𝖂hen most people thought of words to describe Aurora Trueman, they would say 'talented' or 'up and comer' or 'next big thing' or something like that. Each headline had it's own adjective and way of describing her, whether they be good or bad but all settled on one thing unanimously.

She had the voice of an angel, or as close to one as there ever could be.

Whether that was an insult or a compliment, no one was quite sure but it was true. Whenever Aurora Trueman opened her mouth and sang, you could barely focus on anything else but the feel of her music, the way the lyrics changed and washed over you like a blanket in the cold or water in the heat and when you saw her on stage? There was no comparison. Despite her limited set list, when she was invited to perform her songs, it was like watching a siren at work, captivating everyone around her.

She would only laugh and brush people off, remind them that the idea of it all was a bit silly and that she had just been lucky and blessed with a good voice.

When people tried to pry further, in interviews and on talk shows, as to why Aurora Trueman had a voice that flowed like sunlight through a forest, she was quick to make a joke and move the conversation in a different direction. Aurora Trueman was a mystery and a mystery she would remain for as long as possible.

Paparazzi and other celebrity gossip forums had tried to find her parents, to track down where they were or who she had gone to school with but it was like she had appeared three years earlier on a children's TV show and that was where she began. It was like she was formed with the specific purpose of being a singer and that was how Aurora Trueman preferred it all.

She liked being a mystery, being impossible to read or to get a hold of. It was her favourite thing to be.

"Five minutes!" There was a call through the halls as Aurora looked back into the mirror for the final time. Her makeup was done as her mother taught her, her hair slightly curled and her purple dress didn't have any makeup stains on it.

As she had been doing for the past three years, ever since she had really became a sort of star, she rehearsed what she would say if someone asked her about her family, or her parents. Her mother had told her once that it was best to tease people with information, dangle it over their heads and make them work for it, before dropping something insignificant that people would make significant.

It had worked so far and her mother had been very praising about that.

The issue was, her mother was halfway around the world and Aurora Trueman was on her own and when she was on her own, she panicked a little more and thought a little too deeply about what she said and who she was and if she was being fair to all those around her.

"Miss Trueman?" A stage manager knocked her from her thoughts as Aurora blinked a few times and turned, snapping herself out of her spiral.

"Hi."

"You're up."

"Thank you so much." Aurora beamed, before making sure that she looked alright and following the stage manager out.

She supposed she wasn't there completely on her own. Her manager was with her and whilst Kelly Parsons was a great manager, she wasn't so great at noticing things. For example, when she dropped Aurora off at her parents home, Kelly never checked to make sure that there was an adult letting her in, just that there were lights on for Aurora.

Her heels clicked on the floor as Aurora smiled at the people around her, waving and grinning as she was led to her place. She liked the image that she gave off, she liked being known as the kind and respectful singer, the one that was a pleasure to be around, even if sometimes she didn't want to be.

"And now..." Aurora took one final deep breath, rolling her shoulders back, smiling in preparation as she found her mark. "Our first guest this evening is an incredibly talented musician who is easily one of the best singers in the world right now, it's Aurora Trueman everyone!"

The curtains pulled back, the screams threatened to deafen her and with that, Aurora fell into her element.

Cereal was Aurora's best friend after late nights.

When it was just her, alone in the apartment that her first two years of singing had helped to pay for, after a busy day or stressful evening, Aurora ate cereal in her bed and soothed her throat.

She wasn't sure how much of a singer she looked like at the moment. Her hair was up and messy, there was no jewellery or makeup on, no one around for her to impress or need to impress. Aurora just felt like a normal kid.

Her homework was all done, ready to be submitted online for her school, though she didn't go in person or use her real name in case someone managed to trace it back to her. Her clothes were neat, her bag was ready to head to the studio the next morning and Aurora's notebooks of lyrics and music were packed away safe.

Aurora slurped down the last bits of milk, before placing the bowl off of the side of the bed. She sank down into her covers, pulling them around her and for a moment, just a little bit, she could convince herself that there was someone there to tuck her in though no one had done that since she was twelve.

It was just her.

It was time's like these, where she wanted her mother to be there and to comfort her, that Aurora remembered just how lonely she was. She might be a famous singer with millions of followers and a dedicated fanbase, but in reality, Aurora was alone. She had no one.

Rolling over, Aurora sighed, before finally ending up on her back. The ceiling was plain but Aurora sat there for another few moments before groaning and climbing out of bed.

She had forgotten to pray.

Sinking down onto her knees by the end of the bed, Aurora began to mutter a quick prayer, praying for safety for her mother and her family, for the health of each and every one of her fans even if she did not know their names and that her manager had a good day off the next day.

She was always hesitant to pray for herself, not liking it and feeling as if it were somewhat like begging but this time was different. This time she was lonely and she could feel that in her heart.

"I don't want to come off as rude, considering how blessed I've been over the past few years and I am so incredibly greatful for that, for all of this. It's so incredibly wonderful..." She trailed off, closing her eyes tighter before thinking on her next words. "I'm lonely and I know that it's stupid but maybe, maybe it's within your power to send me a friend, or someone to help me. I just want someone to talk to who gets me."

She finished her prayer, before climbing back into bed and burrowing down. She wasn't sure whether or not her prayer would be heard or answered but it was worth a try and maybe she'd have to make an extra effort over the next few months to meet some more people or find some friends. The other issue would be trusting them enough so that they didn't try and sell her secrets to the tabloids, but Aurora had hope that people would come through.

She needed that hope.
