"How'd —"

"Oh Poe, trust me I know."

Kylo smirked while Poe looked down to the ground.

"Kylo we came to ask you something."

"Is it Rey?"

"Yes."

"What about?"

"What happened that night?"

"It started on a cliff —"

It was dark outside and Kylo was standing with Rey by a cliff.

They were near the edge and were currently fighting. "You need a teacher." He peered to look at her. "I can help you."

"Never." She hissed her voice harsh. Rey kicked his leg knocking him down.

"Please." He whispered, his voice low enough so that she could barely here.

Rey paused. "Did you just tell me please?" Her eyes narrowed.

Kylo shook his head and lunged for her again. "No I didn't."

"I heard you Kylo."

Before Kylo could respond she knocked him to the ground. She circled around him as he struggled to get up. He hissed and pulled out his blade.

The two fought, their blades clashing roughly against each other, creating silver gray sparks in the sky. He pressed towards her and she struggled to push him away.

"My offer still stands Kenobi."

"I said no!"

"Suit yourself."

Rey fell over the edge and clutched onto the dirt.

"Help me." Her voice cracked and her eyes were pleading.

"Why should I help you? We are enemies!"

"Please."

Before Kylo could think straight he reached for her hand. Instead of pulling her up, he got dragged down.

"What the hell?!"

"If I'm going to die, you're coming with me."

"We would've both survived if you let me help you."

Rey rolled her eyes. "You're lying. There's a knife in your hand."

Kylo sighed before dropping it in the abyss below.

"Goodbye Rey."

"Goodbye Kylo."

And then they fell.

The first thing he felt was water. Bone chilling, wet, glorious water.

He splashed his hand across the surface to check that he wasn't dreaming or dead.

"Rey we are alive! Rey?"

His eyes searched frantically along the water for her.

"Kylo!" He turned swiftly around to face Rey's face breaking free from the water.

He didn't understand why but he found himself swimming towards him. His arms wrapped around her body, pulling her close.

Kylo found a flat rock slab in the water and pulled her and himself on it.

"Rey you're going to be fine. Just fine." He mumbled those words over and over again, cursing in his head. The feeling of caring was new to him.

He reached back and ripped a piece of his cloak. Kylo wrapped the fabric around her torso, covering the gash on her stomach.

"You'll be fine Rey." He muttered as her eyes closed. For a moment he saw her as someone else. Someone who wasn't his enemy. Someone who wasn't on the opposite side of this fight. He found himself leaning forward.

His lips hovered above hers for a moment.

"Get away from the girl! I repeat get away from Rey!"

He sat up abruptly and turned to face his mother. Kylo hid his face. Finn and Poe rushed forward and took Rey's body.

"Did you do this to her?"

"No I helped her."

"Thank you Ben. Are you hurt?"

"No." He lied looking down.

"Let us help you."

"W-what?"

"Let us help you heal. You're hurt."

"No I can't."

"Let us at least help you out of here."

"Okay." Kylo sighed as he was taken out of the watery abyss.

When he got to the surface he didn't say anything. All he did was nod his head in gratitude as they flew off.

"Goodbye Rey." He mumbled.

"We were fighting and she fell. I tried to help her but she pulled me down with her. We both fell into the water below. Rey injured herself and I help her."

"So you like her?"

"No." Kylo shook her head. "It just couldn't end that way." He looked away sadly.

Finn and Poe exchanged glances.

"Well you should leave now. You got your answers, now leave!"

Finn and Poe started to walk out of the room.

"Leave! You'll get caught! Get out of here!" Kylo shooed them away.

Finn and Poe made a dash for the helicopter.

"I hope she forgets this."

"What do you mean?"

"I hope Rey forgets about the incident with Kylo."

"Why would it matter?"

Poe sighed. "She has a mission from Leia once she discharges officially from the hospital."

"What is it?"

"To kill Kylo Ren."

"But that's her son!"

Poe shook his head sadly. "She didn't have much of a say in the matter. Everyone in the council voted for an assassination."
