Chapter 1: The Bordem Begins

I drummed my fingers on the table, sadly having nothing to do. I needed to do something. Anything. Give me a bone to fetch, make me go chase speeders, or make me go on the edge of the Galaxy or something!

I absolutely positively hate days like this. Where you have nothing to do, just because your Jedi Master says you aren't needed on the battle field.

I loved being on the battle field. I wanted to stand side by side, with my former Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. But no, Master Yoda insisted that I should stay home, for three days, and not fight. How could I not, in the middle of war like this? Well, I'm not doing anything, so I guess not.

C-3PO and I tried to play Poker today, but I beat him every single time, and he eventually got tired of losing, and gave up.

I tried watching news today, but Padmè and Palpatine kept debating about sending Republic troops to their planet or not.

It was interesting, for a little while. I got to see Padmè, and that was about it. I saw her talk to Palpatine, about him being so controlling, acting more like a dictator than a Chancellor.

Eventually, things got boring, and I turned it off, and now, well, I'm not doing anything.

Suddenly, my stomach rumbled, telling me that I needed food. I groaned, and stomped over to the kitchen.

Opening the fridge, I saw only a few things, bananas, left over tomato soup, and mac-and-cheese from two days ago, that were poorly wrapped. You think you know an astro droid can wrap up things, I thought to myself, think about R2.

I grabbed the bowls, and threw them out, seeing some white mold on the top.

Having nothing else to eat, I grabbed a banana, peeled it, and started chomping.

After I was done with my banana, I layed down on the couch, and faced up to the ceiling.

I closed my eyes, and went to sleep.

It was night time in Coruscant. The lights were glowing, which seemed the illuminate the night sky. I was standing there with my blue lightsaber in hand, and my mechanical hand, without its glove.

Or at least I thought it was me. The figure turned around, revealing blue eyes, blond shaggy hair, and the lightsaber looked exactly like mine. The kid had this... Strange spirit coming off of him like it was supposed to be familiar to me. But I've never seen the kid before.

He sheathed his lightsaber, and ran up to a girl, who I suspected was his girlfriend. She had hair that looked like cinnamon buns, and a white dress, and a gun at her side. She looked a lot like Padmè... And the boy looked a lot like me...

I woke up from my dream, feeling someone's breath hanging over me. The bright light made my vision go a little dark, then it returned to normal. Yet, Padmè was standing above me.

"You okay, Anakin?" Padmè asked, tilting her head.

I nodded. "Sure, sure. All things well. "

"I heard you were bored. 3PO called, and said that you seemed bored. So, I came," Padmè replied softly.

She sat down on the couch with me, and leaned her head against my shoulder.

I sighed. "Any news? "

She sat up, and faced me, looking worried. "What news?"

"The Senate. Any good news about how the war can be resolved, without spending anymore troopers? " I sighed, playing with my glove over my mechanical arm.

She sighed, and started taking off her odd shaped hat. "We tried to negotiate with the Separatists, but they won't listen. They are powered by being money hungry, and greed. They will lie, cheat, and steal to get the Trade Federation on top of things again. They are making the Republic go bankrupt, taking all of our money on trades, " She said angrily, pounding her fist in the table. "We can't afford to keep feeding our people. Soon, Coruscant will become like Ryloth, without hardly any food nor water. "

I chuckled. "The Twi' Lecks are fine. If they can survive with food that will last two seasons, then we're fine. "

She rolled her eyes. Even the smallest joke about another planet would make her mad. "Ani... You know how I feel about them. I know Toydaria, has their back and everything... But... I dont know. I just feel heartbroken that they are just a farming land, and don't have much recourses as we do, " she replied, coming her fingers through her long, brown hair. I nodded, and started untangling her hair, with her brush that she used.

She laughed. "I love it when you brush my hair. "

I smiled, admiring her hair. "I know."

She stopped my hand from brushing her hair, and grabbed the brush out of my hand, and set it on the table.

"Can you braid it? I'm going to take a nap," she yawned.

I nodded, and rolled my eyes, remembering the day she taught me to braid her hair.
••••••
I fumbled with all the hair pieces, trying to remember which hair piece goes where.

"You cross them, silly! Alternate, Anakin. " Padmè had instructed. I crossed the right side over the middle, pulling the middle over to the right side.

"It's right, then middle, then middle goes to right?" I asked, still unsure.

She laughed. "Right, "

"Okay then!" I clarified, rolling my eyes.

After crossing the right side to the middle, I did the left side. I started to alternate, over and over again, until I had no idea what my fingers were doing.

Finally, I got the end of the piece, and showed Padmè the tangled, yet neat looking job I had done with her dark, beautiful hair.

She looked down at the braided piece, and bit her lip. "It's tangled. "

I groaned. "Really?! I have to redo it? "

She nodded. "Yep. Take a brush Anakin, and brush through the hair, over and over again, about fifteen times, and then braid it, " she reminded me.

"Why do I have to do this anyway? " I asked her, snatching the brush from her dainty hands.

"So you can braid my child's hair when she becomes a Padawan," she smiled, teasing me.

"You're cute," I laughed, now intertwining the pieces of hair.

"What? You don't believe me? She will be trained by you, soon to be, Master Skywalker!" She giggled, turning to face me.

"You really want to have children?" I had asked, looking down at her, finally finishing braiding her hair.

She took the braided piece, and smiled sheepishly. "Of course. I always have. I love children."

I chuckled, kissing her cheek. "It'll happen. Don't worry," I stroked her cheek, and stared into her eyes.
••••••
"Anakin! Hello! Are you finished?" She snapped in my face, trying to get my attention.

I woke up from my flashback, and looked at the braid. I nodded, yes, and finished tying her hair.

I patted her back. "I'm going to bed with you, as well." I yawned, undressing, and getting into the covers.
