felt like I was alive again, but there was another feeling too, freedom. I felt free. I heard the door knob twist and I quickly changed straightening out the dress I chose, it was Wally's favorite of mine.
Wally pov
I gave my speech and sat down on one of the chairs Artemis put a supportive hand on mine.
"It'll all be okay Wallman." She whispered. I kissed her.
"I hope your right." I said as we hugged. We buried my sister and then headed for home. None of us wanted to eat anything. Barry and Iris went ahead and Artemis and I caught up. Artemis had to go so I kissed her goodbye and followed my aunt and uncle to my new home. Barry was the one to open the door.
Scarlett pov
I looked down at my dress. Was it to much? I didn't want to scare them to much. Barry opened the door and stopped dead in his tracks when he saw me. I gave a smile.
"Miss me?" I asked. Barry wrapped his arms around me lifting me off the ground in the process and spinning me around.
"Without a doubt." He whispered in my ear. We both cried and before I know it Iris and Wally were in on the hug too.
My name is Scarlett Mary West and I need to say something I've been waiting to say since the day I buried my mother,
I am finally home.
