Scarlett pov
I guess everybody had to find out at some point. I just wish that we had told them instead of them finding out on their own. It went like this.
Three weeks earlier
It was the day after Robin and Wally's video chat. Robin had gotten curious and pulled Wally aside to talk about it. When I asked Wally what he said he explained that he just told him that dad and I got in a fight and he went to break it up. That was mostly true so I didn't say anything to him. I didn't even really think about it again until Robin talked to me about.
"Hey so what was your dad so mad about?" He asked while we were playing a video game.
"Just grades and stuff." I replied simply.
"Why'd Wally have to break it up?" Robin asked.
"He's the mediator of the family." I answered.
"Ok." Robin said dropping the subject as I started to get annoyed at the interview.
A week ago
I was doing homework on my bed like I have been doing for the last few weeks. Wally was on he floor trying to fix my chair. I still don't know how it happened but I had my laptop on my desk. The screen was covered and I had the sound turned off. One of us must have bumped it because it video called the cave and we had no idea.
3rd person
The video call came through to the cave where the rest of the team was still hanging out. Robin snickered when he saw that they had no idea that they called. Robin put it up on the screen and everybody watched for fun. Justice was sitting next to her brother.
Wally threw his hands up in triumph.
"I fixed it!" He yelled. Scarlett got off the bed and gave it a light kick. The chair fell apart again.
"Yeah you totally fixed it." She said sarcastically. Scarlett glanced at the clock nervously. The door slammed and she slid under her bed. Wally went into the closet after locking the door. There was sudden banging and yelling.
"Open the door brats!" Rudy screamed through the door. No reply. He started banging harder until he actually broke down Scarlett's door. The drunken man stepped inside the room as the whole team watched with horror. Scarlett was hugging the floor and watching his footsteps. He pulled her out from under the bed and threw against the wall. Robin covered Justices eyes as M'gann and Connor kept a close eye on the situation and Kaldur and Artemis got ready to head straight to there house. The kicks kept coming and so did the tears. Wally got out of the closet trying to hold him back from his baby sister but all attempts were futile.
"Useless girl!" He told her.
"Daddy! Daddy please stop!" Scarlett cried getting louder every time. Rudy kept screaming insults as he beat her to a pulp.
Robin called Flash and he left immediately. The cuts on Scarlett started multiplying and suddenly she felt a piece of glass go through her side. Wally had hit his head so hard from being knocked back that he had fallen unconscious. Scarlett laid on the floor as tears burned her cuts and she started bleeding out. It all happened so fast, it was all to much. Barry rushed in knocking Rudy off of his daughter who now looked almost lifeless. Scarlett stared at the ceiling hardly able to breath.
"I got you, I got you." Barry whispered as he picked up the sweet little girl and wrapped her in his arms. After making sure that Wally was okay and Rudy was knocked out cold. Barry ran Scarlett to the zeta beams and went to the watchtower. He got her in the infirmary and gave a quick explanation. They took Scarlett from Barry's arms. They went into surgery right away and he finally let the tears out. It suddenly hit him that she might not make it and those sad tears turned to anger. He gritted his teeth and ran to the interrogation room where Superman had put him. Barry walked in and slammed Rudy against the wall.
"Do you even care that you might have just killed your own daughter?" He asked through his angry tears.
"That little piece of trash isn't my daughter, I never wanted kids in the first place." Rudy spat. This was enough to make Barry snap he threw him across the interrogation room and started throwing punches. Superman and Wonder Woman came in and held him back.
"We aren't going to let you do something You're going to regret Flash." Wonder Woman said.
"How could I possibly regret this? He hurt two of the most important people in my life, could've killed them!" Barry shouted.
"Barry, he did kill Messenger. She flatlined during surgery we came to let you know." Superman said. Barry's anger turned into shock, which turned into grief. He fell on the floor sobbing uncontrollably. Wally sat outside the infirmary with the team they were all holding each other close. No one could stop crying. Even Connor. There little speedster was gone and they couldn't do anything to bring her back.
