Chapter 1
Jeon Jungah, a 25 year old best selling romance author, once again stood in front of her boyfriend. She knew where this was going due to the tension that was rising in the atmosphere. And like she expected, three words came out from his mouth.
"Let's break up."

Jungah groaned as she slammed her head on the table. She got dumped again; early in the morning to add to that. 'A great way to start the morning,' she rolled her eyes. Just when she thought this was finally the one, the ending turned out to be a disaster. As usual.
She lifted her head and glanced at the laptop screen that was filled with words for her new book. Ideas just kept flowing in and she could already see how it would end. Just like her, an angst.
"What's wrong, Jungah?"
She looked at the side and squinted her eyes as a bright sunshine stood before her.
Jung Hoseok, a fellow editor and best friend since childhood, had a bright and handsome appearance as always. She sometimes wonder how a person could have such a beautiful smile.
"I got dumped again," she mumbled but loud enough for her friend to hear.
"You what?! But I really thought this one liked you a lot."
"Yeah. I thought so too but he found another girl," she sighed, "Maybe I'm just really bad at love or something."
Hoseok studied his poor friend who was always out of luck when it comes to love. It's not like she's bad looking or something but her love story was always a tragedy like her stories that he had to go through every single night and feel miserable the next day.
He still hadn't gotten over the one that was just published in the morning. Goosebumps were still creeping over his skin as the plot was stuck in his head.
"I guess this new book will have a sad ending too?" He questioned and received a nod in return.
"I can't write a happy one without ever experiencing it," she spoke as her fingers started dancing across the keyboard and her eyes fixed on the screen.
Hoseok thought of it for a while and an idea popped up in his head. He turned to Jungah with excitement which was visible in his face.
"Maybe you are just having a bad luck in romance. How about going to a fortune teller? Maybe that person could help you," he suggested.
Jungah stopped typing and pushed the glass frame up her nose.
"Fortune teller?" she finally turned to him.
Hoseok nodded eagerly and took out his phone from his pocket. His hands quickly moved across the phone screen and he flipped the phone so that the screen was facing her.
"I heard this one is really good. It's tarot reading and many people recommend it."
Jungah hummed as she observed the page. She leaned back against her chair and looked at Hoseok.
"Do you think it's a good idea?"
"Well, you could at least try. Maybe get an answer as to why your love is like that."

There was a long queue at a bookstore in the center of the city. People of all age, waiting to purchase Jungah's new book after it was announced to be released today. Her books would often get sold out on the very first day and it would take another week for preorder.
A young man drove his motorbike past the bookstores with people impatiently waiting for their turns. Even if his helmet was covering the entire face, people could still recognise him and heads would turn to him. Girls screamed excitedly as they fished their phones out to capture a photo of him but the young man just continued his journey without paying attention to the people staring at him.
He arrived at a fine dining restaurant that hadn't open yet. He parked his bike at the side, locked it securely and took of his helmet. He shook his head, causing his blonde hair to move about. He placed the helmet on the handle and ruffled his hair to set it. He twirled the key in his finger as he walked towards the entrance.
He hummed a tune as he entered the restaurant where an older male with black hair and face of an actor waited for him. The other did not say anything and just pointed at the book on the table where his eyes travelled to.
A huge grin spread on his face as he rushed to pick the book up. It was the new book Jungah had published. He sat down and took a while to read it. He wouldn't bother to start working without completing the book and so his mind had completely drifted off to the world that Jungah was about to bring him through the words that she had written.

Seoul city looked the best at night. The scenery is amazing and fun only begins then.
Jungah walked down the street and checked the location once in a while to make sure she was at the correct place. She soon saw a signboard which indicated a fortune telling service.
Without much consideration, she walked into the place. A couple walked out of the room, probably after having their fortune told. Since there was no one else queuing before her; it was her turn.
She knocked on the door and entered once she received permission.
Inside, a young silver haired boy who seemed slightly older than her brother was seated on the carpet with cards sprawled on the table. Jungah took a quick scan around the room before putting her handbag down as she sat on the floor. She was quite surprised to find a male fortune teller.
"What brought you here, young lady?"
She raised her eyebrow, "I believe I would be older than you."
The other let out a chuckle, "Am I?"
Jungah blinked her eyes a couple times as she was too caught up in the moment. She didn't know why she actually felt that he was stating a fact. She snapped out when the other bursted out laughing.
"I was just kidding. Anyways, what brought you here?"
She felt awkward having her fortune told by someone, let alone a guy. She nervously scratched the tip of her nose as she contemplated to confess.
"Is this your first time having your fortune told by a guy?"
"Actually, it's the first time I'm getting my fortune told by anyone."
"So, I'm the first then! I'm honoured."
"I don't really think it's a big thing... umm," she didn't know how she should call the other. A 'sir' would be too formal.
"Taehyung," he answered as if he knew what was on her mind. "You can address me as Taehyung," he smiled.
Knowing his name did make her closer to him and seeing how he made sure she did feel comfortable, she decided that it wouldn't hurt to get her fortune told by him. After all, she had already arrived at the place.
"Well Taehyung, I want to know about my love life."
"I see."
The fortune teller stacked the cards together and shuffled them. He then spread them on the table again.
"Pick three cards you desire using your left hand."
Jungah nodded and selected three cards. After she was done, Taehyung stacked the rest of the cards and kept it at the side.
The boy then flipped the cards and made a bit of disapproving noise. Jungah swallowed her saliva thickly as she stared at the cards that she had picked. Somehow, she got a feeling that they were pretty bad indications.
The first card was pointed and he spoke, "Ten of swords. Your relationships were always painful, dramatic and unexpected ending. Betrayals and such."
Jungah nodded in agreement as her partners would often breakup with her on a bad term. It would be either due to a fight or because the other cheated. No matter what, the event was always depressing and painful.
Then, they moved onto the next card.
"The Tower. Whenever you felt like you are in a safe and comfortable relationship, something would occur which turned it upside-down."
Jungah couldn't help but nod her head again. A problem would happen out of no where which would lead to a broken bond.
Finally, the last card.
"Death."
Just hearing the word sent chills down her spine. She gulped as she continued to listen.
"It is not necessarily a bad card. Have you had a breakup recently?"
"Yes, I have," Jungah answered. 'Just this morning,' she didn't add that though.
"Every endings lead to new beginnings. This meant that it's time for you to move on from your past loves. You will be meeting your soulmate soon. However, having three bad cards in a row does mean that you have really bad luck in romance. Your relationships tend to not last long."
Jungah mouthed an 'oh' and stared at the three cards that laid on the table. She expected such a conclusion.
"Is there anything I can do?"
The person contemplated for a while and nodded his head. He collected back the three cards and stacked them with the rest of the deck. He then shuffled the cards and placed it on the table.
"Using your left hand, divide the card into half. Place the other half of the deck on your left."
Jungah did exactly that and the other took the card on top of the right deck. He studied the card and glanced at Jungah who nervously fidgeted in her seat.
Taehyung put the card down for Jungah to see and it was the Devil card.
"A devil is on your side and he will help you move on as well as escape from your cycle of bad romance."
