Matthew's POV

After I got off the bus, I rushed to math. Miss Matson sat at her desk grading the tests from yesterday. I walked to my desk in the back of the classroom and got out my morning work. We were doing review on integers. Everyone in my class went to own seats. Then Miss Matson stood up and said, "Class we have a new student joining us. Everyone this is Astrid Holt"

A girl came into the classroom, the same girl from the bus this morning. I slightly waved at her and of course Bella had to see me. She glared at me and mouthed "You know her?"

I nodded my head reluctantly, knowing that at lunch Bella was going to yell at me. Then I noticed that the only empty seat was right next to me. I think I blushed because I felt my face heat up.

Astrid introduced herself and sat down at her desk. My next few classes went on as usual. Then lunch came along, as I expected Bella started yelling at me. I got my lunch and started going to my normal seat. Then I decided to sit alone today. I went to the table in the back. She was there, Bella was yelling at Astrid.

" You stay away from my man" Bella screamed, "and if you don't I'm going to make you wish you never came to Northview!"

"I-I'm s-sorry" Astrid sobbed.

"That's no excuse you-" her eyes widened when she saw me. "Oh hey Matthew."

Astrid was still sobbing and collapsed to the ground. That was it, I ran over to her.

"It's going to be okay" I told her.

Astrid looked up at me. "O-Okay"

Bella looked at me shocked. I glared right back at her.

"Bella, It's over" I told her in a stern tone.

"You can't do that!" she exclaimed

"Yes I can"

I helped Astrid up and brought her to the table I was sitting at.

"Don't worry about Bella, she gets very possessive"

"You didn't have to do that" Astrid told me. "You should have left her to yell at me"

"I'm not like that. I hate bullying"

" Well um... thanks"

"No problem"

She smiled at me. It seemed forced though. I ignored that and frowned when I saw a boy with light brown hair come up to Astrid.

"Astrid there you are!" he exclaimed "Where were you?"

"Cal, I'm fine" Astrid replied looking irritated. "Sorry about him Matthew. Matthew, this is my brother Cal. Cal, this is Matthew"

Cal looked at me suspiciously, than he turned back to Astrid.

A/N Hey guys! This chapter was a pain because I had to read off my notebook than copy it. Well no matter, I still had fun writing it. Hope you liked it.
