Chapter 2

A loud groan filled the empty kitchen, along with the sizzling sound of the egg being fried. The blonde haired boy stared into the space as he recalled the story that he had just finished reading.

He let out another groan and the sound of the footsteps became louder and quicker. The door slammed open and there stood a charming man who awaited for him in the morning.

"What's wrong, Yoongi?"

Yoongi turned to look at the older man and his shoulders dropped. His lips soon formed into a pout and he began to speak.

"The book."

"Another sad ending?"

"It's horrible, Seokjin hyung. They were such a happy and fluffy couple. All of a sudden, the dude became a bastard who cheated on the girl. Like seriously?! In the end, it became a holy angst book like the twist is too much for me to handle," Yoongi exclaimed.

Seokjin raised his eyebrow. He was not really amused by his reaction. He was rather used to it since Yoongi would always end up being like this whenever he finished reading Jungah's book. And would he ever stop reading her book? Obviously, Yoongi had never once considered it.

"I can't believe the Seoul's richest heartbreaker is behaving like a little heartbroken fangirl because of his favourite author's new book."

Yoongi shot a glare at Seokjin.

Min Yoongi is a man with ethereal looks and pockets loaded with cash. His pale skin and cat like looks just makes him look soft and sharp at the same time. The moment he smirk, it's a killer. He has everything from looks to grades to money. Women of all age swoon over him. Definitely dated severals but never once did he actually engage in love. He would often leave once he lost interest in someone which earned him the title 'heartbreaker'.

However, he never really intended to hurt any of his past 'lovers'. He's trying to learn how to love through romance books and that was how Jungah's book eventually landed in his hands.

Out of all the books he had read, hers was the one that caught his attention. The way she described the characters and how they engaged in a relationship and eventually ended off. He could feel all the emotions through her beautifully written piece. But the only thing he was not satisfied was that it would always have a sad ending. It was as if the author had never experienced the beauty of love.

Not like he had but through other books he had read, he was sure that love was something two people feel when their hearts connect and stick together through thick and thin.

Instead of getting involved in a forced marriage arrangement, he wanted to experience such beautiful emotion and be willing to risk anything for the special lady, whom he had not found yet.

Yoongi scrunched his nose as he felt something burning. He then looked down and gasped. He quickly turned off the stove and grabbed a plate. He put the totally burnt egg on the plate and then glanced at Seokjin who was standing there.

"Did you just burn an egg?" Seokjin asked as he walked over to get a closer look. He made a disapproving noise, "What were you trying to cook? A charcoal egg?"

"Hyung!" Yoongi protested. Just as he was about to continue, his phone rang. He mumbled some incoherent words and fished out his phone from his pocket. He checked the caller ID and let out a sigh.

He straightened himself up and cleared his throat. He swiped his phone screen to answer the call. He placed it over his ear.

[Hello.]

[Where are you, Yoongi? You know we have an important meeting today.]

[Father, you can handle that on your own. I've completed all the designs that you asked me. Isn't that enough? I don't think-]

[Your presence is important. You are the next heir of the Mins.]

The Mins own the biggest multimedia publishing company and Yoongi is a Creative Designer there. Being the only son, he was manifestly entitled to be the person who would take over his father one day.

Yoongi couldn't make a comeback. His end went silent and his father took it as a note to continue.

[I'll need you to be present at the next meeting and I won't tolerate any excuse. Also, you have another project to work on which will be sent to your email next morning. That is all I have to say. Goodbye, son. I'll see you at home.]

His father hung up and Yoongi brought his phone down. He stared at his phone screen and clicked his tongue.

"I hate that old man!" Yoongi growled lowly as his thumbs started dancing over the phone screen.

"So, you are not going home again?"

Yoongi's lips curved into a smirk as he received a message that he was waiting for.

"Yup, I'm not. I'll be going to party all night tonight."

"He's still your father, Yoongi. There's only two of you in the family."

"Uh no. Correction. He's got that gold digger to worry for him."

"You shouldn't call Ms Chaerin a gold digger. She's just romantically attached with your father."

Yoongi rolled his eyes.

"Seriously, hyung. That woman is about the same age as me. She's just looking for some sugar daddy and my father just happened to be one."

"Anyways," Yoongi changed the subject, "You are coming with me, hyung."

"And why would I? I have to serve my customers who are literally lining up for my food."

"Because you are my one and only friend," Yoongi reached out to hold Seokjin's hands and looked at him with pleading eyes.

Seokjin had a disgusted look on his face.

"Are you trying to convince me using those innocent eyes? Nope. Not working," he shook his head.

Yoongi let go of his hands and decided to use his other method. He took out his black credit card which drew Seokjin's attention.

"I'll pay you for the day."

"Deal," Seokjin agreed without even a slight hesitation which hurt Yoongi.

"Such a good friend," Yoongi mumbled annoyingly.

"Money doesn't grow on trees, my friend. Besides I'm not as rich as you," Seokjin spoke as he left the kitchen to get changed.

"Money doesn't grow on trees," Yoongi mimicked Seokjin as he followed his hyung behind.

The entire house was dark, cold and empty. Jungah tapped on the side of the wall to switch on the lights. She took off her shoes and walked inside. Her phone vibrated so she checked it. It notified her that she had received a message from her brother.

Kookie 🐰
Noona, I'm staying over at Jimin-hyung's house tonight!

Jungah took in a deep breath and sighed heavily as she typed back to reply to him.

Me
Alright. Take care of yourself and don't stay up too late.

Once she was done texting, she dumped her things onto the table and went to take a shower. She needed that cold water splashing all over her body harshly to let out all the stress and emotions. She did feel a bit better afterwards. Just a bit.

She plopped herself down after drying herself and changing into her comfy nightwear. Her phone vibrated again but this time it was a phone call. She reached for her phone and immediately answered it.

[So, how was it?]

Hoseok's voice boomed from the other end of the phone. Jungah recalled the tarot session and shook her head in disappointment.

[Worst luck.]

She expected it but it just didn't sit right. She felt like she had absolutely no hope in searching for the mr right guy and that such a guy doesn't exist.

[Wow. It really is true then. But did he say anything else? Like a helping charm or something?]

Jungah hummed as she thought of it and Taehyung's words once again replayed in her head.

[He did say a devil would help me. But like seriously though. Out of everything in the world, a devil. Can it get worse?]

[Awww don't be too discouraged. At least there's some hope! Also, it could be a hot devil. Who knows?]

Jungah giggled upon hearing his words. Hoseok just knew how to make her feel better.

[Great to hear you laughing. Anyways, what are you doing?]

[Nothing... not in the mood. Jungkook's not home. So, I'm probably going to write something?]

She heard Hoseok squeaked.

[No no! You will end up writing some really really sad story and I'll have to cry again. I'm running out of tissues already!]

She laughed out loudly at his reaction. She could imagine Hoseok pouting.

[It's not that bad.]

[Stop lying to yourself. This won't do. I can't let you cope up in that house of yours alone. So, get ready.]

[For what?]

[Some fun.]

Jungah wondered what he meant by that. And maybe the future that awaited for her might not be what she expected.
